It is a lovely location, but a bit far away from everything for my taste. The beach was lovely and the lodging adequate.

One word missing from the description of this property is ecclectic. I really wasn't expecting the third bedroom to be outside the house next to the second bedroom's outside entrance. The room was actually kinda fun and the second room was huge. The only issue I had was with the bathroom in the second bedroom. The shower head was old and green and the shower stall not that sturdy. It actually bowed when I tried to stand in it. Luckily there were two other showers. The road noise wasn't an issue, but was loud during the day. All in all, a nice stay.

Twice a year we drive to Edisto, always staying at Foster's Ocean View. Our dogs always go with us. We love the place. It is so comfortable for us that we go back and back and back, etc. We also appreciate the Atwood Vacations rental agency! On the few occasions we have called over the years, they have responded almost instantly. We have reservations for our two weeks next year already. Hope to see you PonTop Edisto Island.

We have rented this home for the past 4 years. Love the location and the "feel" of the home. The only problem we had was with the washing machine and plumbing. Also, this is little, I wish the plant in front was cut back so when sitting on the hammock or swing we can still see across the street. We love this home and plan to be there again next year!

The property was as expected, clean and in good condition. The pictures online were a good representation of the house. The staff at Atwood were exceptionally nice and helpful. The house had more than expected-- cable and DVD, crock pot, blender, books and a few DVDs. Fairly new appliances in good working order. Had a great stay!

Foster's Ocean View was a big disappointment. I have rented many beach houses in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and this was by far the worst house I have ever stayed in. We picked it from the internet and cannot understand the good reviews, perhaps our standards are a little higher. The house was dirty the bathrooms were disgusting. The vents are covered in rust, dust, and mold. The comforter on the king bed was disgusting, covered with stains and dog hair. The "ren ovation" work looks like it was performed by the worst amateur in the world, right down to the homemade cabinets in the bathroom. One bedroom cannot be accessed from the main house and there is no heat in the room just a window unit. There is a vent cut in the side of the bathroom wall, off that bedroom, that has some type of rug stuffed in it to keep out the cold I assume. The road noise keeps you awake the first couple of nights until your are finally exhausted and can sleep. This was our first visit to Edisto and we liked the beach. Some things you should know before you go: Do not stay on the beach road, too much traffic noise. Bring your own food, Piggly Wiggly cannot stay stocked and the prices are high. Do not waste your money at the "BO-B-Que." The Sea Cow Eatery has an awesome breakfast.

We decided to try South Carolina for a quick two week break because we could not get to Florida for our usual 2-3 months this Winter.
Pretty surprised! Although Edisto Beach is quiet in the Winter it is way better than the Great White North!!
Fosters Ocean View is pretty basic but good value for the price. Not exactly sure how the third bedroom workes as it is remote from the rest of the house and entry is seperate.
Did not matter to us, just my wife and I anyway, but just wanted to point it out. -

We have stayed at the Foster Ocean View twice a year for a number of years BS just love the place. It's more of a beach house and less of a McMansion and the Foster suits us best of all.

First, about Atwood: Atwood has returned to their good customer-service model!
We stay at Foster's Ocean View twice a year if we can; we have done so for several years. We were pleased that the outside porch had new railings installed so we had to worry less about our dogs falling. It would be safer for children, too. We'll be back next year, probably twice. -

This has been out third trip to Foster and we love it; I especially loved the upgrades they did. This property is convenient, clean and we always enjoy ourselves on Edisto. I would recommend it to my friends and family but don;t want them there when we're there.

This rental is definitely worth the price. The location was the next best thing to being on the beach. The property had lots of light, breezes and homey touches.
