The location of this house is amazing- just a few short steps and you are on the beach! We had six children and seven adults staying in the house, and found that the bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, with the living area in between, worked really well with differing bedtimes. The two refrigerators (one up and one down) were a bonus when it came to storing food and beverages, and the porches were great to sit and enjoy the beach. The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of dishes and serving ware, but the burners on the stove cook incredibly unevenly, and one does not work at all. The house itself could use some renovations, as much of it is outdated and the carpets are stained and worn. If you are looking for a great location but not a lot of "extras", this is a great rental!

Your service was terrific. We had one little mishap with a quilt and you answered our call concerning it immediately and fixed the problem! The home was perfect for us with hallways for each side of bedrooms and bath - which provided complete privacy for each family. The upstairs suite was unbelievable and gave us oldsters a quiet retreat. We had brought some kitchen items from home and found we wanted for nothing. Very well equipped kitchen but could use a little bit of organizing. The location was perfect - not crowded on the beach and well located for the grocery store. The screen porch was our gathering spot. Loved every moment of our stay. And we look forward to next year.

Emerald Isle Realty was very prompt in fixing what needed to be fixed, Got a new shower head in the outdoor showwer, fixed refrigerator which was not cooling. and fixed a wobbly ceiling fan.
We enjoyed the house. It is old, and we had to be careful with the wooden railings not to get splinters.
Loved the screened porch, swings, rockers. etc. also the swim toys-tubes, etc.
Signed for next year. Would like a tea kettle

Though we had planned to stay in another house, Sandy Lane Cottage was a great find for us. The screened porch was a favorite spot, and the upper balcony was nice despite a few windy and rainy days. The house had enough space on the main level for us to gather for meals. However, the second kitchen upstairs was a really nice surprise; the extra appliances were needed a few times! Overall, the amenities were great--the retractable awning was my favorite. The inside door to the upstairs was probably everyone's least favorite, since there was no way to get it out of the way in the main kitchen... The house location was much further from the pier (and our beach buddies) than we were used to, but there was plenty of beach right out front, and the walkways were in good shape.
We hope to stay here again--same time, next year! -

We had a great time at Shady Lane. It is very centrally located, only minutes to shopping and entertainment. The nice part was that the cottage itself is not in a heavy traffic area so you could walk on the street out front or take a nice walk on the beach.
I would recommend this rental!
