Additional Location Information
Leith is just to the north of the city and is where the ships used to port with their cargos of wine, port, fish and whale meat. Exporting from here were the many many whisky varieties and is the bonded warehouse next to the old dock where our flat is based. Now a modern and popular part of town it has like most cities redeveloped the docklamds into quality housing.

BostonNice, but dysfunctional bathrooms
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012
While the apartment is positioned in a nice, quiet neighborhood, with the bus station right in front of the building, it wasn’t very clean. The owners though were helpful and nice.
If you are from Canada or the us, you’ll have a difficult time functioning in this apartment because of its bathrooms. Both bathroom sinks have 2 separate faucets for hot and cold water. For a week, we either burned or froze ourselves using them. While some might be used to this, we found it extremely dysfunctional and unhygienic. In addition, the second bathroom has a similarly designed tub, with no shower. We never used it. So the 5 of us took turns showering in the only shower available in the master bath. -

In a fantastic convenient location, this apartment surpassed all our expectations.
Beautifully maintained and well equipped with lots of little extra touches, this spacious and spotless apartment suited our family needs perfectly! We have come to Edinburgh many times and this stay was by far the best, thanks to having such comfortable and pleasant accommodation for the duration. Highly recommended! -

Traveled to Edinburgh with a friend for the Fringe Festival and stayed at the Crombie's flat in lovely Leith, a mere 10 minute bus ride to City Center where most Fringe venues are located.
The flat is wonderful. So clean, fully equipped, felt like home away from home. Mr. Crombie was terrific in helping facilitate our arrival and refunded our deposit within 24 hrs of our departure. Lovely man.
Leith is really wonderful: great food, nearby shopping, bus every 5-10 minutes to City Center. All around just a wonderful trip and fantastic place to stay. -

Next to the Leith waterfront, this was a good location 15 mins bus ride from the city centre. A secure block in an upcoming trendy area, the apartment was well kitted out and comfortable. We appreciated the starter foodstuffs + tea, coffee & washing powder etc.
Furniture & fittings were fine & functional, but I wouldn't say luxurious! A good info pack on Edinburgh and a warm welcome from the owner and his wife. Thanks for the great sausages by the way!
To sum up - Good place, good value. -

We had a fantastic time staying in this apartment. The apartment itself is a great size and has all the mod cons you could wish for. As for the location it couldn't be better, there is the Ocean Terminal on your doorstep with some great shops, plenty of supermarkets nearby and as for restaurants you are just spoilt for choice, you have options of great pub food to Michelin star all within a 5 minute walk. There is a bus at the back of the apartment that will get you to the centre in 10 minutes and I think the buses were every 5 minutes or so. If we were to rent an apartment in Edinburgh again we would definitely be checking the availability of this one first.

LondonFantastic flat - Definitely recommend
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The flat was fantastic, every mod con you'd want and the rooms were all good sizes. Lift in the flat made it easy for mum (with walking frame) and sister (with buggy) to get in and out.
Walking distance to Ocean Terminal for shopping and a car park pass and space provided directly outside the flat. Entrance to the car park was bigger than the description made it sound.
Only downside for us was visitor parking, as my sister who lives in Edinburgh would come and see us and she got a parking ticket on one occasion.
Edinburgh city centre is a short bus ride away but we liked the quiet - only noise at night was the sea gulls :-)
I'd definitely recomment this place. -

A lovely apartment in a quiet location opposite the Scottish Govt building. A short walk to the Royal Yacht Britannia and 2 minutes from a bus-stop with regular services to Edinburgh centre. Loads of super places to eat within just 5 minutes walk. Highly recommended!

We decided to do a short visit to Edinburgh and we chose this apartment to stay in based upon the reviews on here. The apartment was everything we hoped for. It was very clean, comfortable and the location was ideal. There are many restaurants close to it and a very handy bus connection. We parked our car in the space you get with the flat and had no need to move it again until we left. The Royal Yacht Britannia is a short walk away and we used the bus link to get us to the castle and rest of the city centre attractions. In the evening we just walked to one of the local restaurants. All in all it was a very relaxing break and I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family.

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We had absolutely everything we needed in the flat for a comfortable stay of 11 days. Since our son, daughter-in-law & baby joined us for a week, being able to prepare breakfast and relax together was a real benefit. The flat is light & pleasantly decorated, comfortable beds and very quiet for sleeping. It was wonderful to be able to drink safe, great tasting water from the tap. Having a dishwasher & washing machine available were an added convenience. Though we had a rental car with which to venture out into the country, we took advantage of the city busses to explore Edinburgh, which stopped frequently right around the corner from the flat. There are many great restaurants and pubs with a variety of ethnic foods within easy walking distance. All our meals were above average. There's also a supermarket within walking distance which supplied everything we could possibly want for breakfast & snacks at very reasonable prices. Mr. & Mrs. Crombie provided some food items to start us off for the first evening/morning & Mr. Crombie was very helpful with directions & places of interest. The flat quickly became home for us & we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Absolutely fabulous apartment in the trendy Leith area. Great links to the city via no 22 bus (a bargain £3 day ticket takes you everywhere). We found this was agreat location as we could enjoy the delights of the busy city during the day and the go back and enjoy a drink or meal in the nearby bars where we could get a seat. Great pubs are The Shore but our favourite was The Kings Wark where you can get fantastic bar meals. The Italian restautrant is great too and so was the Tapas bar. We were spolit for choice. The apartment itself was fantastic, lots of room, very well equipped and really first class accomodation. Huge comfy bed in the main room. A real bargain find we will certainly recommend to our friends and family. Top tip take the airport bus it is really quick and cheap.

The 2-bedroom flat is very clean and nicely decorated. It is within walking distance to "The Royal Yacht Britannia". The hosts are very friendly and helpful. On the way driving up to Edinburgh, our GPS was faulty, Mr. and Mrs. Crombie were so kind to lend us their unit. With their recommendation, we also enjoyed many wonderful meals in Edinburgh.

A really great apartment in Edinburgh down by the shore. We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The apartment is on the shorefront and is quiet and very well furnished. Loads of pubs and restaurants nearby (try Martin Wishart's for lunch). Will definitely stay here again.
