We really enjoyed our visit. It was bonding, relaxing, enjoyable and the house had everything we needed. The rocking chairs on the deck was amazing. We will be back. The house was clean, comfortable and met all of my families needs.
Our only issue was the pool was not clean. Water was cloudy and by the end of the week did not look inviting. We tried to keep it clean with the net. But that only takes care of the surface. The day we were leaving the pool guy came and turned on the jets, cleaned the walls and swept the bottom. It looked amazing. The neighbors pool looked amazing all week long.
But all in all we had a wonderful time and hated to leave! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The Emerald Star exceeded our expectations. The floor plan (master downstairs) was great for our family needs. The linen service was a real plus --a king fitted was missing from the initial delivery but was delivered to the cottage soon after our call. Our only concern was the soiled rugs and sofas -- probably due to being near the end of the 2011 rental season. We appreciate the efficiency of Emerald Isle Realty and also the homeowners

Very unsatisfied with the so called fourth bedroom, I consider a bedroom to have a door for privacy. The house was extremely dirty: there was pet hair from previous dogs everywhere which was gross for my 18month old twins; there was human hair in bathrooms and the tubs were all very stained, there was incredible amounts of dust on everything including the hairdryer cords...overall the house was very unclean. Super disappointed that I paid for a house with a pool that I could opt to get heated. When we requested that we get the pool heated once we arrived and the water was only 70degrees (of course willing to pay the $350) we were told that the air temperature was too warm (upper 70s) to turn on pool heater due to possible bacteria build up...well I am pretty sure that is what chlorine is for and that is not a concern with the hot tub that runs at 100degrees all the time??? I feel we were lied to and ripped off by paying for a house with a pool and then not being able to use the pool. The only thing good about this rental was the location, it had great views and was just a 100yards to the beach.

It is true that we do not heat pools until mid October because our climate stays warm enough to enjoy private pools through September and the beginning parts of October. Our records don't indicate that any of the other issues which you mention were reported to our office during your stay. We're happy to promptly remedy cleaning issues when you call us upon arrival to the property.

We have stayed in Emerald Star four times now and we really like the amenities of the property and smaller size of the home (in comparision to a lot of the other homes with the same amenities) It is always clean and bright. We have already scheduled same time next year. We highly recommend Emerald Star for a smaller group.

Emerald Star was just as the pictures, which we observed many times before arrival, showed. When we walked in we felt like already knew the place and was truly at home. You could not ask for a house with a better view of the ocean from every room and easier access to the beach. The kitchen appliances were updated and the best that you could ever ask for at a beach rental! (also the front loader washer and dryer) Thanks for making an end of summer getaway for 6 adults a wonderful experience!

Just feet from the water, this house was exactly what we needed! The pool and hot tub were great and the living area on the second floor afforded a great view of the shore! It was totally relaxation. Could use some better knives, other than that the kitchen was well appointed. Would definitely stay here again!

The Emerald Star is the place to be if you want relaxation, fun and beautiful views. The check-in was so easy and quick I couldn't believe it. When we walked into the Emerald Star is was spotless and more than what we expected. The pool is perfect and was used everyday. The hot tub as well. We walked the beach everyday and collected seashells. We also went to aquarium which was incredible. I would definitely recommend. We honestly didn't do or go to many places because everything we needed was right there. If you like to shop, Swansboro is a nice place to go. They have very unique items and great places to eat (Icehouse-excellent). We plan on going back!!

Emerald Star met all our expectations. The location was perfect, the house the spacious, clean and had all the amenties and more. We were not disappointed with anything and it was truly a very relaxing vacation. Emerald Star Realty answered any questions we had and were very professional and courteous. It was our first trip to Emerald Island and we will definitely go back; hopefully we will be able to rent Emerald Star again.

great time with wonderful memories. last year it was the hot tub board broken, this year it was the pool heater board broken. even thou we did not get to enjoy it the whole week, we still have lots of great memories to look back on.

I am sorry you have experienced such difficulty with some of the amenities of this home. I did see where you were without the hot tub at the beginning of your stay at Emerald Star in 2010. I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced by this but I am glad we were able to have it repaired for you in the latter part of your stay.
The pool at Emerald Star has been heated during three reservations this year, including your stay. I don't have any maintenance records or requests for service on the pool heater. Please let us know whenever you experience an issue with any aspect of a property you've rented through Emerald Isle Realty. Our maintenance department promptly responds to requests which they receive. We would have worked diligently to resolve any issue which you encountered.

