Dock and mooring provide use of kayaks, canoe, and excellent swimming. Lie in the hammock and enjoy stunning sunsets every afternoon. Home is located directly on the Piscataqua River, about five miles from Portsmouth, NH where the Piscataqua joins the ocean. Boats can go directly to the ocean and use of a mooring at the house is included. A perfect setting on the river. The interior of the house is warm, comfortable, whimsical and elegant. Quiet surroundings, lovely gardens. A place you will want to return to again and again.

Chuck and I enjoyed our stay in Eliot. Your home was so comfortable and well appointed. My son, Cole and his friend were never without a free moment. If they were not playing board games, billards, darts, boating, running over to Portsmouth or Kittery, or running to one of a handfull of beaches. In his words the most relaxing vacation he has had since he began working. I was exhausted just watching him enjoy life. At the other end the parents really enjoyed relaxing the old fashion way. We would love to secure the last 2 weeks of august of 2011. Again, we thank you for opening your home to us.

Our stay at Starboard Cove was everything we expected and more. The home was very welcoming and perfect for our family. The setting was tranquil and views spectacular. This was a true family vacation, spending time relaxing, playing games, eating and enjoying each others company. The location was great for sightseeing trips. It was so nice having the canoe and kayaks for our use. This was the perfect vacation.

The view from Starboard Cove is magical. The cottage is cozy and inviting the minute you walk in the door and we all felt right at home. The cottage is filled with books and artwork that just make you want to curl up and never leave. Our 8-year old granddaughter did just that - curled up in a chair and read one of the many books left out for all to enjoy. The setting was conducive to peace, relaxation and play for both the adults and the children. Everyone enjoyed swimming off the dock and the hammock was a really big hit. Every morning we all enjoyed watching the array of birds that came to the feeder right outside the windows where we ate breakfast and, of course, everyone fell in love with the chipmunks. We also had a turkey family that came to visit every morning and evening. In the early evening after dinner we could sit and watch the fireflies from the comfort of the lovely screened porch - great treat for all. If we wanted to leave the cottage it is close enough to a wide variety of things to do like shopping, eating or sightseeing depending on your desires. Purchasing salt-glaze pottery at Salmon Falls Stoneware was a real treat and it was just a short, lovely drive down the road. Our grandchildren enjoyed seeing the pottery being made. We had an incredible week at Starboard Cove and created unforgettable memories with our family. Dan and Holly are very accomodating and make the rental process quite easy. They are very gracious to share their lovely home with others as it is a home with an interesting history that has been beautifully restored by Holly and Dan. It was a memorable week for all. This was one of the best places we have ever rented and will surely return if we get the opportunity. No one wanted to leave when it was time to move on.
