FEATURES:Oceanfront and oceanside condominiums. Swimming pool, tennis courts, recreation area with volleyball net and park grills, outside showers. All properties have in-room jacuzzis and wireless high speed Internet access. Two parking spaces per unit. Buildings 2 and 4 are oceanfront peg lots, closer to the ocean. Buildings 1, 3 and 5 are back peg oceanfront lots. Building 7 is second row and building 6 is semi-oceanfront with an unobstructed view. No pets.

We have been to Pier Pointe many times and we always stay there.
The condos are perfect for 4-5 person families. The amenities are great and the beach is beautiful. All of Emerald Isle is very low-key, but this location is even more away-from-it-all.
The downside for this recent stay and unit was that there was a family with three 3-6 year olds above us and at 6 am each day they would start running up and down the condo, creating a huge amount of noise and waking us prematurely. This noise would continue off & on throughout the day, ending around 8 pm each day.
We reported this to Emerald Isle Realty (a realty firm with great service, usually), and they said they would talk to the family since they were also handling the rental. We noticed a slight decrease in the noise the next day and once again reported it and they said they would check on it again. The problem persisted for the rest of the stay and we just suffered through and enjoyed the beach and day trips.
My biggest complaint about Emerald Isle Realty is that they were not proactive about this problem and never checked back with us to see how things were going. They could have at least offered some goodwill gestures ranging from amenities, a credit or an offer to move us to another unit. Disappointingly, none of these things never occurred.
Secondly, when heading there and already in the car, our GPS would not recognize the inner condo address on our reservation sheet. I called Emerald Isle Realty and spoke to Kim and asked her what the complex address was on the main street. She said she did not have that and I should follow the written directions. I told her I prefer to use the GPS. She said she still could not help. I asked her if she could give me the address to the mini-mart down the road. She refused. I then asked if I could speak to someone who could help. She put me on hold for a few minuted and then returned with the address. -

This was our first stay at Pier Pt 5B2 West. However,we have been long time customers with Emerald Isle Realty. We enjoyed this condo and have already put in a temp reservation for nest year for same week. We enjoyed the extra bench table to set laptop on. Beautiful view of ocean from kitchen/dining/living area. Enjoyed the whirlpool tub on one of our cool,rainy days. Covered porch was awesome!! Thought kitchen needed more items-Large cooking pot for Shrimp Boil, hot mats to get items out of oven, and a few plastic glasses(Bloody Mary's on the beach!) We enjoy the area where this condo is located-not too far from Turtles conv store. Not over crowded on the beach,either. Looking forward to 2013! Thanks EIR for your help finding this place! The location and ocean views were spectacular. Watching and listening to the waves from the condo's deck while my preschooler was napping was the most peaceful experience I've had in a long time! We loved that it was just a short walk down the boardwalk to the beach. The housekeeping left little to be desired though in that the condo appeared to need a deep cleaning, especially the showers. We arrived after hours and our keys were readily accessible from the locked box, which made it easy and convenient after a long drive. I'd rent this condo again!

Overall a good place a few things could be improved:
Need to update kitchen supplies, pots and pans were pretty beat up. Toaster barely worked.
Put an outside lock on the ocean front door. Everytime we went to the beach , I had to let my family out, lock from the inside, then go out the front door and lock it. Its a pain to do this several times a day, in and out. -

We go everywhere from outer banks of nc to hilton head and myrtle beach in sc. Best place we ever visited. Wife had two siblings pass within a year and needed to meditate by the water. Really did wonders for her. Nice beach area, great view, easy access, great fishing from the surf.

We had a lovely time. Our check-in experience was fabulous. We arrived early and did not expect to gain access, but our condo was ready and waiting for us. After a 6 hour drive, that was a relief. The condo was clean and very comfortable. We are a family of game-playing girls and very much enjoyed the extra "game table" we called it. We loved the easy access and short walk to the beach and enjoyed the pool as well. Our only negative was that the wireless internet wasn't working and wouldn't be hooked up until the Friday before we left.

The place was in need of a good cleaning. I was disappointed. I prefer renting Saturday to Saturday, this was a Sunday to Sunday rental. It was not the place I thought I was renting, but that was my mistake. There was a storm that came in on Friday and the vacation was cut short by two days. This was the worse vacation I have had in a while.

This was our first time in "5-B-2" but one of many vacations at Pier Pointe. We spent a week with our 7 year old grandson at Pier Pointe, which he requested after staying here the previous summer. To quote my grandson "the ocean views are so relaxing"...and he is so right. This condo is perfect if you have kids (or not). We specifically chose this condo because the decor was fun and the layout was perfect for children. The "kids table" was great and also worked for us as a great location for our laptops. The short walk to the ocean is so convenient and we love the oceanfront deck. There are lots of grassy areas outside for kids to play when they're not at the ocean, which was relaxing for us. Kitchen was fully furnished with everything we needed to cook in after a fun day at the beach. The pools are very convenient and relaxing too. Can't wait until next year.

We have stayed at Pier Pointe now 3 times and love the location and the close proximity to the beach. This condo was nice and very clean. One thing about this particular condo that I would like to see them change is the tiny televisions in the bedrooms. We like to fall asleep watching tv and the ones at this condo are way to small to enjoy. We ended up watching movies on our laptop!
The employees at the rental agency were all very friendly and helpful-no complaint there! We would definitely rent from this rental agency again. -

We had other family members staying at Pier Pointe the same week
and we decided to visit their place before we went to ours. We were
quite scared as their place was VERY dated and poorly furnished.
When we opened the door to our place we knew right away we had
much better luck. The decorations are so cute and inviting. In
addition to the dining table and the barstools, there is also a nice
picnic style table so there is tons of room to have friends and/or
family over to eat. The kitchen was well stocked. We usually spend
most of our vacation week cooking ourselves so we were happy to
find all that we needed. Not having our own personal grill was very
disappointing. We knew this was the case in renting from condos
but we didn't realize how much we would miss it! A bonus is this
property is on the second level. The bottom level I believe would be
too noisy but the top level has no covering and is sweltering in the
summer time. The covered porch and nice rocking chairs were very
enjoyable. It is kind of a hike to get to the beach and the stairs can
get annoying so if you aren't able or just not up to that, you may
want to consider renting someplace that is closer to the beach.
Overall..we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very sad to go.
