air wasn't working when we got there but a repair man came
with two hours and no problems after that

Nicely decorated and very comfortable surroundings. A few suggestions, hardwood floors, comfortable bar stools and nicer deck chairs. Very poor lighting in the car port.

Overall, it was a very nice week spent at a comfortable home by the beach. The biggest turn-off was that we didn't have any sheets our first night and even though I called the "emergency" number, no one returned my call. I had to call again first thing next morning before linens were delivered. There were ants in the bathrooms and kitchen, but nothing to the point where we couldn't handle it.

We loved the location and the view. However, there were a few disappointing features with the house. The unusable front door (locked and unknown to us until a delivery came) which I felt should have been known about and fixed before being rented. I considered it a fire hazard. The vertical blinds had slats on the floor when we arrived and more fell when we tried to move them. There were paint cans left in an unlocked hall closet which should not have been there since children were in the house. Also, the rugs were spotted and in need of cleaning. I feel it would not take much to improve the condition of the house and it would be a great spot but not for me.
I would even suggest that if the property were in better condition you may even be able to charge a higher rent.
If I rent a property it is with the hope that it not be in worse shape than my own home and be paying money to rent it.Response from Emerald Isle Realty, Inc - 09/24/2011

Fairless Hills PAIt was great - the house was nice with all the essentials.

The only problem were the ants in the kitchen that were disgusting. But housekeeping contacted the owner and an exterminator came and sprayed and that took care of the problem.

the house had a very nice view of the ocean being in the second row.but the house had a few things wrong that we think if properly maintained by the cleaning crew, it would fill more like home to us. also the screen doors was missing, and the lower level was very sandy. the beds were nice.

Great beach house. Well furnished, comfortable and pleasant.
A few problems included:
1. Linen was left in the basement with no note to tell us this. We spent the first night without linen and towels.
2. The key lock on the front door jammed and could not be opened. Also the screen door on the balcony fell off. Maintenance was called twice but did not attend while we were there. -

We had grandchildren in and out all month and the access to the beach was right accross the street.The home was fine.We had some maintenence issues that were taken care of quickly.We could see the water and hear the ocean.All in all an excelent value.

We have been coming to vacation in North Carolina for close to 10 years. Housing rentals have always depended on the size of the family each year. We have been through some nice places and some not so nice places over the years. Sunset Dream West was a perfect size for the group we had this year. Each person had their own room, all of which were spacious for a week of vacation living. The kitchen was recently remodeled and well-equipped for a family of over 10! The living room was comfortable, and even came equipped with cable and wi-fi. Plenty of storage for beach chairs and boogie boards also. My only complaint would be the lack of information that was left by the realty company (i.e. things to do, coupons, etc.) They also did not respond to one of my phone calls for hours. They were still very friendly and helpful once I was able to contact them. Overall it was another wonderful stay for me and my family!!!

Just a short walk away across a street and a dune on the middle row,
this house was very well suited to beach activities. We had surfers
among us, beach combers, swimmers and just sitters. With the
downstairs main door by the garage and the outdoor shower, sand
was kept outside and to a minimum inside. The upstairs living areas
stayed free of beach debris. The living area was high enough to see the
ocean --good for monitoring waves and light enough to make being
indoors very pleasant. The living area was very spacious and
comfortable. -
