We truly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage! The layout is comfortable and it is well-furnished. We had a plumbing problem, and it was resolved immediately. It is walking distance to the town, and has wonderful beachfront. We would definitely stay in aquatic Paradise West again!

We actually rented both sides (East and West) in august 2012. This was the first time that we have done this and it was perfect for our growing family of young adults and 2 grandkids (including great grandmother. Had some discomfort about being in walking distance to the pier especially since a set of golf clubs were stolen from the porch overnight. We learned our lesson. The golf set was found sometime later after our arrival home and sent to us.

The only thing I would have liked would have been screens for the sliding doors. I can totally understand how that might not work with dog guests, but we would have loved it with our cat.

Emerald Isle Realty (Susan Fowler) was very helpful in finding a place on the beach that was nicely renovated, very clean and had wonderful ocean views both from the 2 bedrooms as well as from the deck off of the living room. The kitchen was well stocked...a must as we love to cook and the location was perfect...just what we wanted. We loved the house and the monthly rental price was very reasonable. The laundry room was clean and conveniently located and the maintence crew responded quickly to our needs. The only drawback was not having screens on the patio doors, which we did leave open as the weather was such that the a/C was not needed,and we did get flies in the house. The stairs to the beach on the lower level were a little tricky to maneauver with beach equipment as they were narrow and steep. Overall though we were very pleased and would rent the house again. One question though, has the owner considered putting up a longer petition between the 2 sides to allow for privacy..we were lucky though in this respect as the people renting on the other side were gone a lot and we were able to let our little dog out on the deck with us and not worry about disturbing someone or running into a dog(s) from the other side.

The service is excellent. Emerald Isle Realty is very much attuned to the needs of their renters. They came in a very timely manner to replace the gas in the grill and to fix the leak under the sink. They were very helpful with our needs. The house is beautiful and the views of the ocean are magnificent. The dolphins come by frequently and play around for you. The kitchen is furnished for all needs. If you don't want to cook, there are plenty of good restaurants close by. Enjoyed the EI Christmas parade and the flotilla in Swansboro. Would love to call EI my home... Ei Realty is fantastic...

My husband, 2 teenage daughters and 2 nieces enjoyed a relaxing week on the beach and our stay in aquatic Paradise West. We found the property to be very roomy, comfortable and suited our needs. Nicely decorated too. The master bedroom downstairs was great for us and the other 3 bedrooms upstairs were perfect for the kids. Lots of privacy for everyone.
The kitchen could have been stocked with more cooking supplies, as we did most of our meals at the cottage. For those who have never stayed, don't be alarmed by the cloudy haze on the silverware, glassware and dishes. It is just due to the water. It is a little annoying though. Not sure how to get rid o that or if it is possible.
We loved the location of the cottage being so close to the pier, grocery, surf shops, etc. Didn't have to drive forever to get to all the things you need. We felt comfortable allowing the kids to walk to the pier for ice cream alone. The beach access from our decking to the sand was awesome and private. As for the dishes, this residue is caused by the local water. You can remedy this by using a rinse aid such as Lemi-shine in your dishwasher. Sometimes this is hard to find but Tang drinking powder works almost as well.

The house is in a great location and the view of the ocean from the decks was just breath-taking! We spent alot of time on the beach and there was great access from the private boardwalk for the duplex. The negative things were the house is not situated for the elderly due to the many steps to get up to the front door and the beach, the last set of steps to the beach were narrow and steep. The floor plan was not the most ideal for the king and Queen bedded rooms, which were located on the street side or away form the ocean side of the house. The house cleaning needed to be more thorough than it was due to an unknown substance left on the slanted carpet in the closet above the stairwell. We just did not use this space.
All in all we still had a great time and would come back again! -

House very clean, very comfortable, blankets, well equipped kitchen. Ocean views practically out of every room. Ocean front for most. Dolphins swam by everyday. We aren't use to stairs and being in our 60's it was a little difficult to manage with a dog multiple times every day for my husband.
I say my stay was wonderful!!!
