We met for our Mothers 80th birthday spent the week enjoying the wonderful house (Circle of Friends) and the beautiful beach.
We had plenty of room in the house and the beach was not crowded we were able to spread out and enjoy the wonderful weather

We have come to Emerald Isle 5-6 times over the years and love it!!! I have been to many different beach areas in the Carolina's and this is by far my favorite. I have also used all the main realty companies on Emerald Isle and have been happiest with this one by far. We had a problem for the first time ever with the company but they were very quick to resolve it and so very gracious about everything. I would definitely rent with this company again!! About this particular home, it is in a great location and the access to the beach is wonderful- only a short staircase away. If you're travelling with anyone elderly this would be a nice house as all the living is on one floor. The kitchen is a bit old and oven is tiny though so don't plan on huge meal preparation. There were plenty of utensils, etc... The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and everything was clean. The only thing I will say is that this is not a house for a large group. We had 14 people (7 kids, 7 adults) and it was not big enough. I think with 10 it would have been perfect. The rooms were a bit too small to put additional air mattresses on the floor (although we did manage to wedge them in). The biggest thing I want to point out is that while the pool is described as "oceanfront", this really is not the case. The pool is on the ground level on the side of the house with a dune in front of it. This means you cannot see the ocean while lounging in the pool area and you also cannot sit on the main deck (2nd level) and see the pool. This was not ideal for our family wants/needs. That being said, the pool was nice (although small), it was clean and there was adequate seating around the pool area. The realty company had someone come to clean the pool mid-week which was nice. There was no need to pay xtra for heating the pool as the water was quite warm already.

Thank you for your review of your stay at Circle of Friends. This home does offer a unique floor plan and it would be idea for groups who wish to have all areas on one level.
The occupancy for a 5 bedroom, such as Circle of Friends, is 10. As you mentioned, Circle of Friends will comfortably house 10 people. Please let us know who is coming with you when you call to reserve your vacation home so we can find a property which will be large enough for you. We discourage the use of air mattresses as they pose a concern should there be a fire or other emergency which causes you to exit an unfamiliar home quickly.
I'm sorry you felt the pool was misrepresented. I'll look into better describing its location. I am pleased to know that your family enjoyed the Oceanfront location of the home and your time at the pool.

We had a great time at Emerald Isle. We love the area and the house we rented was perfect for our family. The location is convient to shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out the wrap around windows.

We picked the Circle of Friends from the internet and called Emerald Isle to book the reservations. They were wonderful! I will definitely call them the next time we head to the beach and we will "Most Definitely" stay at the Circle of Friends again.
The home was the perfect size and layout for our family. Everyone had their own "suite" with a bedroom and bath along with a room for the kids attached to their parent's room thru a bath. Very well stocked with all the utensils we needed for the week - even stuff for the kids.
It is located right on the beach with just a short set of steps down. So many of the other houses had multiple steps to navigate.
We even survived "Nicole" the week we were there. High winds, heavy rain and we just sat inside and watched it pass us by.
My dream vacation! I would definitely recommend Emerald Isle Realty and the Circle of Friends!

We had an wonderful stay at 'Circle of Friends' This was our 11 year at the beach and second year at 'Circle of Friends'. As wonderful of a time that we had, there was one serious problem and took away some of the joy. The sand fleas were everywhere. As I said, this was our 11th year and we have never had such a problem. The kids were bitten up pretty good regardless of what the exterminator told us to do. Do you all have any comments on this? I know my husband already did a review but I needed to let my thoughts be known also.

There was a problem with recurrent strong odors of sewage permeating the living and sleeping areas--really unpleasant, even sickening. The plumbers tried very diligently but were unable to come up with a permanent solution, so the stink kept returning. It was a "dark stain" on what could have been a very pleasant vacation experience.

Linen service was great. Realty company was great. Home was very clean, liked the large family room on the beach. House is very close to the ocean, closer than most on the beach. House over all was great. Great location, close to food lion etc. The only issues were the septic system was backing up daily and there were more roaches in the house than i would have liked. Overall the house was great, and was a great location on the beach. I would recommend it to anyone, we may rent it again as well.

