We have stayed at Dolphin Lookout multiple times. It is convenient to the beach, a reasonable price and very well appointed. The drive way is steep which can be a challenge for the very young and very old. But it also means great views from the top deck! We will be back.

We have rented this house 6-7 times, have lost count. Great location, fantastic family beach. Sure the driveway is steep, but that means fabulous views from both the second and third floor decks! Kitchen has everything. Looks like 2 new bikes and a new gas grill. No beach chairs this year - were counting on tem being here since they have been in past. Couple of video game systems plus board games. Your family will have a great time at Dolphin Lookout and Emerald Isle.

The only down side is the drive way as it is dangerous for driving and for children. My wife has had two knee replacements, and she could not walk down the drive - she asked the neighbors and they let her use their driveway.

Great place one of the nicer ones I have been in the past 15 years. Recommend new couches and porch furniture---plastic chairs not easy to get into, uncomfortable. Make sure you keep the steepness of the driveway in your ads. All in all, if I come back to Emerald Isle, I would use this house again.

This is our second year in dolphin lookout. Again, great location, very well stocked house. They completely renovated the kitchen this year: granite tops, all stainless appliances, new cabinets. The kitchen is well stocked with every gadget and serving piece you could ever need, as well as new small electrics.
The house was newly painted this year as well.
They have bikes now, yay! And a lot of beach gear. There is a bit of a hike up the driveway
The beach is a 2 min walk.
My gripes: needs new mattresses, and the house was not clean when we arrived at 4:30, but this wasn't the fault of this house, rather of Emerald Isle Realty. I called housekeeping and there was a crew there in 2 hours. The woman said they technically had until 6 pm to clean the houses, however the cleaning crew was surprised we were there ("we thought the house was empty this week")

House was beautiful, well stocked kitchen. Nicely decorated. An easy walk to the beach and beautiful views from the decks. Two suggestions is to get different seating for the decks, looked straight at deck rails from chairs, had to stand to appreciate the view. Clothes line needs to be bigger and moved, the irrigation system continually soaked our towels, so we had to hang them from the deck or use the dryer.

The location of this home is awesome. We walked to dinners and to the Food Lion. The upper level is spacious and very comfortable. There is a well stocked kitchen with plenty of seating. The bathroom situation was a little tight for our 2 families but we did manage. The only down side to the unit was the driveway. It is very steep but by the end of the week, I think we were all in better shape!!!

This is a great rental for the price. Most other house in the same catagory were much higher in price.
The house was well stocked with cooking equipment, plates and glasses.
Many reviews talked about the steep driveway, but if are an able body and have no trouble walking it isn't that bad.
Views of the ocean were great from both decks. The outdoor shower was great as well.
The only complaint was the cleanliness in some of the rooms. The kids found empty water bottles and facial tissue under their beds and I noticed trash under and behind the sofa.

well furnished, the kitchen was stocked, plenty of bathrooms and enough room to have fun. Easy access to the beach, and close enough to walk to shops. We did not like was the hill on the driveway and had a small problem with fire ants (they said they would take care of them)

My family truly enjoyed staying at Dolphin Lookout. The home was beautifully decorated and well furnished. Swinging on the porch swing while listening to music was one of our activities. We prepared all but one meal at the house so we were delighted to find everything we needed. We also enjoyed the close proximity to everything in Emerald Isle.
The only "challenge" was the driveway. It was not very conducive to people with weak knees or carrying beach gear. We would look for a rental with a flatter driveway next time. However, the view was great!

The staff at Emerald Isle Reality were great very helpful, from helping us with minor telephone problem to assisting my son and I in faxing college information to Indiana. The house was great it had all that we needed and the grand children really enjoyed all the games. The beach access was superb and the beach was great.
I think that the most significant thing that was evident to us was hoe much our children and their families enjoyed the house, the beach and everything that was close by. A totally enjoyable experience. We will use Emerald Isle Reality again.

For a week, we did not have a single problem with the house. The view from the third level was fantastic. That is where I spent most of my time!!
The rooms were large, spacious, comfortable. Felt like home, not a cheap beach rental.
The drive is steep, but we had fun with it, might be a problem for elderly or small children. My teens were absolutely happy there. Could walk to many amenities, short walk to beach, quiet beach area and neighborhood. Thanks to the owners for working hard to make it so homey. -

We had a great experience. Ants in the kitchen were a problem, but the exterminator was prompt. The house was well-furnished and nicely decorated. The driveway was incredibly steep and since there were multiple cars there, we seemed to be constantly shuffling cars so that our elderly guest would not have to try and make it up the driveway. Other than that, great. A pool would be a huge plus and would be the only reason we might rent a different house next time.

The thing we liked the least was the steep incline of the driveway and no steps to use to get from the street to the top of the driveway when on foot. For senior citizens a handrail with the steps would be great. Also, having shade on the upper deck would be a bonus at DL. There were no hotpads at the house. And, it took most of the week to repair the dishwasher. The men who did the dishwasher repair were great and gave us information when we inquied about different things on Emerald Isle.
Other than that the service was great. Location could not have been better for the teenagers who were able to get to the shops on their own. It was also a good location for any others who needed to shop for groceries, etc.
The houses were tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was ample storage space and the rooms were a nice size and everything was nice and clean. Wonderful supply of kitchen appliances, dishes, silver and cooking utensils.
The supply of bikes etc. was great.

Great house with easy access to the beach. Well taken care of and supplied with essentials. The only issue may be a steep driveway for small children. It was nice to have a side yard for the kids to play in as my sister and family rented the house next to us and it made visiting between us very easy.
