New Yorknice but needs a little work

Very nice place. It's location, steps from an absolutely first rate beach, is perfect. However, the place needs one or two things: first, an outside spigot and hose to spray the sand off your feet before you go inside. I walked around J twice the first day thinking surely it had to be there, but no, no hose. One of us had to go inside and get pitchers of water to rinse everyone's feet off after returning from the beach. A hassle, especially with kids, who get very sandy. Finally we just left a plastic basin outside, which didn't work that great, but was better than the pitcher thing. I was thinking maybe there was a drought and they'd taken the hose out or something, but all the other cottages had one. Second problem (and one again having to do with water): the shower dripped. This kept the bathroom always sort of damp and mildewy feeling.
Other than those two things, which again, could be easily remedied, the place was great. The staff at Sand Dollar were very professional, helpful and nice.
East Sandwich is wonderful. Lush, beautiful and green with magnificent beach and marsh coastline. Much better IMO than the more popular, busier areas farther out on the cape.Response from Sand Dollar Realty - 08/29/2009
