Description from the owner
I have recently sold the apartment I let in Edinburgh and for which all of the comments on this site are directed. However, we are now in a position to offer to let at certain times our own home.
This is a two bedroomed semi-detached house located in a residential area on the north side of Edinburgh. The city centre is easily accessed by bus in around 15 minutes.
The house is bright and spacious, well equipped, comfortably furnished and centrally heated. Our aim is to provide a welcoming 'home from home' base for your stay in Edinburgh.
All gas/electricity is included in the cost. All linen and towels are provided.

Where to start? The apartment itself was incredibly tidy, cozy, spacious and comfortable. Yvonne and Jon are amazing - Jon made some delicious bread on the day of our arrival (and I can honestly say that I've never tasted better bread before) and the wonderful Yvonne - she gave us all the information what to visit, where it's best to have a meal and was sooo friendly and helpful overall :) Everything felt like home - besides the bread, there was some milk and jam left in the fridge for our breakfast and chocolate bars in the dining room. We found everything we needed - towels, an iron and an ironing board, travelling brochures, and many more! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back next time we're in Edinburgh! A big thanks to Yvonne and Jon! :)))

Everything is catered for in this fresh, clean, cozy apartment. Trust me when I say all the little touches of 'home' have been catered to when you arrive ie, Needle, thread, washing liquid, clothing detergent. Some fresh bread, butter, jam, teabags, coffee and milk already there upon arrival will see you through until you can pop to Tesco just across the road to stock up on some snacks. I would only have one recommendation to the ladies to bring a hairdryer as there is one there but your own will be better. The bus into town is regular but doesn't run after 7pm so it will be a taxi back each evening from town at about £5.50 which isn't too bad. Booking the apartment and contact from the owner was easy and breezy, friendly and very stress free. I wouldn't have any issue staying there again and plan to. You will have zero regrets about staying here and it truly is a home from home. Happy memories of this very Wright Place indeed :)

The level of service and professionalism was established before we even arrived at the flat for a five day stay. Our train was delayed by about 45 minutes due to a medical emergency. We had no way of contacting Jon, whom we knew to be waiting to meet us at the flat. When we finally did arrive, John was there still waiting with a smile.
The flat itself was immaculately clean, and larger than anything we had stayed in while in Scotland. Many small, but meaningful touches, including a loaf of homemade bread (of which two weary travelers made short work)!
The location was just what we were looking for. Just far enough outside of the city proper to avoid the tourist crowds, yet close enough to walk. We enjoy being immersed in the culture that we're visiting and we felt the location of this flat helped us achieve that. A large food store right across the street helped us take advantage of the flat's kitchen, saving food costs. Many local pubs close by, we had many great times with the locals in several favorites.
Many thanks to John and Yvonne for a wonderful welcome and a terrific base from which to explore Edinburgh. -

Great place to stay in Edinburgh! The Broughton area is really cool, lots of restaurants, cafés and quirky little shops. The apartment is so comfortable and bright, and Yvonne is just a star! She makes everything so easy from beginning to end, really helpful and kind.

We had a really good experience of staying in this apartment. It was exactly what we were looking for - a cosy little place which was a good base for exploring Edinburgh. The apartment was really homely in a nice residential area of Edinburgh with plenty of eating places nearby. The flat was spotless and the homemade bread was a nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.

It was very easy to arrange my stay at this apartment as the owner provided prompt and clear communication to confirm the booking and payment.
The apartment is comfortable, warm and very clean. It has a modern kitchen and a large Tesco across the road which makes dinner a breeze.
The apartment is also well stocked with books, guides, pamphlets etc for most of the main attractions in Edinburgh.
The only negative is the hill between the apartment and the centre of Edinburgh. However, there is a regular bus service which can easily get you into town if you don't want to walk. -

Stayed 4 nights and we were very pleased with our choice. Absolutely perfect for self catering, everything you could possibly need was there, and it was great having a Tesco just across the road.
Very comfortable apartment, quiet and warm. Great we could come and go as we pleased and it was only about a 15 min walk into the City. We used the bus one day which was only £1.30 into the City.
Yvonne really knows what people need as the flat is perfectly equipped, there wasn't anything more we could have asked for. We were made to feel very welcome and really appreciated the home made bread and other goodies awaiting us on arrival...a very nice touch.
Well done Yvonne, we will be back and would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone. -

We stayed for 3 nights over Easter weekend. Absolutely loved our stay in the apartment. The gas fire was excellent, it was cold and rainy the whole time we were there, so we definitely made use of it!
The apartment was such good value. Located an easy a 20 minute walk from the centre of the city, but you can also get a taxi for less than £5.
Was so nice to arrive to freshly baked bread, and I loved the Owls everywhere. We loved the apartment so much that we ate in 2 out of 3 nights!
Would definitely love to return and will recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh. -

This is very nice aparment, within the walking distance (20min) from main tourist attractions. The area is quiet, safe and respectable, with convenient tesco just across the road. The apartment has a good home atmosphere which is a rarety with rented propeties. Lots of personal touches, very well equipped modern kitchen and bathroom, double glazing, good textiles etc. Light, airy, spacious rooms. We slept there beautifuly :). We are very thankful to Yvonne and hope to return one day.

