Calgary, CanadaComfortable Stay and Unbeatable Value
Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Our family (of 4 adults) stayed at Bob’s Garden apartment from January 11th to 16th of this year. The apartment was well furnished and quite comfortable – the owner has thought of many “thoughtful extras” that exceeded our expectations. A few examples of these including but not limited to: the wheeled grocery trolley (that came in handy when shopping for groceries), plastic Ziplock bags (for leftovers or for taking picnics to the beach), a fully equipped kitchen with everything you can think of ever needing including a small dishwasher, spices (the salt came in handy), and laundry soap (to use with the washer and dryer in the unit).
The apartment’s location is unbeatable…a lovely view of the Red Sea from the balcony and just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Also less than a 5-minute walk to a grocery store that is well stocked with anything you need – note to travellers that it is closed on Shabbat. The complex also seemed very quiet (maybe because we were there in winter) which was a bonus. We opted for a vacation rental vs. hotel for the reason that it offers more space, a kitchen to prepare some of our meals in, and in Eilat for the considerable cost savings…we paid NIS 3750 for our 5 nights stay (approximately $1000.00 USD). Also, unlike other vacation rentals we’ve stayed in, the cost includes electricity and all utilities – no worries about additional expenses accruing.
The owner, Bob, also was unbeatable with quick response to emails, providing helpful suggestions for sightseeing and dining in Eilat, and for his timely return of the damage deposit (we had it back in less than a week after leaving). When I first emailed him asking about availability he even phoned me and introduced himself and told me more about his unit. I initially thought he was slightly pushy (or you could alternatively say he is a good salesman!) but quickly learned that he is just very good at what he does and I now regret ever thinking that as he was the best owner you could ask for when looking for private rentals. Our family would definitely recommend this rental unit to anyone planning to visit the Eilat area. -

it has taken me a while to write this review due to personal family circumstances.
I can honestly saythat the crowning glory for this accommodation is bob. he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, his emails were prompt and reassuring, and he helped make our holiday fantasic. He has lots of information of good places to eat, where to shop at reasonable prices, and great places to snorkel and activities to experience, and my kids thought he was fabulous. The apartment was great, clean, and plenty of room for the 5 of us. the pool was a definate bonus, and ideally located, with the beach only a short walk away. the pictures dont do the apartment justice, we were very impressed with the lovely decor, and a washing machine was a definate bonus! Eilat is a great place for families and we are so glad we chose this apartment over a hotel. great value, fab service, beautiful weather, and any brits apprehensive of a trip to israel shouldnt worry, we had an amazing time :-) i would highly recommend these apartments to anyone planning a trip to eilat. -

Boulder, ColoradoFabulous Villa
Left on 12/31/2012 for a stay in December 2012
We have rented here over and over again because it is a great villa with views of the Red Sea and Mountains. We are close to everything: swimming, entertainment, and shopping. The place is very comfortable and the manager is always helpful and keeps everything in good working order. It is a very safe and secure unit with a metal gate one can lock. I enjoy the places sense of privacy The outside area is large and inviting. I feel at home here and enjoy being here. We come in the fall and winter months and enjoy a full day of sunshine. The manager is very helpful always and fixes any problem immediately. It is spacious and much less expensive than any hotel in Eilat. Nothing here compares with such a great rental. If one is disabled he is able to set up a ramp to accommodate every situation. It is a Fabulous Villa.

TorontoClean, well-equiped, and modern
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We quite enjoyed our stay at this unit. Here are some specifics:
Some of the pros: The unit itself is nice. It is ground floor from the front, but elevated in the back, with a view of the water.
Mr. Silber was accommodating, even assisting with an extension of our reservation at the last minute, without difficulty.
Well-set up for rentals, with useful signs and explanatory notes.
Located close to a grocery store.
The pool was a nice feature after a long day. It is really only waist deep, but that was good enough.
Security deposit was refunded promptly.
Quite part of town, away from the tourist spots (which was a plus for us).
Pictures were accurate.
Some Cons:
Not much privacy in the back, with a balcony above you and over-looking neighbours beside you.
There was a party in the upper unit one night, which shook the house. Tough to know if this is an ongoing risk - if it is also a rental, this potential as a problem would persist.
The complex doesn't handle its garbage well, with bins overflowing into the parking lot. In fairness, this may be a more wide-spread reality than just for this complex.
Driving is a necessity for most excursions, as it is in a residential area.
It was expensive to rent, but it was during the Holiday season, so cost was an issue everywhere.
Obtaining the key was going to be a little complex, but it turned out that the cleaners were there when we arrived, so no problem. -

Left on 09/23/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We travelled to Eilat in September 2012 and used it as a base to explore Petra. This apartment was absolutely perfect! We were able to cook and relax after a long day of hiking in the desert. We also loved having a washer and dryer so that our clothes were clean for the long flight home. And I can't say enough about the owner. He was so helpful and gracious. He made it seem like we were staying in Eilat with family. You won't regret staying here!