The house is well equipped with first class appliances. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Both were very clean. Quiet location just a few minutes from shopping if you can get yourself out of the pool or off the rockers on the porch.

Everyone in our group had a wonderful time staying at the Emerald Star. It had all the amenities for a super vacation. Three young children rotated from the pool to the sandy area next to the pool to the beach all day long without getting tired of any one of them. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Emerald Star Cottage for a week over our anniversary in November. What a great place - so many beautiful views and the weather was warm, so we were in the pool everyday!!
Love the location - near shopping, restaurants and yet it feels private!
We can't say enough about the staff at Emerald Isle Realty - great responsiveness, so, so pleasant and customer-focused. They made our stay so enjoyable just by their quickly addressing all that we asked.
There's really nothing major that we'd change about the service, home or anything else.

This cottage was just what my family needed. We had toddlers with us and the closeness of the beach was great. Even though we had a cold snap and rain, we were happy to be inside or on the deck. We especially liked the sandy area by the pool so the little ones could get in out of the wind and still enjoy the feel of the beach. The kitchen was well-stocked with spices, dishware and cooking utensils (especially liked the crock pot being there)and the washer and dryer were first-class. I would recommend this cottage to all my friends.

We checked in and out quickly at Emerald Isle Realty. The home - right on the beach - was enjoyed by all the family! We swam in the pool, played on the beach, boogie-boarded in the ocean, and enjoyed the games, books, cards, and other amenities in the home. The home was well-equipped with any necessary items or amenities. Although it's difficult to choose, I think we liked best the private swimming pool to play in as an alternative to the beach. We liked the beach decor of the home (inside and out), as well. What we liked least were the unclean kitchen items (pots, pans, silverware) that the previous tenants had put away without washing them well. This was our second year to rent this home, and we had a great time both years. It accomodates a family get-together very well with plenty of linens and other necessary items for a pleasant stay.

Spent a week at this charming and functional rental. We have rented sevearl oceanfront properties over the years in various beach locations. Emerald Isle itself was the best beach for family fun. This rental by far was the best location. Beach access was convenient. Finding a rental which would allow us to bring our 9 year old Weimarner dog made it memorable. The community is pet friendly as long as your dog is well behaved and on a leash. This was our first trip with our newly married son and his wife. Having a pool as an alternative to the ocean was pleasant. This was the best vacation for all.

We ha rented Rooms with a View East but recieved a call saying that property was having some work done and would not be ready. We were disappointed but we were put in contact with Sabrina at Emerald Isle Realty. She was awesome in her efforts to switch us to another comperable vacation home. We switched to Emerald Star Cottage and it turned out to be a nicer house with more amenities. It is a beautiful home with a pool (we had it heated) a 6 person hot tub ocean side. Being it was ocean front we had a wonderful oean view but also sound view.
I highly recommend this home. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchen well appointed and the location is spectacular. Thank You! -

This was our first time staying in Emerald Star Cottage.It's our seventh spring staying on the Emerald Isle.We like to try a different house every year.And we've found every house to be perfect.
Some times we have 14 people with us.Everything you would need is there.We feel at home when we're here.
We are always telling people if you want the best vacation on the east coast,give emerald Isle a try.And we always give Emerald Isle realty as the best in having the best and clean homes on the Island.
We look forward to every year for spring to come back down.i'd never go anywhere else.
I think we're spoiled by the great beach and attractions. -

This house worked perfectly for us. We had 4 children with us ages 3 to 7 who loved the pool, which was heated and perfect for swimming in May. Having the beach out our back door was great as well. The home is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a fun vacation.

We had just recently retired and wanted to spend time at the ocean with our family .
It was a wonderful time. Our grandkids ages 6 and 7 at that time, loved everything about the house. We spent time in the hot tub and did have the pool heated so they were able to enjoy the pool also. The beach was full of sea shells that the kids collected . It was cool weather but we all were able to get our feet wet in the surf. We highly recommend this resort home and look forward to going back again
