CanadaHad a really great time staying at the Quartermile apartment!
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013
This apartment is really great for short or long term stay. It's centrally located and is very close to major attractions in the old town. The place is very clean, modern and is well equipped with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. Most of all, Niki is the best host/agent I've ever come across! She is very hospitable and has great attention to detail. Very impressed with the whole experience indeed.

Left on 04/25/2013 for a stay in April 2013
An excellent apartment in terms of location and quality of service. We were greeted by Niki who was thorough in her explanation of where we could find everything we needed in the apartment, how to use the facilities, the car park and how to get to the city centre and all local tourist attractions. She had also provided all the basics that we needed for our stay including breakfast cereals, bread, milk etc. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the building was quiet. Overall we were 100% happy with the experience and would definitley stay again.

Left on 01/24/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We very much enjoyed our recent stay in the Quartermile apartment in Edinburgh. The accommodation was excellent, much better than a hotel room of similar price would be.Everything we needed for our 3 night stay was provided. Having stayed in other Edinburgh rentals, the parking (directly underneath) was a massive bonus, even though a car is not necessary once you have arrived as access the city centre is easy. We hope to return !
(Visitors with mobility problems should be aware that the bath/shower is quite tricky to climb into) -

Everything about the apartment was excellent. The accommodation was modern, extremely comfortable and spotless. The owners had left nothing to chance - everything was covered and to a high standard including thoughtful provision of basic foods - not that we needed to worry as the apartment is only a very short distance from a Sainsbury's Local and a Swedish Cafe which provided delicious breads and pastries baked on the premises. The apartment was in an ideal location for exploring Edinburgh and we could not recommend it more highly. The free parking was an added bonus.

Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed for three nights in October 2012. The apartment was beautiful and was one of the best equipped we have stayed at. Everything was included including items we never expected. There were even spare batteries for the remote which we ended up needing.
The apartment is at the University and within easy walking distance to the Royal Mile and in a safe walkable neighborhood.
One caution - you need to make sure that you connect with Nikki before arriving so that she can arrange to meet you at the apartment. Nikki had sent us an e-mail and even called our home phone in Canada twice trying to connect but we booked the night before we arrived and were then en route without cell coverage. We were a bit worried when we showed up and nobody wasn't there but once we did connect with her everything went well.
One nice touch was when she arranged to see us off and ensure we had a good time.
Would definitely strongly recommend and stay again if back in Edinburgh -

Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This is an extremely comfortable and well-equipped apartment, within walking distance of all of the major sites as well as within a 15-minute walk (or short taxi ride if you have luggage) of Waverley Station - for connections to the airport. It's in a quiet location (although it might get a little lively at Festival time). There are an excellent cafe/bakery, coffee/bookshop and good restaurant within 2/3 minutes walk, as well as a supermarket - with a much wider choice of amenities within a 10-minute radius. The welcome was really friendly and the owner incredibly helpful and obliging. It was just what I needed for a business trip, very comfortable, quiet but with access to everything as well as the space and facilities (including free wifi) to work and/or unwind in the evenings. It would be equally brilliant for a short break or longer holiday - highly recommended.

This really is a great apartment; wonderfully appointed, superb kitchen, comfortable beds, first rate linens, great location for sightseeing, convenient grocery store and bakery downstairs, no vehicular traffic, even a welcome package for breakfast... etc. etc. Niki Watt is the most helpful landlord ever; no such thing as a problem for Niki, just a solution waiting to happen. A/C would be a plus on a warm evening as people tend to congregate downstairs in the courtyard. That aside, a most enjoyable experience.

I stayed here recently for 2 nights and my only complaint is that I could not spend more time there! The apartment itself is wonderfully equipped with everything you could want, even wifi. Located directly above a sainsburys grocery store, and both Peter,s Yard and Starbucks coffee, easy access to any food you want to prepare yourself. Less than 5 minutes from Edinburgh royal mile, you are superbly positioned to walk to anything you want to see. There are also lots of pubs and restaurants nearby as you are practically on the grounds of Edinburgh university. A one minute walk and you will be on the meadows, a fabulous park in the city. Niki was fabulous meeting me straight off my taxi and showing me how everything worked. She has Edinburgh city guides, and restaurant guides, basically anything you could want for exploring. It was wonderful to not be stuck in a sterilized hotel room. The apartment has huge glass windows that allow you to just sit and people watch if you need a rest. I cannot say enough good things about this rental. I will definitely be back.

