We were at Emerald Isle to attend a wedding so we were only there for a long week-end.We had 4 couples and 4 children so the accomodations were perfect. The kids loved the 3rd floor room! Location was perfect and ocean view was great. The house is furnished with everything you could need and was very clean Would love to stay much longer next time.

We loved how close we were to the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from finding a house, to checking in, needing a few things, to check out. Loved the loft area with the 4 beds, great kid room.

The house doesn't seem to be in as good shape as in other times we have stayed there (not as well equipped) but it is still enjoyable. My husband died July 16th so it was a very different time for me. (We always went to EI together in the Fall, renting from you all.) But your staff was so sweet and loving--writing me a very dear card about Roy's death--that meant a lot! And my friends and sister were so supportive. They just let me wind down and be rather lazy! I have come back home to a lot of stuff to do, but I am refreshed and rejuvenated!

The house was clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. The large kitchen, living rm, dining rm area allowed enough room for a full house of people - including a 6 and 8 year old. The beach was great, weather was great, and Emerald Isle ammenities are just right for relaxing family fun.

Outstanding property and fully equipped. The beach and water were fabulous as well. This is not the first time I have rented property through Emerald Isle Realty - and it won't be the last. They run a very smooth and professional operation.
The only negative - and it was an extremely slight one - is that the normal exterminating was scheduled for the week prior to our arrival. It would have been helpful to have a window or two open that morning to air out the smell. -

Our family and friends have spent many memorable summers at Emerald Isle. We wondered about September, but since the rates were more affordable we decided to take a chance. The weather was troublesome because the week before there were hurricaine warnings, but we was blessed with the most beautiful week we have ever spent there. The temperature was in the upper 80's, the ocean breezes were soothing, the dolphins jumped up off shore, and the ocean waves was music to our ears. Fewer vacationers provided an even more than usual tranquile rest. A few of the attractions were limited because it is out of season, and for our home-schooled grandchildren this might have mattered some, buy we made up for it by building sandcastles, hunting crabs, and using a chart to hunt shells and identfiy their names. It was really a terrific vacation and left many happy memories for each of us. Our home was great, the view terrifc, and the combination made everything such a pleasure!

We rented the house for a week in July and the house fit our families needs. We would have liked the outside bath to be another one inside but it worked out for us. The location was good. The house was advertised with wi-fi but we couldn't get it to work at all. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances but not all worked. One of the coffee makers had a coffee pot that didn't fit so we couldn't use it. There were lots of pots under the sink and the blenders in the laundry closet did not work. The owners need to try all the appliances and throw out the ones that don't work. The deck and walk to the beach were very nice.

The owner has addressed all the appliance issues. He has either thrown away and/or replaced everything so that everyone renting in the 2010 rental season should be good to go.
If you ever have an appliance that breaks such as a blender, coffee pot or toaster just give our housekeeping department a call, we have these items in stock and get them to you with in 24-48 hours or you can come to the realty and pick these items up!
With the Wi-Fi we have IT people on staff every day. If you ever need help just ask.

The layout of the home is great (the bunk loft was perfect for the 3 x 4-6 year olds vacationing there). However, the kitchen was VERY POORLY equipped. Multiple pots without matching lids; no icemaker in the fridge; lack of large mixing/serving bowls; etc. While we were there the clothes dryer punked out; the "outdoor" bathroom is not very convenient (either in in layout or location). It is located in the carport with no convenient access from the beach. No one showered there because of the location. It is essentially an indoor bathroom located under the house. A simple hot water shower head easily accessed from the beach deck would have been so much more convenient. The rest of the house was really good. Air conditioner kicked; cable/interet was perfect. Only one bedroom has a private bath; the 1st floor bathroom is semi-private. Overall, adequate, but not perfect.

This is a great duplex, especially for kids. The top floor is terrific for up to 4 children, with fun furnishings, a TV, and lots of toys. The layout of the duplex flows well and the property is attractively furnished. The bedroom and full bath on the main living area were perfect for the great-grandparent in our group. The property is located on a very pretty part of the beach, with wide expanses of sand. The gas grill is large and new and works well. We had a few issues with the electronics in the duplex (switching back and forth between the TV and the DVD player was problematic and we did not have access to the login and password for the high-speed internet service) but Emerald Isle Realty tried to help us out with those. Having a convenience store within easy walking distance was a plus. All in all, a very nice property we would consider renting again.

We really loved this house. It was very well decorated and so comfortable. The kids loved the upper floor. You had everything that you needed in the kitchen.
The only thing that was kind of scary the week we stayed was that Tropical Storm Barry hit the first night we was there. Other than that everything was great. Weather cooperated after that. So quiet and laid back. Very relaxing. My daughter and her boyfriend found a Megladon Sharks tooth the size of your palm the day after the storm. Love this island for shell hunting along with sharks teeth. This hobby can become very addictive. Great places to eat that are family owned. I love this place. We became tired of Myrtle Beach and wanted somewhere that was quiet. We found Emerald Island in 2004. We will never go back to Myrtle. It is to commercialized and ever so crowded. Hope to see you in 2009. -

Overall, we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Reflections. With two families of toddlers, this place fit the bill. The third floor bedroom is a paradise for kids. We agonized over what toys should be brought for our son to play with. All of that was for not, because the house was stocked with toys and books that he absolutely loved. The place was in average to above average condition. My only complaint would be that the kitchen could use a restock on pots, pans, knives etc. But would definitely book this location again, and this is from someone who likes to try a different property every year that I go.
