Brockville, Ontario, CanadaRoyal treatment on the Royal Mile
Left on 06/01/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed the Lawn Market location. Close to everything and fun to sit on the window seat and watch the "stir" below. If you want to be in the middle of the action, this is the place to be. Well equipped, spacious 2 bedroom flat with comfortable beds. Bright, airy and in pristine condition. Easy and friendly check-in. We would certainly return and also recommend to friends visiting Edinburgh. Thanks so much!

Edmond, Oklahoma, United StatesThe nicest place and perfect location!
Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This was an excellent place to stay, very centrally located. Lots of room for our big group of 10 between both apartments. The apartments were very clean and comfortable. Working with Catherine and Derek was so easy and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If I ever go back, I am going straight to Pillowstops. They were more than accommodating and so nice.

Aberdeen, United KingdomMemorable Edinburgh Fringe Visit
Left on 08/27/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Our accommodation on the Lawnmarket could really not have been any better. It was spacious enough for our needs, and tastefully decorated. We immediately felt at home in this wonderfully located apartment. The high street was vibrant and buzzing with the usual Fringe entertainment, some of which we could view at leisure from the apartment window seats. Noise? Yes, but then that's to be expected given the location. Hotels are not any different, and we find the best solution is a good set of earplugs which work wonders in any location. Would we go back? Yes of course.

cary, ncgreat location, ok accommodations
Left on 06/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
In many ways, this is a fantastic place to stay because it is so centrally located. Being right on the Royal Mile is great for walking to all museums and there are a bounty of restaurants and stores close by. We did not have a car and I have no idea where you would park if you had one. Coming in by train is easy, though a bit of a hall up hill from the station to the apartment. So, with regard to location, you can't beat it. The accommodations were average, however. The pictures are accurate, but it is plainly appointed with no extras...no soap provided, no wash clothes, and harder than desired beds. Having just one bathroom proved a problem at times and the shower does not work great. The washer worked ok, but really there is no dryer...we used the manual to figure out how to work it, but it still just wrung out the water rather than drying them. The biggest drawback of this rental is the street noise which goes on to midnight at least and starts up again around dawn with the trash pick up trucks. We came in June when we had to keep the windows up to keep it cool, so overall it was not conducive for good sleep.

Owner
Many thanks to any guests that leave reviews as all have view points that are valued. The apartment is in a City Centre location which is great for all the attractions normally visited by guests to Edinburgh.
The location close to the railway station is excellent and the journey by taxi from the station to the apartment is less than £5.00
I am glad that the pictures on our website are accurate as there is nothing worse than turning up to find that what you have booked is nothing like what you were expecting.........we have found this ourselves with a holiday we booked in Italy and were very disappponted.
We have never had any comments before about the beds or the shower and will certainly review these items. The dryer for clothes has a thermostat that operates if overloaded and wonder if this has been the problem again I will investigate.
Overall we are sorry if you felt things could have made your stay more comfortable as we do feel along with many other guests that we offer a clean, welcome and comfortable property in what we consider to be the best tourist street in the historic old town of Edinburgh. -

New ZealandGreat Stay on the Royal Mile
Left on 01/08/2012 for a stay in April 2010
It is a long time coming this review as it has taken awhile to find Pillowstops on Trip advisor. The memory however of the stay is fresh in my mind and subsequent to this stay I have also stayed at advocates Close another property on the Royal Mile managed by Pillowstops. This is an excellent apartment, right in the thick of all the action, you can sit for ages in one of the window sets watching people meander up and down the road. The apartment itself is well appointed with everything you will need for a holiday. Derek the Manager/owner of the property is friendly and very helpful and it was easy to follow his directions and he was there to met us as arranged.

What a great apartment! The widow seats (in every room!) were the highlight for us. You can look up and down the Royal Mile & see what's going on at all hours. The apartment was really spotless & well set up with everything you could need. The owners seem to really care about the presentation. Fresh flowers, fresh milk, juice and crackers along with tea & coffee etc on arrival. Super cosy, comfy beds, nice hot water, free wi-fi, tourist info, maps etc and all with the castle less than 10 mins away. We have three kids and they appreciated the kids books, games and videos. Tip: It's a lively area with things happening night and day so if you need perfect silence to sleep- take earplugs.

Greenisland, Northern IrelandA rare find on the Royal Mile!
Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in November 2011
The service was first rate - we were able to access the appartment by 10 a.m., as there were no tenants the previous evening. The owners met us at the front door. This was our second stay and as a family group we thoroughly enjoyed the appartment. All home comforts are provided, everything is clean and in working order! A superb location, terrific views down Lawnmarket towards St. Giles, close proximity to the Castle and any number of shops and places to eat. The only minor issues are that the appartment is on the second floor (not so handy for those with buggies or older party members!) and it can occasionally be a little noisy with deliveries being made early in the morning. We will definitely be back for a third visit!

Top class accommodation. The location on the Royal Mile could not be better. Only downside is we did not book early enough for next year!

WiltsA fabulous location and an apartment I couldn't fault.
Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Although parking is necessarily difficult at an apartment right in the middle of the Old Town, all was made as easy as possible. Mrs Gibb helped us bring in our luggage and we were greeted with a hospitality pack and a clean, modern, well-fitted out apartment. The umbrellas were particularly appreciated! The location is the best part of this accommodation - particularly if you are there for the Festival. We would certainly return.

SheffieldA little taste of home.
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This 2-bedroom second floor apartment was perfectly located on the Royal Mile. It was very clean and airy and nicely laid out. It had all we needed for a lovely 3 day stay. There are window seats for people watching down below. The down side of this is that street life starts up pretty early so don't think about having lazy mornings in bed. Having said that we were mostly up and about first thing. The kitchen was well equipped and I liked the open plan kitchen/lounge area. Nice touches include a visitors book where previous guests recommend local attractions and restaurants, as well as guide books for the area. I'm looking forward to my return.

South AfricaGreat location, great apartment
Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in June 2011
When we arrived we were welcomed personally by the apartment's owner, which was a great touch. The apartment was spotless and central to all the tourist attractions, we could not have asked for more.
There are many restaurants close by, with supermarkets within walking distance. It was so much better than a hotel, with large bedrooms and a nice sized lounge.
We especially loved the window seats, the people watching was fantastic!
I would definately recommend this apartment and will be going back there.
