Emerald Isle Realty is a well organized and professional group. We were shocked that the "his house", could only be accessed by all 3 units through an outside breeze way! If your family wants togetherness do not book this house. However, if you want to vacation together, but not be always be together...this is the ticket! It is directly next to the public access to the beach. The Refridgerator in the upstairs unit needs to be replaced as I scrubbed and could not remove the grime/rust marks.Magic Sponges did a great deal to freshen up the wall plates and woodwork...

Pool is very nice. Access to the beach is easy and close. The house had some issues with mold and dampness and ants. We had to throw food out because of the ants. the furniture needs cleaned or replaced. The linen service was average - thin, rough sheets. I would not rent this house again.

This was our second year at his place and our second year at EI. Our experiences with management was excellent. We had an issue with a sliding glass door, but after calling maintenance, it was dealt with. Any issues we had, was handled swiftly and with extreme courtesy. I can't say enough about the staff. I will say many thanks from the Doherty familly for making it another wonderful vacation on Emerald Isle!!

The house overall was great and a wonderful set up for all of us (9 adults and 3 kids) but I think it should be noted that the house is actually in three separate "pieces" and only connected through an outside breezeway with private entrances to living spaces. That can be a good set up for some and a not so good set up for others...but for us it worked well. The pool was great too. What was not great was the serious need for upgrades throughout. New appliances, new TVs, new flooring, et cetera. The refrigerator doors were pitted and rusted. Facilities did respond quickly to the ant and roach problem though. I suspect the ants were there because of the recent hurricane. The roaches were the inch to inch and a half variety. The house was also advertised as having long distance service...however, there was not a single phone to found in the entire house. We have been coming to Emerald Isle for 30 years now and this house worked for us and has great potential but it needed up=grading more than any other property we have stayed at over the years. So...if you don't mind that, it's great. Otherwise wait until the upgrades have been made. I recommend this property with these reservations.

This home worked well for us and our friends. We had 2 teenage boys that loved the room off by itself. The pool was awesome and the location was good. The only thing bad was we had ants and bugs we think were cockroaches. We called the realty maintenance at the beginning of the week but never saw that anyone ever did anything to help with the bugs/ants. The ants got in and ruined some of our food in the pantry closet.

I am sorry to hear about your encounter with ants/bugs. We do dispatch an exterminator when such things are reported to us. They can access the property to treat it even if you aren't there so chances are they did come during your stay.

Our extended family, including three toddlers, spend
the week together at His Place. We really enjoyed
being very close to the beach and having a pool as
well. The house was nice, although the lower level
was musty, we had an invasion of ants one night in
the kitchen and the outside grill was a mess.
However, Emerald Isle Realty responded promptly by
providing a heavy duty de-humidifier, sending out an
exterminator and providing a new grill. This was our
second summer on Emerald Isle, which is our favorite

This was a nice house with lots of rooms, but the layout was a bit
awkward. Also, the furnishings and decor was a lot more dated than I
was expecting, considering the price. We walked in the first day and
there was a big red stain on one of the couch pillows, plus the grout
was coming up in several places in big chunks, not exactly safe for our
crawling baby. (Although the rental company came VERY quickly to do
their best to remedy the situation). The view was beautiful, though,

This house has a unique floor plan and was easily divided between three families. The pool and beach access were great. The two complete kitchens enabled us to share cooking and both were well equipped. I would not hesitate to rent again.

This home is great for extended family or a group of friends that each have families. There are 3 separate living spaces with separate entrances, all with bathrooms and a kitchen. We were at first disappointed that it wasn't all connected, but by the end of the week, it was perfect. We all had our own space and family time, but still had a week at the beach with our friends. We would definitely rent this house again to meet up with long distance friends! The beach access was great, and the pool was lots of fun for our two little guys (ages 3 and 4). Great house if you are with a large group, but still want a little privacy!

Our family was pleased with the size of the home. However, we were disappointed with the quality of the home compared to other houses that we have rented over the last 14 years. The furniture needed cleaned and we encountered numerous bugs. The deck furniture that was advertised was all broken and rusty, the realtor did send over some plastic chairs and someone to reclean the house to make it liveable. We were very upset with the conditions of the home, but we didn't let that spoil our week. We enjoyed the pool and the beach which had public access right next to the property which we were unaware of at the time of rental. We've been so pleased with Emerald Isle Realty over the years that we were suprised that this was one of their rentals.
