Relax in the tastefully decorated living room and gaze out three huge sliding glass doors that span the length of the house as you watch the shrimp boats and pelicans drift across the Atlantic. We've used Atwood for years for a family vacation. This year the home we'd selected had water damage 2 days prior to our arrival. Atwood staff contacted me immediately and offered an alternate home. The alternate was in an even better location. Everyone - including the teenage boys had a wonderful trip. Great customer service!

Lots of positives, only three slight negatives: 1) no masterbedroom, not much you can do about that, 2) the property was at a very busy location on the main stretch, again not much you can do about that (but was very convenient to Piggly
wiggly), and 3) the beds were quite hard...might get better matresses next replacement time or get pads to cover them that are more comfortable. -

Sounds of laughter fit our situation was only a block and a half to the grocery and restaurants and shops were all around.The ocean views from the 2 large decks were great.We had up to 12 people at the time and the property will accomodate more than that.The large kitchen was well equiped and we served 12-18 people every night.We couldn't get the WI-FI connection to work,but we all logged on to an unprotected one across the street.We used the charcoal grill one night and the under cottage parking area was wonderful for our cookout.Edisto is a beautiful place and Sounds of Laughter made our stay enjoyable and memorable.

This property was so roomy and so close to the beach! Our family was very comfortable in this house. Most houses we have rented in the past were not as accomodating and this one was stocked full of kitchen supplies and other extras (chairs/tables/etc)
that made our stay wonderful. -

This was our first trip to Edisto Beach and it was wonderful. The house was great, it was in wonderful condition and even though wasn't on the beach, it was in a perfect location to get to the beach. We loved the relaxing atmosphere of Edisto Beach and would love to go back again.

If you are coming to Edisto in June or later in summer I recommend you bring a canopy--you can stay on the beach but in the shade!

My family and I (there were 12 of us)absolutely loved "Sounds of Laughter"! It was home away from home- decorations were pretty and tasteful. The kitchen was very spacious and we loved that since 3 or 4 people helped out when we cooked in. Our favorite places were the spacious decks on the front- we sat out to talk, eat or whatever and could see the beautiful beach easily. Another great feature was that beach access was so easy and close. Edisto itself is wonderful- laid back and family oriented. We will definitely go back- it is now my favorite beach!

On the front of the house, the top piece of siding came loose one night and my husband reattached it, but it needs to be attached better than he was able to do without any tools.

Aside from not being as clean as we would have liked, the property was so comfortable. It felt like home. Then there were the power outages. Every night at ten thirty, Harriet the ghost would start playing her games with us. Lights would flicker, cable and heat would go out!! They always came back on after about 30 minutes, it just made the stay a little interesting for all of us. I can hear the stories our children will be telling in the future, to others. I'm sure all the power problems will be resolved and the next family will miss out on the ghost stories they could have told. We loved our entire visit and will definitely stay again. Thanks

I found he folks at Atwood to be very helpful. The property was clean. There were some things that the ownner needs to do. The carpet is in horrible condition and the porch needs some work. The location was perfect for our family and the air conditioner worked well. The house is for sale,so that is probably why the owners have not fixed some of the problems.
