Katama is a residential area outside of the quaint and historic whaling village of Edgartown. Katama is on the south shore of the island. Our home is located on a quiet lane. It's private and tranquil - a wonderful retreat.
Our home is situated a pleasant walking distance across the Katama Plains, a rare protected grass habitat, to spectacular South Beach; a beautiful stretch of soft sand, gorgeous dunes, and frothy waves. A fantastic beach for body surfing.
There are biking paths throughout the island, our home is adjacent to the bike path along Herring Creek Road, from Edgartown to South Beach.
There are nature and conservation lands with miles of paths throughout the island. Enjoy walks through forested acres, along the ocean shore, through grasslands, marshland, and farmland. The natural beauty of the island is uplifting and soothing. The best of places for a magical visit!

Nightly rate for three night minimum stay available on inquiry.. There is a seven night minimum stay during the summer season, three night stays available in early Spring and late Fall. Weekly rates as low as $2,000 for early spring and late fall weeks; weekly rates of $5,400 for summer weeks of July and August.
Payment by personal check and bank check only. Wire transfers are not accepted.
Rental includes many amenities for the comfort and convenience of our guests including a house cleaning prior to arrival, provision of all linens, and a laundry service for household linens at end of stay (laundry service for stays of seven nights minimum). Rental is all inclusive, there are not any fees. We require a fully refundable security deposit of $500.
Payment terms available on inquiry (please disregard automated payment terms displayed). Owner/manager will provide a standard recreational lease with the schedule and amount of payments due.

We stayed at this lovely home for the first time for our daughter's wedding week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Four couples shared the house and there was never a feeling of being over-crowded. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax.
We were very pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen extremely well stocked with a wide variety of spices, condiments and even K cups for their Keurig coffee maker. Paper products, towels (for showering as well as the beach), linens and pillows, lawn/sand chairs, a cooler, games, videos and books were all available for our use.
A beautiful beach is close by and is a very easy walk.
The house was in excellent condition when we arrived with the beds made up; everything was ready for us.
I would highly recommend this property and look forward to our return.

This was at least our 7th time in this home. The owners are very accomodating. Each year they improve and update the house. It is a very clean home (important to us). An unusual and welcome feature is that the owners supply paper goods, condiments, towels and linens. This is a great convenience.
We walk or bike to the beach. The front lawn and deck is great for family gathering. The kitchen has everything you could imagine. All of good quality. I highly recommend this property.
