This was our first stay at the Gentry. We most liked the access point directly across the street. We had linens delivered and they were plentiful. This made the second row house a great deal since we did not have to lug our daily beach gear up and down the street. We found the house to be very clean. The kitchen is well stocked if you like to cook your own meals as we do. The laundry room has new machines. The out side showers are private except the one designed for getting the sand off your feet. One upgrade would be a king size bed but the queens were comfortable and everyone slept well. Our only issue was the refrigerator must have been off the week prior to our visit. It took 48 hours to get cold and two people came out to look at it. I would suggest the power be turned back on a couple of days before your guests arrive. We had to buy ice to protect our food in coolers. Other than that inconvenience we enjoyed our stay.

I'm unsure why it took the refrigerator that amount of time to cool as it isn't our practice to turn such appliances off between stays. I am happy that our maintenance department was quick to dispatch someone to look at it and that it did cool for you.

We had a very nice stay at the Gentry cottage. The location is great and our kids of course enjoyed the beach being as close as it is.The only negative was it could have been cleaner when we checked in.

I look forward to our 2 weeks at Emerald Isle all year long. Thinking of our times at the beach is a major stressbusterfor me. We have been coming to EI for 20 years and to the Gentry cottage for about 10. It has a great location and is kept in good condition. We love the porch, the view, the good kitchen facilities, the outside shower, just about everything!

2010 marked my family's 19th straight year at the Gentry. Needless to say, we feel like we are coming home each June when we return for a week at this wonderful cottage. We could not be happier or more pleased with the cottage or the services offered by EI Realty. Our children have grown up here and we love it. Hope to return another 19 years.

Older home- in fantastic shape! Bedrooms on opposite sides of house, 2 outdoor enclosed showers that keep the sand out of the house! No bells and whistles, but fantastic large porch w/ swing and gate at stair entry to keep kids safely on porch. Pull-in carport, great for skating on rainy days, washer and dryer located in garage area as well. View of ocean over the dunes- house located directly across street from public access.
Great place to visit and spend time with family. We have come to this house for many years and hope to continue to book there! -

There were two brothers and two sisters, plus one sister-in-law who stayed at Gentry Cottage for the second year. Our vacation has been at about the same time each year for the past twenty years.
We are always impressed by the places we rent, but the Gentry Cottage wins the prize! The decor is wonderful, the rooms spacious, the front porch and back porch are ideal for lounging or listening to the rain and/or watching the waves. It's only one street behind the beach with a very convenient access walk so coming and going to the sand is easy. It's very conducive to a relaxing time away from the many distractions and disappointments life throws at you on a daily basis. One of the best things we like is the number of showers available - 2 on the ground floor and 2 full baths on the main floor. No waiting for someone to get out so you can get in. I can't think of anything I liked the least. We were very happy to be able to stay in Gentry once again and have made our reservations for next year - God willing and the creek don't rise! -

The Gentry home is truly our home away from home..we've stayed there twice in the past 4 years and would have stayed there last year, had we been able to get our reservation completed in time. Beach access, roomy, laid-back, two open decks, lots of yard space, and underneath storage/play area for kids when raining etc...Overall a great space for our annual weekly beach trips.
