  We had the opportunity to stay at the Palisades in July of 2012 with my aunt and uncle. It was our first trip to the island of Eleuthera and we fell in love with it and the people (the Friday night fish fry is a must!). The island has the most beautiful water and pink sand beaches and this house is located on a truly amazingly gorgeous beach.
  The house - Pros:
  The views are incredible and the beach is perfection. You can walk for miles in each direction and it is within walking distance of Tippy's, a great restaurant/bar.
  The house has wonderful amenities. We utilized the kayaks, snorkeling equipment (there were no fins) and lots of the high quality kitchen appliances. We didn't have any children in our group but there were lots of games, books, foozeball (sp?) table, and a pool table (the pool room is a little small for the table - but we made it work for a non-serious couple of fun games). Very nice furniture throughout the home, though some of the accessories were a little "kitchy" - personally just not our taste. They had two big screen Tv's, which we never once turned on - who wants to watch TV with a view like that!
  The Cons:
  This home is beautiful and you can tell they spent a lot of money on materials (granite countertops, furniture, cabinetry, applicances, etc.), but unfortunately the workmanship of the home - for a house of its level - is shody. The tile of the backsplash in the kitchen is very nice, but whoever laid it did a horrific job. The squares don't line up and other tile was used as filler when they ran out. The sliding glass doors and some of the cabinet doors were installed backwards. The deck also has some issues. It is a very large, nice deck, but seemed to be a little hazardous. The slats are laid a bit spaced out and some planks are coming up.
  None of the issues with the workmanship of the home, hindered our stay in any way. We actually just quite felt bad for the owners, who obviously were not there to oversee the workmanship while the home was being built.
  Overall, the house is in a great location on the island, has incredible views, and great amenities. I can't stress enough how beautiful the water and beach is at this home. We had a fantastic trip!

  Glad you indeed enjoyed the house overall, the views, and the beach in general. Certainly, this brand new home was freshly finished before your visit. There were a few small details, some were cosmetic, which our caretaker did address. We take pride in owning this property and sure put in many great efforts to have the best despite the difficulties of island constructions. The deck is nice and large, and if a few planks come loose, they will be handled through routine maintenance. The house fits our California lifestyle perfectly so we like to have varieties (TV’s, ping pong, foosball, video games, etc.); obviously, even the best still cannot please everyone.
