Our recent stay @ Redfish/Bluefish was pretty good over all. The house could have been cleaner, and it was definately in need of new furniture (especially a sofa and love seat). The toilet paper holder in the main bathroom kept falling off the wall, and we also had a few unwanted visitors (roaches!!) while we were there.
On the bright side, it had plenty of room for us, and we really enjoyed the picnic table out on the porch.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and I will definately rent through Emerald Isle Realty again, although I don't think I will get this particular house again!!

The location and type of expereince were relaxing and refreshing - just what I hoped for and appreciated. Overall accommodations were good but showing age. Negative aspects were - I could not find any water diverter in the bath to be able to take a shower so I had to take baths instead; unappealing mildew in shower, and the door key only worked on the street side door. No key for beach-side/deck door, so it had to be left unlocked or you walk from the beach around to the street side door. This could be fixed for a one time fee of under $150 and provide a much better visitor experience.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Redfish/bluefish on Emerald Isle. The house was very clean and just the right size for our family of four. The location was perfect. The beach was very pretty and secluded. We hope to return again.

This home is in need of some updating especially in the bathroom! Had a hard time figuring out how to make the shower work. The furniture in the living room isn't very comfortable.
Other than the bathroom the house was ok.

We love being able to open the door and be AT THE BEACH! We don't want to have to mount and expedition nor listen to tons of neighbors partying at all hours.
We always visit after labor day - the water is warm, weather is usually good, and the huge crowds are gone. The local stores are running sales, there is typically no wait for a table at the restaurants and it makes a great time to sit back, relax, turn off the voice of civilization, and walk the beach at sunrise, watch the dolphins feed along our beach and spend time reconnecting with family.
The realty company has, as always been a pleasure to work with- from the tons of questions we always seem to have before we book, to making check in easy- who knew there was a drive thru !??
We chose a duplex in order to conserve on the cash flow and flew this year instead ofhaving to make the several state drive. It was a cute little place, with all of the neccessities. You can always wish for more, but isn't it nice when you are wishing for things like a blender for frozen drinks instead of a working bathroom!!
We only wished we could have gotten more of our family to come along for the trip this year! -

I have stayed here before and thought it was neat, clean and without problems. This visit was not the same. The vines growing around the steps were so overgrown that they presented a serious trip hazard. Our neighbors also complained about this serious safety problem. Once inside, we found dishwasher still connected and in the middle of kitchen, dirty towels on the kitchen floor, and love seat broken and unable for use. During a storm, water seeped into kitchen and bedroom ceilings leaving some falling ceiling plaster for several days in kitchen. Additionally, we could not use keys on backdoor, killed at least four big roaches, the tray on refrigerator door was broken, and I had to rewash many pans and utensils before use. We reported many items soon after our arrival but were not able to get any items corrected except the vines growing on the steps. It is a nicely decorated cottage and perfect for a couple due to its size and price. However, there were too many problems that should have been taken care of before guests arrived. As a result of this experience, we will probably not stay at this cottage again.

The house was okay, but too many issues: 1) dishwasher was not working at all, 2) the screen doors were broken, 3)too many roaches, specially at night in the bathroom, 4) the house needs more glassware, and 5) cannot see the beach from the house or deck, I think the house is located lower than the deck to the beach.

THE HOME IS DIRECTLY NEXT TO BEACH ACCESS IF WE DIDNT GET OUT EARLY ENOUGH TO PUT OUR CHAIRS OUT SOMEONE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE WHICH DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF OCEANFRONT.

As for the beach, I'm sorry it was crowded during your stay. There is no private beach on our island and public accesses for homes which aren't Oceanfront are at about every side street which normally allows for plenty of space so no single area is crowded.

We love vacationing at Emerald Isle and Red Fish/Blue Fish was the perfect location. Despite it's age, we found the accomodations clean, spacious and the community tranquil. Great neighborhood for walking, running and cycling without having to venture out onto the main roads. Also great access to grocery and shopping. A perfect choice for those who desire oceanfront while being mindful of cost. We recommended it to some friends the minute we returned home.

Home was excellent, but when we got there it smelled like smoke and do not believe this was a smoking allowed rental. Fortunately we were able to open windows and get used to the smell. Other than that, it was a nice home, we spent most of our time on the beach. Portable dishwasher was interesting, but we figured it out pretty quickly.