We spent 4 lovely days in Edinburgh. Mrs Jones was very helpful and waited us at arrival, late night by the way. Apartment is very clean, kitchen equipment etc are all provided. Very nice Royal Doulton tableware :)
Located close to the Royal Botanic Garden, about 25 minutes to walk to City centre. -

I came to Edinburgh for a week in March and needed somewhere to stay that was near to the Union Yoga Centre on Rodney Street. I couldn't have found somewhere closer - this flat is on the adjacent road.
The flat is opposite a small Tesco, which makes self catering a doddle. It's also not far from the centre of Edinburgh - just 5 or 10 mins walk. The Royal Botanic Gardens are also close by (about 5 to 10 mins walk in opposite direction from town), and there are lots of nice places to eat nearby.
The flat itself is clean, tidy and spacious - and it contains everything you could possibly need during your stay - every bit of cutlery and crockery imaginable, a iron, a hair dryer, a radio, a telly and DVD player - the list goes on!
I very quickly started calling the flat 'home', which I think says a lot about how much I enjoyed my stay there. -

Convenient spot, only about 25 mins walk into city centre but there was a bus stop round the corner. Also opposite a big Tesco store so easy to self cater.
We were met by Yvonne & made to feel very welcome -the kettle was on when we arrived!
Nice spacious & comfortable appartment with homely feel. Little extras like home-baked bread, small bottles of wine, (Christmas) crackers & shortbread left for us.
We certainly intend to stay here again. -

Handy for city centre and other areas like Broughton St and Botanics. Can park nearby for free overnight and weekends. Tesco opp also good for supplies

Just returned from a wonderful week in Edinburgh, where my daughter and I stayed at the Wright Place in the City.
The flat is very central and it is very easy to get to all the places of interest in the wonderful city of Edinburgh.
It is very well equipped with everything that you will ever need to make your holiday a great experience.
Yvonne is a lovely lady who made all the arrangements and made us very welcome ...we will be recommending her property to all of our friends... -

We had a lovely stay in this apartment, and our reception by Yvonne, the owner, was very welcoming, with a home-baked loaf of bread and a bottle of wine ready and waiting.
It's a very traditional style of apartment, quite cosy with many personal touches, but the bathroom and kitchen are modern and well-equipped, always a plus.
Yvonne's collection of tourism info, brochures, maps and tips for exploring Edinburgh is very impressive and will help those who haven't done much research before they arrive.
A good location - a little bit of a walk in to the city but there are plenty of buses and a taxi only costs about a fiver.
I would definitely stay here again, very affordable and so much more fun than staying in a boring, characterless hotel room. -

Sorry for the clichéd title, but in this case it's true. Being a tourist in Edinburgh is a great experience but to feel as if you actually live here is even better. At least until the day of the departure, when the only comfort is your plan to return. We've returned three times and look forward for our next stay.
The apartment offers everything you need, the location is perfect and Yvonne is very friendly, uncomplicated and unintrusive - I wish my landlord in Germany was the same.

We stayed here during the Edinburgh festival and had a wonderful time. The flat is close to the centre - walkable but easy enough to get a bus too if you're in a rush. We had a lovely welcome and loved the flat, which was both spotless and spacious. We felt at home very quickly, and saved a fortune being able to cook meals in the flat instead of eating out! We've already recommended the flat to family and friends (we stayed here after being recommended by a friend) and hope to return very soon!

This is a carefully maintained, quiet and extremely well appointed flat located between Edinburgh commercial centre and the Botanic gardens. It is a lovely place to spend a holiday, I have returned several times now, and it is always a pleasure to walk back though the front door - a home from home.

I find the apartment to be very comfortable and fully equiped. In the flat we found everything we needed, and very often even more than this. The host was available at all times, and made sure to make our stay in Edinburgh as pleasant as possible.
Its location is also very good, since it is not located in an extremly busy part of the town, and is yet only 10-15 mins walking distance from the city centre. -

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed in 'The Wright Place', It is Incredibly comfortable, spotlessly clean, and a lovely welcome place to stay. Very convenient for shopping, the Botanics, walks along the lovely cycleway & water of Leith, and getting into Central Edinburgh. This is by far the best rented place we have ever stayed in in Edinbugh. We would not hesitate, and indeed hope to, make many more return visits to this lovely appartment. Very pleasant dealings with Yvonne and all in all we would recommend to anyone.

I have stayed twice in this apartment and both times was warmly greeted by the owners, who are very flexible with check in times. The apartment has the feel and all the comforts of home, Yvonne has thought of everything. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the city centre .There are bars restaurants and supermarkets within the vicinity. It is easy to get to and from the airport, you dont need a car and you are within reach of everything thats happening in Edinburgh, for all the above reasons i would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone.
