"The Boathouse" is an excellent cottage with every amenity we could ask for. There were 13 of us staying there, and there were no complaints (except that those of us who got up early walked too loudly!).We love to fish and crab and so spent a lot of time on the pier. We also spent a lot of time in the heated pool and hot tub which were truly wonderful. If there were any problems (one with the dishwasher and one with a dryer), Emerald Isle Realty was very prompt in getting them fixed. They are very wonderful to deal with! We had a wonderful, wonderful experience at the Boathouse and with Emerald Isle Realty. We will definitely go there again!!

Our daughter was married 9/17 at the Pine Knoll Shores acquarium. We rented the Boathouse because we have always wanted to stay there and for the room and comfort for family & guests. The rehersal dinner was held at the Boathouse. The accomodations are fantastic! Lots of space and beautiful comfort. I spent a lot of time on the screen porch! I have been coming to EI since my marriage to Melick in 1977. We have always stayed at the family cottage on the sound just up from the Boathouse. I love the sound and the Boathouse provided a great space to visit EI at a different location. Week there was fabulous!

Although not a true complaint, I would have like better pillows in the bedrooms. Otherwise, just a couple of observations: 1)We would have preferred that the pool was fully cleaned and operating correctly upon our Sunday afternoon arrival; 2)We understand that you cannot control construction at the private home next door, but you should have let us know that the noise and activity would start around 7 am; 3)Having the trash and recycling picked up at the side of the house twice a week was a very nice feature!;4) Please publicize more that you will take non-perishable leftovers to a local Food Bank as that is a very nice service, and 5)All the electronic equipment is nice, but some additional instructions on how to use all of the gadgets would have made our enjoyment of it more thorough. We hope to return very soon. Thanks for a very nice vacation.

We've been coming to Emerald Isle for ten years. The last two we stayed at anna Victoria, and while we did enjoy those visits very much, we preferred the Boathouse. The back porch had a nice breeze and it was screened in so no bugs in the evenings. The Ocean side was just too windy to enjoy the deck. We all enjoyed sitting on the porch telling stories and creating memories for our children.
The only problem we had was heating the pool, which is the same problem we've had before. When we get to the beach we want to get into the pool that first day. It takes more than one day to heat the pool. But they can't turn on the heater until we get there I guess. So we have to wait a day or so to use the pool and I guess the family that comes after us gets a few days of warm pool at our expense. If we've paid to heat the pool...It should we available when we get there. -

How can a "Boat House" not have a personal dock? - yet share one... and a very pitiful one at that.
I do wish the pool lights were working.
The house was everything we needed it to be for our wedding. Our guests all loved it and luckily the weather was perfect so we didn't have to let people into the top two floors.
Ei Realty and the housekeepers were very accommodating to us wanting to do numerous walk-throughs in-between rentals to help us visualize and plan the wedding.
The stipulation that a particular wedding package ($$$) must be bought in order to have a wedding at this property is ridiculous and needs to be addressed. -

From the moment we arrived at Emerald Isle realty we were greeted with warm friendly smiles! We were in and out of the office in a matter of 5 minutes and our family vacation began. We stayed at the Boat House on the sound side and loved it!!! The kitchen and dinning area were a big hit with all! My aunt and I spent lots of "hours" in the hot tub, laughing, talking and singing!
We celebrated my other aunt's 82nd birthday and my 50 birthday. What a wonderful place to party. Everyone had their own room and plenty of tv's to go around. We spent alot of time on the screen in porch and at the pool side!! Thanks Emerald Isle realty for helping us select the perfect place for our family!! See you again soon!!! -

The Boat House is a beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was hard to leave at the end of the week. Our daughter's wedding was in the back yard by the sound. Heidi Barlow and her team did an awesome job preparing for each facet of the rehearsal, ceremony and luncheon. I not only recommend the Boat House for a wedding or any other celebration but also highly recommend Heidi and her event planning skills. Thanks! Can't wait for the pictures!

We were married at this house in 2007, this island, this house will be a family tradition forever! The island offers a laid back, not over commercialized place to just "be". The Boat House is stunning, professionally decorated, never lacks a single amenity and feels like home to us. Emerald Isle Realty is responsive to any need that arises and has excellent fast customer service. We love Emerald Isle!

Great vacation home! Plenty of room - we had a house full and still everyone could have their "own space". Plenty of TVs so the kids could be seperated to watch what they wanted. Quick walk to beach. We all loved the pool. Plenty of seating for all at meal times and large, extremely well equiped kitchen. Everyone in the family -from the 1 yr old to 65 yr. old Papa loved it and want to return to same house every year!!

Everyone thought the house was wonderful. Especially loved the kitchen and large dining area. Having the beds already made up was great after a long travel to get there. Mid month clean up was a nice touch. We never did find the instructions for trash and clean-up but a phone call took care of that. Wish we were coming next year, but the majority want ocean front.

Our wedding party and parents who stayed with my husband and I loved our experience. Anytime we had a maintenance issue it was addressed very fast. We were the unfortunate people who had the septic tank back up on us while staying there.

