The house was nice and cozy. A bit small. I would suggest that trash can bags for the outside trash can are provided set of sheets and towels. Washer and dryer would be a great plus for families with kids, particularly. The proximity to the beach was very convenient and that was very nice. All the houses were very close to each other and our kids loved that because they made a new friend, but in terms of privacy that was not ideal. All together, we had a wonderful time and great memories.

Hancock, MISandy beaches (and sandy carpets)

Having stayed in one of the cottages in this grouping before, we were delighted to find one available for our vacation rental. The cottage was cute, but in need of some updating - and a thorough vacuuming. The floors, including the carpeted bedrooms, were full of sand upon arrival. The cottage was comfortable enough for the price, although we had to do some minor fixes during the week (retighten the shower head and toilet flusher, re-connect the screen door spring). However, the location absolutely cannot be beat. Who cares about sandy floors and leaky showers when you've got a beautiful beach 100 feet from your door?

Providence, RIGreat fun in the sun and sand.

The location of this cottage is wonderful. Its just 25 steps to the beach. The beach is long and wide and dotted with families. Love the lack of crowds on the beach and the convenience of a short walk back to the cottage for breaks. If your planning to stay here, remember to bring more than your linens. You will need a cell phone, clothes hangers, dish towels, and toiletries such as T/P, soap and shampoo. The cottage is small, but comfortable for two people. There is no a/C, but the fans work well to keep the cottage cool; but you have to tolerate their droning. In regards to location, we liked the convenience of the local farm stand, lobsterman, and freshly baked goods from the Kitchen Cottage. And the supermarket is just 5 miles away...just far enough to keep your trips meaningful! Back at the cottage we appreciated WiFi and the plasma TV with a wide array of channels. The kitchen could use better quality pans and utensils. And really, the shower curtain could be more than a thin sheet of plastic! If you're planning to stay here, keep in mind that you are in a cottage community with renters a mere 20 feet all around you. If they're friendly, its a good time; if they're cranky...well, not so much fun! All in all a good way to enjoy the Cape at a reasonable price.

Coming across country to stay in a rental (sight unseen) with 2 teenagers left me somewhat uneasy and hoping that the vacation wouldn't be ruined by a week of whining with attitude. (Parents of teens know what I mean) However, we were very happy with the cabin and having the ocean so close resulted in happy teens who came and went back and forth as they pleased, leaving us parents to enjoy ourselves. The cabin provided every every convenience and included extra pillows and blankets. Although we were fortunate in obtaining borrowed linens form family nearby, I appreciated the linen rental website provided so precious luggage space wasn't needed.

Been going here for many years never noticed a musty smell or it being dirty as stated in other posts very close to the private beach and a great place to bring the kids the cottage is a bit small as is all the other ones in the area but has a nice deck and to be honest we never spend much time inside the cottage except to sleep and shower.Going back again next summer.Sand Dollar clearly states they do not provide linens or bedding but the cottage has everything else

We just returned from a week at Lighthouse C and had a wonderful time. The location on East Sandwich Beach was perfect, and I can't rave enough about how beautiful the water was and how perfect that area was for a family with kids. The water was so blue and clear that at times it felt like we were in the Caribbean! There was also a tidal pool that formed at low tide with lots of sealife for the kids to discover (bring a net!) . Lighthouse C itself was small, but we found it clean and comfortable (especially the beds). There have been updates made since pictures were last taken, including a brand new sofa bed in the livingroom (more of a futon- but a nice one), and a microwave (which was invaluable). We didn't notice the musty smell another reviewer noted - but I think that review may have been before the new matresses and sofa. We may try another cottage next year. Many of the other cottages in the same association (Lighthouse Cottages) were more udpated, with skylights, window aC units, etc. There was one hot day when aC would have come in handy. All in all I'd say that Lighthouse C was a good value (looks to be priced $100-$200 less per week than the more updated neighbor cottages), we enjoyed our stay there and I know we'd have a great time if we stayed again.

I was surprised that the cottage did not come with sheets, an ironing board or towels. My daughter and I traveled by plane for this vacation therefore we packed light for air travel. The cottage was not clean when we arrived. During my stay I wished a thousand times that I had spent more money to get a nicer place. We left a day early and spent the last 2 1/2 days of our vacation in a Boston hotel. We were so shell-shocked from our "camping-style" vacation at the beach that we didn't leave the luxury of our hotel room until it was time to go home. I think this cottage would be okay for people who are from the Boston/Cape Cod area. They probably know (and are able) to pack the car full of sheets, toiletries, towels, iron, etc. We are used to beach vacations at Hilton Head, Jeckyll Island, Charleston and more resort style beaches. My advice would be to make sure the vacationer knows what to expect from this "no frills" cottage.

We loved the area. The beach was close and easy to enjoy at any time. I would recommend Sand Dollar Reality to anyone, they were very accommodating. I would pick a different cottage to stay in next time. Lighthouse c had some issues with its smell. No matter what we tried, we could not get the terrible musty smell to go away. Overall, the area of East Sandwich was quiet and the people were very helpfull and friendly, I would stay again.