Circle of Friends caught our eye as we were searching for a beach house for 3 couples. The bed rooms were a little small, but not a big concern. The kitchen had all the gadgets we needed for all the cooks in the group. It would have been better if the pool had a view of the ocean as we found we did not spend much time there. Bugs were an issue with quite a few large roaches having to be killed. The main sliding doors screen was ripped so could not leave that door open. Steps going down to outside shower were split and could be a fall hazard. Location was great for a walk to the pier and close to stores and groceries. We loved our stay and having ice cream when you first arrive was a nice treat.

As ALWAYS, the service we received from EIRealty was superb! Although we've never not liked the houses we've stayed in, Circle of Friends was just perfect for us! Plenty of room, a fantastic view...we couldn't have asked for more! Having the pool was one of the best features! We hit a couple of 'red flag' days when we were there and we didn't have to miss out on swimming because of it! My only complaint was that whoever must have been there before us dumped their ashtrays over the porch railing and onto the grass and dunes... shame on them!

We called 'Circle of Friends' the 'Birds Nest' for obvious reasons. The older grandkids were able to get away from the younger grandkids when they needed to as the little ones were not allowed upstairs. The stairs were way too steep.....but this was a good thing!
Everything was wonderful about the home - we had a real feeling of being at home at the beach.
If I had any complaint at all it would be that the kitchen was lacking in storage containers and the cupboards themselves were in total disarray but I guess that would be expected this late in the season.
Initally, I was dead set against renting a home with a pool but it turned out just great. The beach was certainly not forgotten!
We were lucky - only had high tides from Bill on Friday 8/21 abd we left on Saturday so it was a beautiful weather week.

We had to wait in the rain to get in the house at 7:15 pm. When we got in, dirty diapers on the deck. YUCK!! We had to beg to get forks/spoons to eat and didn't get them until Monday late. No broom or vacuum to clean up.Air vents were off and 2 adults almost broke their backs slipping on them. Toilets didn't flush. Water leaked from the ceiling fan onto the couch, table and carpet during a rainfall...... VERY dangerous. This house is WAY overpriced!!! It became 'comical' with all the things that were wrong here. I do NOT recommend renting this house. It would not pass inspection. We were VERY disappointed in this rental............ SAD!!!!!!!!!

Check in and check out were well organized. The house is well located and of an adequate size for our family. We enjoyed our stay but there were e a couple of things that would cause us to look elsewhere in the future. We prefer a deck that has at least a partial covered area and an access to covered parking underneath from a rear entrance. A couple of large roaches appeared on the wall of the living area in broad daylight and an exterminator came and sprayed after we reported it. The roof in this room leaked during a hard shower one day. The water ran down rhe shaft of the ceiling fan and fell on the turning blades which then sprayed it over a large area of the room. As I recall, all the light bulbs in the closets were burned out. The pump that circulates the pool water shorted out but was repaired the same day. The internet connection was very slow on frequent occasions. All of these comments are intended to be constructive and overall we had a pleasant experience.

We had a great vacation. We were without air-conditioning in the back of the house for 2 days which was the only negative. We reported the problem on both Saturday and Sunday but no one responded until Monday. The house is beautiful, the views are spectacular, and the amenities are great! This was our second year in this house and it is definitely a favorite of our family. We would highly recommend this house. Everything is perfect for accommodating a large family. There is a large table that is perfect for family meals and a smaller table that is great for games. The pool is awesome for chilling out after a day on the beach! Watch out for wasp nests by the pool, we had several stings before we found the source.

We had a great time ,as usual, while in Emerald Isle. The time of year was perfect and the house fulfilled our needs although we would probably opt for a different house next time.We have been coming to Emerald Isle for 23 years and will continue to share the good times from the surf to deep sea fishing and water ports.

We spent a wonderful week here with the family. The beach access is perfect...and the view as well. The kitchen offered a lot of room for a crowd and we really liked having two tables! The bedrooms are nicely decorated and the little room at the top was fun for young children to have their own little play space. The only complaint was some unwanted "waterbugs" that would show up, but the realty company sent out someone to spray when we called to complain. The home is also close to the grocery store and other shops/restaurants in Emerald Isle. Great location!