We were met at the airport and driven to our flat. We couldn't help comparing our warm, comfortable and modern flat with the cold and drafty house we rented in the Grange 35 years ago! We weren't too bothered by the constant rain because we were able to entertain our friends, enjoy the excellent coffee downstairs at Peter's Yard, and watch the Tour de France and Wimbledon. When the rain stopped, we could walk almost anywhere from the c

This is an exceptional apartment with great hosts. It is across from the university and there is always lots of activity in front of the building. There is a bakery, a coffee shop and a Sainsbury local supermarket on the ground floor. it is not in the center of town but it is very close to all of the tourist spots and convenient to the bus that can take you into new town or the castle if you don`t want to walk it. This city is quite hilly so the bus is very handy. The hosts are fine people. A young couple with young children who treat you like family. They were very flexible with our arrival and departure times and helped my wife find a massage therapist after a long day sight seeing. Nice welcome basket that is really breakfast for the first few days. Very modern and clean with a dishwasher and all modern appliances. We cooked dinner every night with items we bought at Sainsburys every night. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Being in the heart of Edinburgh was excellent. Easy access on foot to all the main attractions. The apartment was very well appointed and comfortable in what is a very modern building. This apartment was very clean, well stocked, perfect size for two on a vacation, and right above a wonderful breakfast place called Peter's Yard and a Sainsbury's store. We stayed here for 4 nights for a birthday trip away and couldn't have hoped for better. The apartment was the perfect size for the 2 of us and the standard of the finish and equipment was amazing. Nikki was very accommodating, even of our request for an early check-in. The apartment was spotless and we appreciated the obvious care which had been lavished on it. At only a 5-10 minute walk from the Castle, yet in a quiet area overlooking the Meadows and University, the location couldn't have been better. We would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone seeking a bit of luxury at reasonable prices in a brilliant location.

This apartment was perfect for our holiday whilst visiting the Fringe Festival. It was on the edge of the quiet Meadows fields, whilst being just a couple of minutes walk from the the city and many Fringe venues. It was a great feeling to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the crowds one minute, and safe and secure in the apartment the next. Great views and barely ten minutes walk from the Royal Mile. The accomodation was beautifully furnished and equipped, just about everything you needed was there, and cooking in the kitchen was very enjoyable. We are very glad that we chose this accomodation. What a fantastic find- this was booked pretty last minute by my friend to use as a base for a Saturday night out. A brilliant alternative to a noisy hotel, and with all the provisions left by Niki, a true home from home.
True- it's a little bit out of town, but its only a £7 taxi ride to George Street, within walking distance of the Grassmarket and Royal Mile, and not far from Haymarket station. I'd stay here again and have already recommended it to colleagues. Well done & thanks (and there's not many places I've stayed that I can say that to!) -

This is a wonderful flat in a brand new, energy-efficient building. The flat has polished bamboo floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the old stone buildings of U of Edinburgh. It is comfortably and tastefully furnished (the bed linens are beautiful!), including the kitchen which is suitable for preparing dinner 'at home.' The flat is perfect for two. Niki was very friendly, helpful, and conscientious. We would not hesitate to do business with her again.

*F - as in the FABOLOUS owners who did everything to make us feel welcome and helped us out with everything from finding the right busnumbers to making sure that the internet conenction and all the equipment in the wonderful apartment worked fine.
*F - as in FANTASTIC location! Close to the Royal Mile in the middle of a new bustling business and university area. On the bottom floor of the buidling where the apartment is located, there is a Sainsburys-store, a Starbucks coffeeshop and a swedish bakery with delicious sandwiches and cakes.
*...and finally F as in FAULTLESS! I really tried my best to find something that could be better but there is nothing. In addition to the above written the apartment is both stylish and comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. This was our second stay here. As before, we were warmly welcomed by Niki. The apartment was very warm, even in the middle of Scotland's coldest winter for many years. There was also no noise from neighbouring apartments. We love the fact that you can walk to The Royal Mile in under 10 minutes and Princes Street in no more than 15. There's a Sainsbury's just below, great for self-catering, and the owners' welcome pack generously provides for several breakfasts. There's secure undergound parking on site. This is a perfect place to use as a base for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area. The apartment is exceptionally well- equipped, comfortable, and very user-friendly.