We had our wedding (ceremony) and the rehearsal dinner at The Boat House. It was absolutely perfect.
I would recommend this house to everyone. Our immediate family plus of course we stayed there the week leading to the wedding. Unfortunately our checkout was supposed to be at 10 am the very next day right after our wedding. Thankfully noone had rented the house for the following week and EIR allowed us to rent it for one more day. It was wonderful.
The only thing I could possibly speak negatively about is the check-out time. It's just too early.
All in all we had a great stay and good service. The sink and one of the toilets clogged and they had a maintenance man out there within 30 minutes.
It's a great location and a very nice house. We would stay there again and again and again! -

The Boat House is simply beautiful! My husband and I chose this location to get married at and it was absolutly perfect! It was big enough to accomodate all our guests (about 130), yet we were all still close enough to create the intimate atmosphere for our special gathering of family and friends.
We were very pleased with the management and cleanliness of the grounds, pool, and house. The EIR staff that worked with us for that week were so pleasant and professional! They specialize in going above and beyond to ensure your stay is one-of-a-kind and memorable. Just an example of their diligence was when we were missing a dozen long-stem red roses my husband gave me on our wedding day. The staff were all notified and were very understanding about our urgency to find them. One of the housekeepers recognized the bouquet as something special and kept them for us to pick up the very next week.
I would recommend the Boat House and Emerald Isle Realty to anyone! We were so impressed with everything about our stay...the staff, the grounds-keeping, the house-keeping, the breath-taking views, the wonderful memories...we may come back to rent the house again for our 10 year anniversary! -

The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores had a need for an intimate, but stimulating location to hold a meeting. The meeting consisted of managers and curators. The home gave wonderful brain power, ease because everything we needed was there, and a wonderful setting to "get away" from the norm.
Heidi Barlow and Julia Wax are wonderful and delightful ladies to work with. -

The house was very clean which is one of our top priorities. It was well stocked in terms of dishware, etc. The furniture was in good shape and, sometimes, at the end of the season it is not. The TV and sound system was outstanding. We loved working in the kitchen. The pool area was well supplied with seating.We wish there had been an area with instructions as to when trash is picked up, etc. We could not find that info and usually it is available.
It is a great house, probably the best we have ever stayed in. -

We rented the Boat House this summer to have our wedding at. Everything about the home and emerald Isle Realty was perfect. The house was beautiful and if there was a problem at the home with one phone call it was fixed within a matter of a few hours. We loved the ease of acces to the beach which was just across the street. everyone loved having the pookl at the house and it was always busy with activity. The house was decorated beautifully with a beach feel but not overly fdoen. The staff of Emerald Isle realty were exceptional.Everyone was polite and responded very quickly. The staff that assisted us with our wedding were on top of everything and I did not have a single worry about the day that ended perfetly. Next tiem we are renting in The Crystal Coast it will definiteyl be with Emerald Isle Realty.

We enjoyed the Boathouse a great deal. We have always rented on the ocean front. We did miss the sound of the ocean but the view at the Boathouse was great. There was a wedding the night before we arrived and the place was still a bit disheveled but the staff corrected any problems in the first couple of days. It would also probably be wise to get the bug control folks in for a visit (sightings were a bit higher than expected).
We also stayed a second week in EI on the ocean at a competitors house and even though we enjoyed the second week we all agreed we wish both weeks would have been at the Boathouse! -

What I liked most about this home was the location! Soundfront made it easy for us to take the boat out and leave it docked on the pier. We love to go fishing, clamming, crabbing, etc. and this place made it easy to do all these! We also love the beach (especially the kids!). The walk to the beach was nearly as short as the walk down the pier to the boat, it is literally one block to the beach...perfect! And the house itself, absolutely beautiful. Whoever built this one thought of everything. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Over the course of the week, we had a few issues. The broken hot tub was quite a bit disappointing (it did not function properly all week!)...also, one of the guests got stuck in the elevator.

Each year we host Quilter's Beach Party, our annual handwork retreat, at beautiful Boat House. Absoulutely NOTHING beats sewing to the sounds of surf and sea birds, while being surrounded by incredible views of the ocean and sound. Boat House is probably the only house on Bogue Island especially designed for use by large groups such as ours. The great room area on the second floor, where we spend most of our time, is open and spacious and bathed in natural light from three sides. The kitchen, which is adjacent to the great room, is top-of-the-line. For that matter, EVERYTHING about Boat House is top of the line. And Emerald Isle Realty provides fabulous support for anything extra we might need, such as additional tables or chairs. Can't say enough good things about this property!!!

A group of seven of us stayed in the house for four nights and we were ready to move in permanently. The house is very well stocked with entertainment and cooking equipment. The decor is lovely, beds are great, bathrooms are generous in size. The views of the sound are breathtaking. Parking is good. We loved everything about the house and Emerald Isle Realty.

House was great. However had issues with the rental agency and their support staff. We were there for our Daughters wedding. Several of the brides maids stayed with us, pool maintenace/repair man came unannouced and walked in on them sunbathing, grill cleaner showed up again next day and walked into back yard again while we were all at ppol and cleaned the grill, lawn crew came while we had a party going on and disrupted our party for an hour, realty maintenace came unanounced and entered to remove garbage cans. AC condensate line leaked one night, maintenace came and could not fix and left it overnight while water was leaking on beds and wetting the carpet making one room unavailable to us for the night. We wanted a peaceful relaxing week and were disrupted almost everyday by the rental company staff. Calling them was painful, they do not answer their phone. However they show up unannounced every day.

We were all dismayed that our services seemed to disrupt that for you. In most cases, our guests enjoy the luxury of not having to clean pools, wheel trash cans to the curb, or look at unkempt lawns. In your case, these amenities were in your way, instead of being helpful and timely. I was very glad, when we talked, that the wedding itself was a smooth and wonderful event for your clan. I was also happy to pick up the hotel bill for your guest in the room with the leak. Happily, it was only for one night while our maintenance staff got it fixed up. We hope you enjoyed the breakfast for eight we provided in lieu of the $200 refund, which you declined. Beautiful view from upstairs and down. House was in a convenient location, in excellent condition and very comfortable. The rooms were large and very well furnished. The kitchen was a gormet cooks dream come true. The elevator was a little slow but came in very handy. We would love to go back again and highly recommend it.
