This home is ideally located halfway between Edgartown and South Beach. It is not oceanfront, very few homes in MV are. From the third floor you can just make out South Beach in the distance, it takes about 2 minutes by car. South Beach is sandy and uncrowded, although the waves are often too rough for small children to play in. Edgartown, by far the nicest of the towns on MV, is 5 minutes by car. This home is excellent for bike riders, as a wide bike trail connects South Beach and Edgartown, running virtually right next to this house. The house is well-stocked with linens, bath towels, beach towels, Dvds, books, games, toys for children of various ages, beach chairs, sand toys, and a pool table. The kitchen and dining area are spacious, and 10 people can share this house without feeling crowded. The house is not air conditioned, which is fine for most of the day. However, the house gets full sun for the entire day, and although there is generally a fair breeze, it can get very warm inside. There is a nice big yard for kids to play frisbee or badminton, but the landscaping of the yard is less than its neighbors. Do note that the perimeter has poison ivy and deer ticks, so use caution. There is a small private airport nearby, but the airplane noise is not bothersome at all, in fact, it is rather cool to see Wwii Flying ace-type planes taking off and landing from time to time. We would definitely stay here again, although it is very expensive. Of course, you knew that when you decided to vacation in MV, right? Expect to pay significantly more for everything than you would in the Outer Banks of NC, for example.
