We rented Top Notch Too West (Tntw) for the first time in October 2006. We have been vacationing at Emerald Isle since 1999 and came back once or twice a year for a week at a time. When we found Tntw, we started extending our stays every year until now, we are spending almost 6 weeks there in March-April and the same amount of time in September-October. It's obvious that we love it. The location is perfect: It's only a few blocks from Emerald Plantation, with great shops and restaurants, but the home is serenely quiet and peaceful. The sounds of the atlantic Ocean lapping the shore can be heard from anywhere in the home. Inside, it is comfortable, well-appointed, and well-maintained. The owners, Pam and Jerry, do a wonderful job of ensuring renters' comfort. The "east side" of the duplex is owned by a delightful family from Wake Forest who visit only on weekends and vacations. So we never have to worry about a succession of unruly renters next door. We have become great friends with the family. We have already made our reservations for September-October 2013 and for March-April 2014. We love it and just can't get enough of Tntw and Emerald Isle. Y'all come!!!

The gas grill should probably be covered when not in use. It was covered with sand and rusty. I was afraid to use it although it may have worked fine.
The bottled water was an asset and we all "used" and liked that feature.
The house was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of decks and plenty of "rocking chairs." The view was very beuatiful. We had stayed in houses before with a pool table and ping pong table - so we missed this feature.

We are a family of 12 and have been vacationing at Emerald Isle for approximately 30 yrs. We have stayed in many nice cottages, but this one has been the best by far, mainly because the rooms are large so we do not feel as if we are on top of each other, and we have plenty of places in the house to get away from each other to have some alone time. Also, the kitchen in Top Notch Too is very well stocked.

We have stayed in Emerald Isle since 1999, and in Top Notch Two West since October 2006. We started by coming for one week in October, then added a week in april. We have loved it so much that now we are up to a month in March / April and in September / October. It's that good! Views of the ocean, just yards away, are spectacular from every window and door southside, and there are spacious decks on every level for sunbathing or just relaxing and ocean-viewing. It's great to sit in a rocking chair on the deck in the morning, sip coffee, and read the paper while watching and hearing the waves crash nearby. The home is beautiful, spacious, clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The owners, Pam and Jerry, are most accommodating and tend to every need of the property. A family from Wake Forest has bought the other side of the unit (East), and they come there regularly; so we don't have to be concerned about a stream of renters next door. The family are wonderful, and we've become friends. They don't rent the unit to others. The folks at EI Realty -- especially Katrina --are always helpful. Top Notch Two West is our oceanside dream, and we'll continue returning there as long as we are able.

We enjoyed our time together as a family on the beach. We like to prep and fix food for meals. Again this year the outside grill is not working, very disappointing.

I'm sorry to know the grill wasn't working during you stay. Our maintenance records don't indicate that this has been reported so I did submit a request to have the grill inspected and replaced, if needed. Please let us know of such issues during your stay; we have grills which we could lend to you so you can enjoy grilling outside.

This was the best beach house we've ever stayed at. Clean, spacious, well appointed. Great view of the beach from all decks. Loved the master suite with the jacuzzi bath!

The house was very roomy which we need with our large family. And the rooms were very quiet...couldn't hear anything going on in the other rooms
The furniture was nice and comfortable and the bed sizes were great. The couch was a little old (but comfortable) and one of the recliner's footrest was broken.
We loved being so near the grocery store and other shopping conveniences.
The one thing that was a little disappointing...we couldn't use the 3rd floor deck due to birds...an awning would be great there.
Overall we loved this house and are planning on renting it again next year. -

This place was wonderful! The location is perfect on the island... within walking distance of almost everything. Top Notch Too West, is Top Notch! The only tricky thing is that there are really 5 bedrooms, but for some reason they have to advertise it as 4. The two master bedrooms are huge and the other 3 rooms are very comfortable. The bottled water service and cleaning (at the end of the week) are great accommodations that make it feel first class. If I was forced to pick out something I didn't like I was say the couch is rather old and uncomfortable. But this place is awesome and I will be back for sure! This was the relaxing beach vacation that me and my family members needed.

My wife and I so look forward to our twice-yearly trips to Emerald Isle and our stay at Top Notch Two West (Tntw). The place is spectacular, and our relaxing visits are always highlighted by the sounds of atlantic surf pounding the shore right outside our windows. The owners of Tntw (Pam & Jerry) are especially accommodating, always calling to be sure everything is ok. And the EI Manager with whom we usually deal (Katrina George) is absolutely the best -- friendly, helpful, and delightful to deal with. We will be back -- every april and October -- as long as we can manage the drive down from arlington, Va.

top notch too,W lived up to it's name - top notch.
the house fit my family and friends very nicely. we had a few days of rain, but our time spent in the house was just wonderful, there were many places in the house to go to. the amenities afforded us there were very accommadating we found everything readily and had plenty of space to store our belongings. we have visited Emerald Isle for about 28 years and we are never disapointed with the beach,the town or our Emerald Isle Realty accomadations. we will see you again in 2010. thank you. -

We rent East and West each year to provide a gathering place for my entire
family. We have been going to Emerald Isle approximately ten years and stayed
at a different duplex previously. The owner of one of the units took it off the
market and we had to locate another place where we could rent both sides for
the same week. Emerald Isle Realty was very helpful in accomplishing this. The
Family enjoyed TOP NOTCH TOO even more than the the units we were
previously renting.
