If you like the scent of salt air and the sound of sea gulls, this is the cottage for you! Panoramic bay views in a great location only steps from Campground Beach. Totally renovated and re-decorated top to bottom in 2011. There isn't a stick of tired old knotty pine in this cottage. Blue Skies on the Half Shell is an updated seaside cottage with white bead-board ceilings, antique wood flooring, and an airy light blue and white color scheme. The New York Times has called Eastham "Cape Cod's Little Secret." The town offers visitors a quieter and less crowded environment than some of the more well known areas of the Cape. Eastham is bounded by Cape Cod Bay to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, with these two bodies of water being only 3 miles apart. Eastham has two ocean beaches: Coast Guard Beach (consistently named one of the nation's Top 10 Beaches by The Travel Channel) and Nauset Light Beach. The red and white Nauset Lighthouse on Nauset Light Beach is said to be the most photographed site on Cape Cod. The Salt Pond Visitor's Center is the primary information center for visitors to the Cape Cod National Seashore (celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2011) and the starting point for many nature trails and bicycle routes. The former Cape Cod Rail Trail is now a paved bicycle trail. It runs the length of the town while passing by picturesque salt marshes, cranberry bogs and ponds, and ends at the Visitor Center.
Cape Cod Bay offers the perfect setting for long walks on seemingly endless tidal sand bars. The water is warm and inviting right into the fall. The Wellfleet drive-in movie theater (one of few remaining in the U.S.) is only 5 minutes away, and also offers 4 indoor screens. The flea market is fun for everyone. Wellfleet is also the home of the Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary which offers some great hiking trails. The area offers mini golf, great eats at numerous clam shacks and plenty of home made ice cream shops. Charter fishing boat excursions, whale watching, kayaking and sailing is available for those who want to be in or near the water at all times. You can tour the Truro Vineyards and sample their wines. The eclectic community of Provincetown offers many great restaurants, art galleries and shopping opportunities.

We lucked out for the second year in a row at this fabulous place. The cottage is beautifully decorated and super clean. Just pack your bags and bring your sunscreen- you're sure to have a great vacation. Sue and Lee are the best hosts we've rented from. Hope to be back next year!

We were so privileged to have spent two delightful weeks at "Blue Skies." True to its name, it provided one week of nothing but sunshine. Then the excitement started as Hurricane Sandy approached. We decided to hunker down here, and what a good decision it was. We were as snug as could be - no rattling windows or howling winds - just three flickers of the lights as we watched her fury on TV. Our time here flew by as we explored the surrounding area, kayaked, visited with friends and enjoyed the restaurants from P'town to Yarmouth. We found a harbor of contentment here that we hope to enjoy again next year. We will be in touch.

We had another wonderful week at Blue Skies. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Two years in a row!!! We did a lot of walking on various trails - loved the audubon Conservatory. Brought our bikes and did a lot of riding too! Went boating with our friends and also did a lot of sitting and reading. We hope to be back next year. I don't know that we could dare hope for a third year of perfect weather, but then, why not!?!?! Thank you again for the use of your perfect little cottage. We love it!!

Our family made a lot of memories during a beautiful week at the Cape. It remains the pristine, unspoiled treasure that I remember from my childhood vacations here. Blue Skies was a wonderful, cozy home away from home! It was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The location on the Cape and proximity to the beach make it an ideal spot for a small family. We found so many fun, reasonable, and high-quality family entertainment venues, all within an easy driving distance. The tidal flats at low tide are a sight to behold. The owners were a pleasure to work with and provided many thoughtful touches.

Blue Skies on the Half Shell is such a wonderful place to spend a week! The owners are great to work with. My family absolutely loves the cottage...it has every amenity you could think of to make it a home away from home. The kids love having breakfast on the upper deck and being able to walk to the beach by themselves. The beds are comfortable and the outdoor shower is to die for!!! We never even used the shower inside. The screened porch in the front is great for reading a book and relaxing. I would highly recommend spending your vacation here :)

This was our second year at Blue Skies and it did not disappoint. The owners are wonderful hosts. It seems they think of everything to make your stay a pleasant one. The arrangements are handled in a professional and effortless manner. The cottage is clean and beautifully decorated with modern accommodations. In just steps you are on the bayside beach, which is wonderful if you have little ones, and the National Seashore is about a 10 minute car ride away. At the end of the day we love to sit on the rooftop deck and enjoy the ocean view. We highly recommend this cottage. We'll be back next year.

Great cottage in a great location right on Campground Beach. Absolutely perfect for us (a retired couple who loves being near the beach). Very clean and comfortable and well stocked with the essentials (even laundry detergent for the washer!). The decor is bright, breezy and beachy. We loved the artwork and cheerful light blue color throughout. Coming from our urban setting, the outdoor shower provided a special summer treat. It was a pleasure to work with the owners to arrange the rental. They are friendly but thoroughly professional. They even provided a list of tried-and-true restaurant recommendations. We plan to return next year and will recommend this cottage to family and friends.
