This place is the perfect beach cottage. It has great views and has all the amenities needed for a great week at the beach. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the new sand castles, but it is a clean, safe, and affordable oceanfront property. We couldn't be more satisfied.

Emerald Isle renters for 30 years

Older cottage but fairly well maintained with new appliances and siding. It has new decks which are nice. The queen beds up stair are comfortable but the bunks and king bed are very uncomfortable. Had to go buy a foam pad for the king:(
The upstairs deck door jams. My daughter and I were locked outside on the upper deck. Luckily we had her cell phone so we could call maintenance to come let us in. But we had to wait for about 30 minutes.Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 06/25/2012

We really loved the place. I appreciated the cleaning, dishwasher, and paper items left for us. Usually nothing is there, we always bring our own but it is nice to have extra. The duplex was comfortable and bright, everything there you could need. I only have a few suggestions, the door to the upper deck would stick. I got stuck outside 2 times and had to call for my husband to get the door open. He had a hard time doing that. We would prop it open after that as to not get stuck out side.I also wish the decks had privacy walls between the 2 duplexes. We come to the beach to get away from people and without the walls you can't. We were lucky no one was in the other one. We would love to come back if these things were addressed.

The staff at Emerald Isle Realty helped us make our booking/stay stress free and a trip to remember. If we ever plan on taking a trip there again, I would definately go through them. The location was great. The house was older,but clean and well stocked. We plan to make reservations to stay there again.

We love the view and confort. Great convenience of right on the beach and not far from the pier.
Glasses, coffee pot and some dishes did not appear clean.

The house was ok. We had a few issues: dryer did not work, overflow to AC leaked from ceiling, gas grill had no gas. When we called EI Realty, the gals there were very nice. The items were taken care of within a couple of days. The house could have been a little cleaner and the ants were bad but the view was worth it. We had a great time, weather ok, but the best part was the dolphin shows!!! What a week for the dolphins. I have been coming to EI for 36 years and I have never seen the dolphins like this year.

We shared the house with a relative- it worked out great. The house has great beach access and nice porch with a great view. We had problems with the air-conditioning, as far as keeping it consistently cool. The carpeting was quite worn and stained. Overall the house was simple and perfect for our grandchildren. We have stayed in this house at least three times.

As always it was WONDERFULL!!!! The house and it's view are tremndous!!! The entire family agrees, and if your 20 something and teenagers agree with you ,you stick with it. It is a tradition for the last 20 years and we will try to keep it going. I will recommend house and area to everyone!!!

3 FRIENDS AND I SPEND A VERY ENJOYABE WEEK AT THE BEACH AND HAD A GREAT TIME. PICKING UP OUR KEY AND FINDING OUR WAY TO THE HOUSE WAS EASY AND STRESS FREE. THE HOUSE IT SELF WAS NICE, ALL THOUGH NOT AS UPDATED AS IT LOOKED ON THE WEBSITE PICTURES ESPECIALLY THE BATHROOMS. THE CARPET WAS STAINED, AND WE CALLED TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS KNOWN THE STAIN WAS THERE BEFORE WE ARRIVED. THE HOUSE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED TO BE COMFORTABLE ALTHOUGH THINGS WERE ON THE WORN SIDE . THE VIEW IS LOVELY AND AND BEING ABLE TO SIT ON THE DECK IN THE MORNING AND WATCH THE DOLPINS GO BY WAS GREAT! THIS HOUSE NEEDS SOME ATTENTION AND MODERNIZATION. I WOULD ONLY RENT IT AGAIN IF IT WERE UPDATED.

Sadly, we do get little critters in our houses occasionally, usually after a big storm. It's the nature of iving on a warm southern Island. They will pop up in a house, stay for a few days, and then move back outside when it's warm and dry. This means that no particular house has a bug problem. I'm glad to see our customer service agent offered to supply a cooler and ice while our maintenance technicians searched for the required parts to fix the fridge. Lucky that you had the second refrigerator to keep the food cool while we tried to fix the first one.
