We have been coming to Emeral Isle since 1971...at first when the kids were growing up...the ocean side...now the second generation likes the sound side and your place was perfect...the view was outstanding for sunsets and sound views. The dock for fishing or taking your kayak was the hit for our younger generation even going over to the small islands around. Us retired ones just enjoyed the peace and love your porches to do just that "rest"! You have all a family would need with 4+ rooms and amenities for a large group to cook...Linen service with beds made and even a hot tub which was used often. The kids loved the pier and finding your kayah was a treat for them, thanks for that. We will be coming back...The Jenkins of NC

There were some maintenance issues- oven was broken, outdoor grill was broken, outdoor bench was broken. Weather was terrible - but that's not anyone's fault.

comfortable house with nice amenities...great location...loved the pier and be able to tie up the boats and launch our kayaks...couldn't figure out how to turn off the oven or turn on/off the TV sound and we had some tech savvy people with us...great weather and vacation time with family

After renting a small oceanfront home for years, our growing family needed more space and a new experience. All of us like to fish, have access to boats, and play in the water safely. Dolphin Creek looked like the perfect answer to our search, and it was! We had plenty of room, grilled out, caught crabs and fish from the pier, enjoyed having our boat on site, and loved the kayak experience, too! Coffee on the front porch overlooking that gorgeous view was a plus! We've already signed up for next year -- it's so easy working with Emerald Isle Realty!

Dolphin Creek is a lovely, large sound front home. The furniture and accessories are very pretty and comfortable. 2nd master is on the ground floor, but quite nice. It's location is great for quick trips to the tackle shop, restaurants, etc. Lighted dock nice for nighttime fishing/crabbing. Running water at dock sink. We didn't use the boat lift. We bring our kayaks ( the one provided allows water into seating area). The hot tub was a bonus. We also liked the loft area. A couple small negatives - kitchen items a bit sparse and the TV controls very confusing. This is a place we'd choose again.

The home was beautifully decorated,the beds were very comfortable. All the windows provided a beautiful view of the sound. We enjoyed the pier and tried the hot tub.The landscaping made the property absolutely lovely.
We have already made reservations for the fall.
The dishwasher is a very old style and left a film on the dishes. It would be nice if the light switches were labeled. There are so many of them, it was hard to remember what turned on what!!Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 06/02/2012

This beautiful home is located in a quiet area with wonderful views of the Bogue Sound while being just a very short drive from the beach. The screened porch and the hot tub were great places to unwind after spending a busy day with our Marine who had just returned home from afghanistan. The pier and dock were excellent for fishing. We saw a few dolphins, lots of fish jumping and even a deer in the front yard. Appliances and furnishings were nice and the home was clean. We couldn't have asked for anything more in a vacation home. The home is located about 25 miles from Camp Lejeune so it is convenient for Marine families.

We had a great time and would love to stay there again. The location was perfect and my 4 yr old was able to have some great bonding time with her dad, fishing on the pier. Taste in decor and furniture was beautiful & I would love to know where they got it from.

We loved staying here. This was our first time on the sound side of the island and loved the peacefulness of the surroundings. We also saw lots of wild life including dolphins very close to the dock. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in (on par with a 5 star hotel). We'll want to come back. There were minor maintenance problems, like a few cracks in bathroom tiles and the smoke detector was off the wall when we arrived (and although we called it was never put back on).

We enjoyed staying at this sound front house. This was our first experience of staying on the sound. Would do it again, very relaxing. The house was well equipped. We did have a couple of issues, one issue was throwing a breaker but Emerald Isle Realty was quick to respond to our service call and had the problem fixed quickly. The other issue was with the washer/dryer, it seemed to take a long time for our clothes to dry, we were not sure if it was the washer or dryer. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation at Emerald Isle and would stay at this house again.

Remodeled older home. Good size bedrooms, baths, dining areas, and decks, Kitchen smallish and basic appliances. Glassware and silverware had sediment deposits. Great boat dock and lift; great for viewing sunset.

Even though it rained 3 days out of our stay and the sound and the ocean was rough, we made the most of it. It was interesting to see how the storm effected the area. Our older children did get to use the jet skis they took 3 days out of our stay. But the fishing was not good at all. It was a lot of steps for my 83 year old parents. But they did well with them. This was our 2nd stay at Dolphin Creek.

Lovely home, pleasing to the eye from every angle. Located on the peaceful sound, it is hard to leave the screened porch, even though rental includes private beach club access on Coast Guard Road. Amenities of pvt. boat dock and boat lift, pvt. deck with hot tub, surround sound flat screen t.v., comfortable living room furnishings and plush bedding were all very much appreciated. Only fault was inadequate water pressure for a week's worth of showers. This, I was told, is being addressed.

first of all i was pleased that the owner accepted our lower offer. secondly, the place was set up perfectly with all modern amenities. From the high speed internet access, flat screen tv with surround sound, unlimited calling, tv's in every room, washer/dryer. very nice place. the only problem was the boat lift. the cover from one of the lift motors was removed at one point so whenever it rained the motor would short out when you tried to use it. it was fine when it dried but you might miss some serious fishing if you can't get out there. we actually recommended the place to a friend who would like to rent in october.

This was our 2nd year renting this house and we love it! I like to kayak and love the sunsets that you get on the sound side. The boys spend hours on the pier fishing and we have even been clamming and scalloping! I followed dolphins in my kayak this year all the way to the bridge!
It's also in a great location for shopping. We brought our bikes and rented some and rode with the children in the beautiful neiborhood and on the trails of the main road.
I would choose this house again except that we might have outgrown it this year because everyone who goes wants to come back the next year.
It's by far our favorite beach for a family vacation. I prefer less distractions and more natural family time and by the time our week is over here I find myself near tears but anxious to plan for the next year! -

Heidi Barlow went out of her way to help me plan my trip prior to arrival. Michele Barlow was very accommodating and helpful during my stay. The front desk team members were professiional and knew the answer to every question I had regarding the area and things to do.
This was my first vist to North Carolina, I can assure you it will not be my last!
