As the title suggests, this is truly our home away from home. We have been here multiple times and have enjoyed each and every stay. The location of this house is just perfect. It's only an hour drive from Boston and the to e.sandwich road is very scenic. The house has an awesome patio and a private beach. It is well equipped with all the equipments that you would wish for during your vacation. There are some good restaurants and brunch places around too. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxed get away with some awesome seafood and beautiful landscapes.

5 friends and I stayed at the house for just one night, the Saturday after the manhunt in Boston. Brad was very accommodating and offered us an extra night for free given the difficult circumstances where we lived (Cambridge, in the middle of the manhunt). He also offered a full refund if we decided to cancel our trip. We didn't go a night earlier as we were afraid of leaving home at all, but his attitude was remarkable.
The house has the right size for 6 people. Two bedrooms with 1 queen, 1 double and 2 twins. I believe there is also a sofa that turns into a queen but we didn't use it.
It's right on the beach and a short drive from many good restaurants. We cooked barbecue on the grill and it was great. Has 2 parking spots. A big plus for a short getaway is that it is only a 1:20 minutes drive from Boston.
Only small minus was that some of the beds weren't the most comfortable, but none were bad either.
No problems with the deposit refund.

There are six of us, friends since grade school. We wanted a nice getaway but with so much going on in our lives we needed to stay close to home. This nice home on the beach was perfect. We walked on the beach, ran and biked around the neighborhood, made fantastic meals, went wine tasting in Truro and shopping in Province Town. We cried with joy when we heard from our children who were at the Boston Marathon. They were safe. We prayed for the families who were not as fortunate as us. It was great to be on the ocean, so calming & peaceful. I recommend this home and hope to return again, soon!

My girlfriends and I stayed at this house and we loved every minute of it! The view was absolutely amazing. Waking up to the waves and the beach by your side is something everyone needs to do. The house was beautiful and cozy. Everyone needs to check in to this wonderful cottage.

The service was exceptional the home was very clean fully equiped with anything you could need. The location was idealic with water views in every room. We walked beach everyday and watched sunsets from our deck. The best part was listening to the ocean every night and waking up to ocean views from our bed.The worst was having to leave this perfect beach home!

This is the first time that we have rented a Cape Cod house for 37 years when we worked in the USa. Since then we have mostly rented villas in Europe, especially in Provence, where most of the villas are located inland but have swimming pools and are very well equipped with modern kitchens and bathrooms. Our party of 3 adults consisted of myself, my wife and a friend from the USa.
The location of this property on a private beach is by far its best feature and is reflected in the rental cost. Lying in bed listening to the waves breaking on the beach is a relaxing experience. We enjoyed many walks along this beach which has some excellent sandbars at low tide that are perfect for children to play on. Many beach goers spend time selecting prize specimens from the amazing variety of granite coloured stones to be found on parts of the beach.
Unlike in Europe, we understand that it is not typical for Cape Cod rentals to include sheets and towels, or even to have an iron, dishwasher, or washing machine available for use. The property is advertised as having two bathrooms; in Europe one would be called a bathroom and the other a toilet. The bathroom on the first floor has a bath and shower, whilst the one on the ground floor only has a toilet and washbasin. A large party of 4-6 adults might find this a problem if they were all getting dressed to go out.
Given the location of the house, it is necessary to drive to the best restaurants in the area. We particularly recommend the Belfry Bistro and Daniel Webster's Inn, both of which are located about 5 miles away in Sandwich. Although these restaurants are expensive the dining experience was excellent and constituted good value. There are lots of interesting places to visit on the cape; we would particularly recommend Woods Hole, Provincetown and Chatham. The boat trip from Hyannis to see the Kennedy Compound is also very interesting.
We enjoyed our stay in East Sandwich and would recommend it for a family or a small group of adults. -

We booked this expensive house end of July 2012 for one week with the family. For a rental price of USD 3400 a week you would expect some reasonable standard. The owner raised high expectations when describing this place. In reality this house is basically rotten and requires a complete refurbishment. The beds are scrap and should have been replaced ages ago. The kitchen does not even have a dishwasher and is below standard. A washing machine is in the cellar but the owner did not allow to use it. We ordered some linens & towels for add. Usd 100 and got some cheap synthetic, ugly stuff which was not even worth the fee.
I attached some picture and could offer even more - be glad I didn't show you the rusty mirrored bathroom cabinet.
So - don't even think about renting it - there are some much better places nearby for a fair price. -