I do not know others preferences for how a holiday should be, but renting this apartment really made our holiday better.
The private pool was of course very important and the first and the last thing my children did during a day was swim in the pool.
You have to make your own breakfast, but the good thing is you do not eat until you burst like from a breakfast buffet in a hotel. I also felt everything went faster. You have everything close to you and do not need to go up and down with the children which can take a lot of time.
What we did not do was walk "the street" in the evening. Rather we enjoyed a glass of good wine and talked after a nice meal where there was no stress.
Actually I think that is what makes an apartment better. You do not stress around to and from restaurants (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Even if you make some meals yourself the quiet and calm that sets after a meal is great. The children are in the pool and you enjoy a nice glass of wine. -
Brambleman
London, United KingdomModern apt, good advice from the owner but not quite as spacious
Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Let's face it , Eilat is not a cheap place to find a good hotel for 5 days. For this reason I read all of Bob's reviews for his apartment and decided to go for it because we like the idea of a bit more freedom and space that an apartment offers. I have to say that Bob is probably one of the most efficient and helpful owners I have come across. Whatever time of day I sent an email from England, he would answer immediately.
The apartment is very smart and modern and by chance Bob was there checking it just when we arrived although he had already sent us an excellent instruction book and guide for all of the appliances. One bathroom has a bath and the other has a shower so this was plenty for 4 of us. The air on is very good, sometimes too good, and we certainly needed it while we were there. We only had breakfast in the apartment and only cooked some simple food a couple of times, but everything you need is there. It was also nice to have a small dishwasher and a washing machine.
I only really have two slight negatives which may not be an issue for some people but are worth knowing. Firstly it is no more than 5-10 minutes walk to the Mall and beachfront activities but on the return journey is a reasonably steep hill which those of you pushing a buggy or older people will need to negotiate. It's not too long but in that heat it can get you out of breath. Further up the hill is the supermarket so at least it is a downhill walk with all of your groceries. A nice little touch was that there was a wheeled shopping trolley in the apartment.
The other aspect is that we had the apartment which Bob proudly boasts has a spacious outside patio area and also a family pool. I agree that it is a spacious patio but it has been so filled up by furniture that there is no space left. The photos were obviously taken before the pool was in place because we had the pool, a seat/swing, table and 6 chairs and two sun loungers a BBQ and fold up clothes drier! At times it was a squeeze to walk between them all.
Bob has added an extra large canopy over the patio which offers great protection but also means that only a small part of the patio is available for sitting in the sun because the pool takes up so much space. Although the pool is pretty small, my kids loved the opportunity to get in and cool off any time of day, but again, the photos make it look a bit bigger than it really is.
A couple of other little tips...we went to the Dolphin reef and scuba diving at Coral Beach (Marine Divers were great) . Only costs about 25 NIS by taxi and although the Dolphin reef is a little expensive to swim with the Dolphins, It was a highlight of the trip and worth it.
Eating out ...we went to Giraffe, a noodle bar which was very good and, on Bob's recommendation we went to the achla Platinum grill...twice. (see my separate review) Would have gone a third time but it didn't open till very late on Saturday night.
Overall then, the apartment is clean , smart and reasonably spacious for a small group. Bob is exceptionally helpful but the photos were just a little misleading. -

PinconningA Great Stay in Eilat
Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We just arrived back into the us following a three night stay at this apartment in Eilat. This is a recent build with all the amenities and modern appliances. Our family of six each had a bed, plenty of linens and towels for the beach. Most impressive was Bob's (the owner) hospitality and assistance with arranging a tour to Petra for us. He went out of his way to help us and it's greatly appreciated. Rent this location and you'll have zero regrets; my entire family enjoyed the apartment and close proximity to the beach, restaurants and supermarkets.
