One of the best things was the outside hot/cold shower. Most of us used that, sometimes twice a day. It's such a great place to be.

Thank you for the oppertunity to tell you about our trip. We love Emerald Isle. We love the beach, the light house, Beaufort, the old fort, the food . . . the food! But I must say that we were disappointed with our home rental this year. "Jaws" was adequate, but for the amount of money it cost to rent this house for one week, I expect better. The exterior of the house was horrible. When we were going down the street we actually said "that house needs work" before we realized it was our! Please --- a large Painted duct tape patch on the front of the house. Spray paint on the trim. Inside was better, but it was 80 degrees! We called to complain about the air conditioner and no one ever came or called us back. I am sure it was the filters because all the vents and ducts were covered with a thick layer of dust! It did cool in the dark night, but during the day, it could not keep up. The toilets kept getting clogged and we had to go buy a plunger because the one in the closet was dry rotted. (we left it for the next family) And Roaches! Very large Dark Roaches, especially in the 2 lower bedrooms that faced the ocean. Our sheet delivery had no sheets for the king size beds (but this was corrected the next day). I must say it was a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice functional kitchen with a large table for a large family. But in this ecomomy, I want better for my money. Not more. Just better. I am sorry, but we were very dissapointed with our rental this time.

I'm happy to let you know that the exterior of Jaws has been repaired and painted. Work has been completed on the decks and stairs, as well as some updates added to the interior. I trust you, and other guests of Jaws, will be pleasantly surprised when you visit again.

We really had a wonderful time at the beach with our family. We stayed "jaws" which is a wonderful house for a family. It's a bit rustic and artistic decor. It's very functional for a group of various ages. On the down side, the exterior on the street side needs work, it looks a bit run down. For example, duct tape, painted the same color as the paint, is holding a patch on where there had been a large decorative fish on the wall near the outside front door. It would be nice if that were repaired. Otherwise, we loved the place!

Our family group consists of 6 adults (2 elderly) & 4 kids..all under 10. We have been to 4 houses on the atlantic coast and this one is the best by far. It's older but was clean and very convenient. Only a few steps up from the driveway and Whala..your pretty much on the beach. the deck is very large, has two showers (1 covered), benches, rocking chairs, and 2 picnic tables. It extends all the way to the beach so you only have to walk down approx. 5 steps to be in the sand. Also, there is built-in storage for your chairs and unbrellas near beach so you don't have to drag them to and from the house...not that it's that far anyway (about 40 feet). The minimal stairs perk was a must for the elderly couple in our group. The two king rooms in the home were large and (like the kids bunk room) had their own full bathrooms. The description on the website doesn't really do the house justice as we found the house to be way more appealing than anticipated after viewing the pics on the realty website. The kitchen was well stocked with usefull items and a large fridge with an ice maker. There was no outside grill but we found a G Foreman Grill in the kitchen! The ocean view was just perfect from the deck or even inside the house. The beach has soft sand and not crowded. This is the 2nd time we have rented through Emerald Isle Realty and we are 100% satisfied with their customer service. Easy check in...you don't even have to leave your car unless you want to go inside for some free ice cream. Only negetive about the house is that: There is no outside grill. In some places deck nails have come loose and need to be hammered in. There was no remote for the main DVD player but that didn't bother us. All in all this house is great and we will be returning next year.

We really liked the floor plan of the house, it was just what our family needed. There was plenty of together space and away space all on the main floor. We loved the way the owners decorated it. It was funky, modern in an older home, so the house didn't seem old. It was also located on a good part of the beach. We think you should keep this house a secret so we can rent it whenever we want to!

This house could be beautiful. Besides the fact it is infested with cockroaches, there is no grill. I have stayed in beach houses since 1992. While it is a lovely lay-out, and the location is wonderful, this was by far the worst, most cheaply furnished home for the price paid that we have ever rented. I would never rent from this agency again. And i will be sure to tell others to stear clear.