This was our first trip to the Cape ( family of 4 including a 15 and 14 year old) and therefore, we might not be aware of the customs followed on the Cape with vacation homes --we are long time residents of the West Coast and our vacation rental experience is mostly in California. So, keep that in mind for this review.
With that said, we leased this property for one week in July. The owners are very easy to deal with in terms of obtaining the rental agreement. They returned the deposit very quickly which we appreciated.
However, be aware the pictures of this property are a bit misleading with the pictures suggesting the house stands alone while, in reality ,it is located very close to surrounding houses. The house actually shares a stairway and porch with the larger house next door. Also, the house shares a drive way with several other properties. The drive way and parking was very crowded while we were there due to a significant numbers of people visiting and staying at the surrounding houses. The assigned parking spot for this house was usually not available for this reason.
Also ( again this might be customary for Cape rentals) the house did not come with any sheets , linens or towels or even paper towels or napkins. For the price paid for a one week rental, we found this to be surprising and resulted in us having to haul these items on our trip.
The property has only 2 small bathrooms which made things crowded even for our family of four.
The place has no air conditioning which again is probably typical for Cape vacation rentals . The week we were there was hot so this proved to be uncomfortable.
Lastly this property is located on the beach which is nice ; however, it is not really close to much in terms of restaurants or shops so we found ourselves constantly in the car driving to anything we wanted to do.Response from Brad Niziak - 09/07/2012

East Sandwich Beach is a quiet, private, family beach. We own the beach in front of our private beach association. We do have a neighbor to our right. To our left is conservation land, with our closest neighbor approximately 100 yards away. We do not share a porch. We do share a stairway to the driveway. We do have private reserved parking for our cottage which is clearly marked. If someone is in your parking space, simply bring it to our attention. Most Cape Cod rental homes require guests to supply their own towels and sheets. We can make sheets and towels available through our cleaning service. Most people will agree that two bathrooms should be sufficient for a two bedroom cottage. Most oceanfront Cape Cod cottages do not have air conditioning as we are right on the beach and get lots of ventilation. Fans are provided. Ours is a private and less crowded beach. We like it like that! We are located off of Old King’s Highway which is a historically protected area and considered one of the most scenic roads in America. Sorry you will not find T Shirt shops or McDonalds on East Sandwich Beach. They can be found in the more crowded and noisy towns of Yarmouth, Hyannis and Falmouth which is a short 15 minute drive. There are more than a dozen fine restaurants convenient to our cottage. Two are within walking distance. Marshland, voted “Best Cape Cod Breakfast” and featured on the Food Network is less than five miles from our Cape house as well as the 4 Star Daniel Webster and the Belfry Inn which is considered one of the best restaurants on Cape Cod. -

This house was more than we ever expected. It is quiet,cozy,clean,inviting and the views are spectacular. My son loved the beach and I loved that he could play just outside the back door and entertain himself with sand castles and beach toys. The owners of this house thought of everything. No need to worry about forgetting anything. They have it covered! Just bring yourself and family and do what it's meant for...Relax and enjoy beautiful Cape Cod!

We had an amazing time at the beach while staying in this home. The pictures provided depict everything so accurately...if anything, they do not do justice to the entire setting. The description of the beach given to us was also accurate...it is so serene and peaceful...it suited us perfectly! All of us loved this beach home itself which was clean, cozy, and provided the best views of the beach from every room. We only left once during our stay to order food and hurried back to enjoy the experience. Our five year old son is already saying how much he misses it and our two teens had the time of their lives! Thank you to the owners, who exhibited nothing but professionalism from start to finish, for opening up their home and allowing others to enjoy the captivating surroundings...it was a priceless experience we will never forget and we hope to come back soon!

From the wonderful ocean view from all windows, to the well equiped kitchen, our stay at this cottage was just what we needed for a "get away from it all" few days. The town offers great restaurants, antiquing, and sightseeing and the beach is wonderful for long walks any time of day. Such a cozy atmosphere for reading and talking. We both hope to stay again next year.

The view in every room was picture perfect, beautiful. The ocean was seen for miles...just my dream come true. I can't think of too many sentences to explain my experience, but have lots of adjectives...weeks later, I'm still talking about it. I love Cape Cod and this was so convenient to everything. Just loved every minute of time spent there. Would love to return!

Cape Cod is our favorite destination and this oceanfront home is without a doubt the nicest we ever visited. The home was spotless, the location - right on the beach, was fabulous and the ocean views were breathtaking. We spent hours at the kitchen table overlooking the beach with our morning coffee each day. The beach is without a doubt one of the nicest Cape Cod beaches. The owners couldn't have been more helpful making sure that we had a wonderful visit and offering suggestions on what to do, see and where to dine. We cannot wait to return to this gem of a beach house.
