Additional Location Information
Elwood, with a population of 13,785, is an inner city Melbourne suburb 8 km south of the Melbourne CDB. Elwood borders St Kilda on the North and Brighton on the Sought. Elwood is considered by many to be Melbourne’s most picturesque suburb. Elwood Beach is a popular bayside beach destination during summer where the beaches are used recreationally for windsurfing, cycling, touch football, cricket and walking. Elwood was originally swampland, however, installation of the Elwood Canal turned it into a habitable area.
Prior to colonisation, Aboriginal Australians cooked shellfish and signalled other clans from Point Ormond in Elwood. Originally a working middle class suburb in the early part of the 20th century, Elwood has overseen waves of gentrification and is now one of Melbourne's most sought after bayside addresses.
Melbourne hosts some of its most exquisite cafes on Ormond Esplanade and nearby Acland St. In fact this area has become home to some of Melbournes best loved restaurants and bars attracting locals and travellers alike. And only a short stroll away is the beach foreshore. This is as good as apartment living gets and is such a convenient choice for those seeking long term accomodation and holiday apartments. Elwood, Melbourne awaits.

Close to city and sand beach ,quiet environment , spacious rooms and a big balcony. Coffee machine impressive. But the parking underground doesn't work. The single beds is too short for guest taller than 185cm.

Prior to our arrival we phoned inorder to make sure that everything within the apartment was in working condition, especially the split system producing heat. We were reassured that everything was up to date. The apartment was well presented, though a closer look, the floors were not cleaned and the heater in the master bedroom was not working. I had to vacuum the floors ad carpets and we phoned reception regarding the faulty heater. Very disappointing considering we phoned prior to checkin to make sure everything was in working condition. Once we settled in we were able to enjoy our surroundings. The heater was fixed within 48 hrs and we were initially given a faulty oil heater which was brought up from storage. When the young lady realised it was faulty she went to the shops & purchased 2 new oil heaters. There were no face washers provided only 4 bath towels and hand towels..
The apartment is located on the 3rd floor well away from noise although you can hear the neighbours inside their apartment. This is expected with apartment dwelling. One is allocated a carpark which is very convenient unlike the Irwell st apartments where one is required to park in the Coles carpark well away and at a cost which is eventually reimbursed. Apart from the couple of issues l would highly recommend these Elwood apartments. Wonderful large couch, good size dining table & bedrooms. Great complimentary cable tv, good size fridge & bath tub. Modern & simple to use laundry facilities. Would l stay here again, without a doubt! -

We found the apartment to be central, stylishly decorated and comfortable to stay in.
Upon arriving we noticed one of the down lights in the kitchen had blown. I placed a call to Robin at Espresso who was very helpful and arranged to have a repairman come and fix the light within a very short space of time. Additional bath towells that were requested were also delivered within a short space of time.
Overall a very enjoyable stay - the only comments to improve our experience would be that the directions to the laneway car park were a little confusing to understand (making reference to entering from Ormond Rd as opposed to Ormond Esplanande would make this much clearer). As a small note as well the foyer next to the lifts had quite a build up of leaves and dirt which didn't seem to be vaccumed at all over the 5 days that we stayed. The room however was very neat and tidy.Response from Espresso Apartments - 05/06/2012

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had a great stay with us and that your requests were dealt with speedily. We will review the directions to the car park to ensure they are easy to understand.

We had a lovely stay in this appartment. We loved being so near to the village of Ellwood, which is a very nice village. The beach was a short walk down the road through a lovely little park which had playground and bbq facilities. Public transport was a bit of a walk. The patio off the appartment was not clean. Otherwise everything else was great. Very comfortable beds. Loads of storage.

I stayed at Espresso apartments with my 10 year old son for 4 nights to watch the Presidents Cup golf. The apartment was beautifully presented and we really enjoyed our stay. The apartment building is only a short walk from Elwood shops, which is a very trendy and pleasant area. There are good restaurants to choose from and the fish and chips are superb!

We had a great stay in this apartment. It was well equipped on the whole and the lovely balcony provided some outdoor space to eat and chat that made a difference when there was 4 of us staying there. The location was ideal - 2 minutes walk to the beach in one direction and 2 minutes walk to the Elwood strip of shop and restaurants in the other. Then it is only a short walk to St Kilda or to Elsternwick tram/train station to get into central Melbourne. We would definitely stay here again.

As you can see we aleady enailed our opinion to you as follows.
Hi Jennifer and Team
We just wanted to pass on our accolades for a lovely stay in 17/30 Docker Street - Elwood. We chose your location as it is near family but of course it offers great locale for all other amenities too. Thanks to our stay we have just purchased a DeLonghi Essenza Nespresso coffee machine - do you get spotters fee? (ha-ha)! Anyway, thanks again and we will keep you in mind for our next stay.
Cheers - Lynn and Chris Wallace -

Apartment was lovely - close to shops but there were a few things that disappointed us.
The skirting board and kick-board in the bathroom were filthy with dust. Around the washing machine in the tiny laundry the dust was thick and the area had not been cleaned well at all.Response from Espresso Apartments - 08/02/2010