Hi Niki,
We just wanted to say thanks very much for your enthusiastic hospitality over the weekend of our stay at your apartment in Edinburgh (December 2009).
We had an absolutely fabulous time (as I'm sure you will have gathered!!)
The apartment was top-notch and your welcome on Friday made us feel at home. The amenities were modern and of a reputable maunfacturer. LCD TV, I-pod docking station, fully fitted high quality kitchen and plush furnishings made us want to stay longer!
Rest assured that we will strongly recommend you to all our relatives and friends should they make the trip up-north.
Special thanks must go to you also for helping to add that little bit extra to our visit by arranging the flowers and champagne for my wife's 40th. Karen was very pleased with this as it made her weekend even more memorable.
We very much look forward to coming back to Edinburgh and will look to stay at Quartermile again.
Thanks once again, and no doubt we will see you again in the future?
Kind Regards
Vince & Karen (Frost)

Excellent service and a perfect location - quiet yet central and with great cafes in the same complex. The apartment is very modern but homely and warm (a must for Edinburgh in December!!).
We wanted a really special place for our 10th anniversary and were lucky enough to find it. -

We were looking for a little luxury for my 40th and found it with this gorgeous apartment. The apartment is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with excellent facilities. The owners couldn't do enough for you, they arranged a welcom hamper, showed us around the apartment, and advised of places to visit, restaurants to dine in, and pubs for the occasional drink. For those wishing to travel to Edinburgh by car, the apartment offers private parking, making your trip hassle free. The apartment overlooks gardens, is quiet, but only a 5-10 minute walk to some fabulous pubs, restaurants and take-aways! The apartment is only a 10 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile - so location, location location is paramount with this property. The apartment has a very relaxing feel, very comfortable, and we will be booking to go back very soon. We highly recommend this apartment.

I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this apartment. The owners are charming, there are manuals explaining how to work the electric/electronic equipment and the heating controls etc. Tourist brochures are available and generous extras like breakfast supplies are provided. All the fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality and everything is spotlessly clean and fresh smelling.

WE used this as a base during an academic conference. We had with us a child of 3 and a baby of 4 months. The hosts were very kind in providing us with a travel cot and extra bedding, and ensuring that we had breakfast supplies in the morning. The bathroom was very popular - the bath was super for small children - as were the huge windows.

This very nice one bedroom 2nd floor apartment is in a new development that is part of a historic site currently still being worked on. The apartment is well away from the building work and there is no problem with noise.
It's close to most of the best bits of Edinburgh, and has an OK supermarket and a good coffee and bake shop downstairs. The apartment is beautifully furnished, and has a great kitchen, that has some basic breakfast food when you move in.)
It has a view East to the Salisbury Crags. You can lie in bed and watch the sun come up, through the one-way blinds.
It's easy to get to by car and has a parking place. Taxi to or from the airport is 15 to 20 pounds including tip.
Nikki, the owner, is super helpful and will explain how everything works. (Even televisions in Britain seem to work differently from elsewhere :-) The price is reasonable for Edinburgh.
This was my second stay and it won't be my last. -

A great apartment with everything thought out, from extras in the bathroom to an Easter egg in the kitchen! Plus wifi, a lovely meet and greet from the owner... brilliant location, right above a very good deli and a Sainsbury's, and sitting on a pedestrianised road that leads into a park. Quiet and good for people watching - despite floor to cieling windows we had total privacy as we were so high up. On site parking but also minutes from Edinburgh city centre on foot. Really, we couldn't have hoped for more.
