The house is a beautiful, well-furnished home with a great floor plan. The screened-in porch on the main level of the house was our favorite room. The kitchen has more than enough dishes, silverware, pans, utensils, etc. for renters. It is located less than a five-minute walk from the beach. The pool area is wonderful, and the pool has been well maintained.
Edisto Realty made the rental process easy. They replaced one of the screens in the screened porch within 24 hours after we notified them that it was out of the screen frame. The screen was like this when we arrived, and should have been repaired prior to our arrival.
Several items that could be improved in the house: The interior walls of the house need to be repainted. Someone did a lousy job touching up the walls--satin paint was used to paint over flat paint, and you can easily see the paint-roller marks that only go up half the wall height. The self-cleaning oven was not cleaned, and I spent three hours cleaning mold and old food off the outdoor gas grill. The grill does not light when you push the igniter, so make sure you take matches or a lighter. Also, there is nothing to use to dust/clean the wood floors. I talked to someone at Edisto Realty, and she said the owner had a Swiffer cleaner in the house. We checked every closet in the house, and there wasn't a Swiffer cleaner. We ended up sweeping the entire house and rugs with a corn broom. One of the bedrooms on the upper floor does not have an Xfinity box, so you cannot use the TV. Also, the mattress on the fold-out sofa bed in the den on the second floor is not comfortable--you can feel the mattress springs with your bare hands. Make sure you take appropriate equipment with you to connect to the Internet service. The house does not have Wi-Fi.
