Spend your days basking in the sun or try your luck fishing and crabbing off your private dock, where small boats have access to the protected ACE basin creeks at all tides. The Island is waiting. We've been coming to this site for over 10 years. Next year we are extending to 2 weeks. Caught fish(40lb cobia) lots of birds- painted bunting, wood storks, eagles etc and alligators up river.

Ample space and accommodations. Great place for family or friends. We enjoyed the breeze coming off the creek and the boat ride through miles of winding creeks. Wildlife is outstanding!

We were very satisfied with our rental experience with your agency. The dryer stopped working during our stay and a repairman was sent out the same day that I called to report it. We loved the house and the location. The only complaint that we had about the property was that the kitchen was very limited. We had a difficult time finding any pots to cook with and the utensils were very sparse.

House location is great but the carpet is so stained the house feels dirty. The kitchen is totally ill equipped for an enjoyable vacation. You need to bring your own pots and pans and silverware. Put a larger table in the kitchen or more counter space for a place to put your food. The upstairs beds are so bad you can't rest which takes away from a "restful vacation." This house has so much potential and if a reasonable investment was made to provide the basic comforts we would come back and stay again and again. As it is I would not recommend the house or stay again. When we called and left a message about the dishwasher not working no one responded.

Love to stay here! Fantastic creek, marsh and sunset views and occasional free dolphin shows!! There is always water at the dock even @ low tide. The home is comfy and roomy. Very private with easy beach access a few blocks away.

We loved the location of the house and the way it is laid out and will try and rent it again next year (although one week sooner). We met the owner when we arrived and she was delightful. The view from the screened in porch and the living room side window cannot be beaten. We lived on the porch until the hurricane arrived and then we really appreciated the living room until the winds subsided and we could return to the porch. We had remarkable sunsets every night, even during the hurricane. We got a crab pot (couldn’t figure out how to get into the one under the house) that we put in off the dock and had some of the best-steamed crabs I have ever eaten. We were catching large ones at the rate of 12 per day.
The only problems we had were that 1) the kitchen was not very well equipped and if there and been any more of us we would have had to buy some pots. We were glad we brought our own frying pans and crab steamer, because the Teflon was pealing off the bottom of most of their frying pans and their large steamer pot had hole in the bottom of it. The silverware was also minimal, with only two teaspoons. 2) The bathroom on the main floor needs a curtain or shade because you can see in it from the porch. 3) Finally, I was disappointed in how it appears other renters have treated the carpet on the first floor. At a minimum, it needs a good shampooing with spot removal.
Although we made do with the kitchen table, it would really be nice to have a picnic table under the house for eating crabs because they are so messy. We cook them Maryland style with lots of Old Bay Seafood seasoning and use mallets to open the claws (not good for a glass top table).Response from The Atwood Agency - 11/12/2012

Love to stay in this house. Creek location is great for nature watching. The swing on the gazebo is perfect for evening cocktails and sunsets. Crab and canoe/kayak from dock.
The light carpet was not a good choice, hard to keep clean and the kitchen is lacking in utensils. But this will never deter me from coming back because we love Beach Comar!! -

Graet location. Ive rented this house probably 10 times in the past. They have upgraded the living room furniture and downstairs flooring. One thing that I can never get over is the poor condition of the kitchen facileties. Horrible pots and pans, bad
stove, $6.00 toaster that only toasts one side of the bread. I could go on and on. How much does a set of Faber Ware cost at target. -

The house was much better than when I rented last fall. The new tile and carpet was nice. My only complaint would be the cookware has seen its better day. All the nonstick pans are shot. The iron skillet will not sit on the stove, it has a hump in the middle. I ended up cooking with it in the oven to get even cooking. I was afraid to use the non-sticks, they should be thrown out.
The house itsself is a wonderful place, great location....will rent again!!!In the fall....
There is still some bad would on the exterior, needs to be replaced or owner will have bigger issues later!!!! -

This spring we watched two bald eagles tend their nest. Each morning we went down to the dock to view the pair and get a glimpse of the chick when it would test its wings. Sometimes the eagle would light on a piling near our dock.

The only issue I had with the property was it had an odor to it, probably from pets. I have a pet myself but do not allow stains/smells to remain. The owner should have the carpet cleaned and deoderized!!!
The house has some maintenance issues such as loose handles, rotting wood on the outside and other general maitenance items taht are in need of repair. Nice large location on the creek side of the island. House is starting to show some wear and tear, no light in the laundry room, only saw one smoke detector. No TV in bedroom and only one small one in the main room. Nothing to keep me from recommending the property or staying here again though.

Location is great and dock is wonderful. We have stayed here three times in the past. This house is still our favorite. However, several things this year showed decline. Dock runners on dock and walkway are loose and need re-nailing due to rust. Spiders and carpenter ants in the house was a little concerning and required spraying. Light bulbs were out in several fixtures including bathroom and laundry room. Ceiling in the upstairs bathroom needs fixing. It looks like mold. Smoke detectors were missing and the one that was in place had dead batteries. We still love this house. We just want to see it stay in good condition.
