Description from the owner
It's a very quiet complex in an absolutely perfect location. One block from the ocean cliff and directly between Swamis and Moonlight Beach. Also is 2 blocks from Main Street in Encinitas - a very short walk to many bars, restaurants, yoga studios, Whole Foods, etc. You really don't need to get in the car at all - everything is in walking distance!
Inside is as relaxing as can be. Spotless and minimal. Hardwood floors, solid hammock to relax and read a book in, full kitchen with gas stove, leather couch, writing desk, full library with hundreds of classic books, fish tank. Basically an ideal vacation spot in an ideal location.

Harrington, QuebecVery enjoyable stay!
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Having stayed in a "chain" motel in the Encinitas area, several years ago, we were delighted to find this apartment, conveniently located near everything we required during our lengthy visit. An automobile was not required as public transit is available to all southern California locations. Walking to the Pacific Ocean and to the downtown area is so easy and there were plenty of things to keep us busy. It was nice to have no televison for six weeks, although the free wireless internet was very helpful. Jon's extensive library gave us everything we needed for enjoyable reading.
All arrangements we had made with the proprietor were delivered as promised which was very gratifying as we live several thousand miles away.
We as a retired couple, have travelled to many places and we highly recommend this experience. You will not find a more hospitable and honest owner. -

I can not add much to all the other wonderful reviews! Jon was a great resource and very easy to work with. The apartment was simple, clean, and well suited for a cozy getaway. The ocean and sunset lookout on I street was great! Encinitas is a little gem with great atmosphere and lovely beaches. Thank you!

Many thanks to Jon for allowing me to stay. Encinitas is a great oceanside small beach town. Very close to all that you need (bars, restaurants, Whole Foods). The area is really quiet.
The apartment itself is nice, bed very comfortable. Being British I wouldn't have minded a kettle :)
All in all, Encinitas is a great location. In between two beaches it is ideal for walking to the beach anytime.
Jon was great as a host, providing all necessary details.
Highly recommended! -

Phoenix, AZPerfect location, relaxing, good value

This apartment is a block from a great sunset lookout over the ocean and a block from restaurants, bars, and shops in town. My boyfriend and I used a triathlon in Oceanside as an excuse to take a long weekend on the coast, and this spot was just what we needed. We ran on the beach, watched surfers at Swami's, lounged around and read books (this rental has a great collection), checked out galleries, and ate some amazing Peruvian food nearby. You could take the train here and not have to drive at all. Great value and the owner was easy to work with. There's no TV which is a plus in my book, but could have used a tea pot or coffee maker. Overall this is a good getaway!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. The apartment is very clean, comfortable and in a quiet complex only a block from the bluff. It's close to everything in downtown Encinitas and even closer to the beach! Thanks again Jon, we really enjoyed ourselves!

Really nice visit. Apartment is very clean and nicely decorated. Great location - close to beach, shops, good restaurants. Everything is within walking or biking distance. Bed is very comfortable and warm. I especially enjoy the wall of books and the hammock. I spent many hours relaxing with a cup of tea reading there! Thanks to Jon, the owner, for a quick and easy check in. The apartment complex is very nice too. Small and open. The apartment has a nice view of the central courtyard. Not being familiar with the Encinitas area, we called Jon once for recommendations on where to eat and he was really helpful and nice. Best of all is the price. This place is definitely the most affordable in the area, which before I arrived, gave me some second thoughts - you get what you pay for, right? Fortunately, the apartement far exceeded my expectations and proved to be a diamond in the rough.

Oak Hills, CACharming 1 bedroom walking distance to the beach!
Left on 11/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I have stayed here a couple of times with my boyfriend on a vacation to San Diego. He likes to surf and bike, and I like to eat:), so this place was convenient to both because there were so many great things so close by. There's tons of restaurants (different ethnic foods too - so tasty! I recommend East Village), and the beach is right down the street with amazing hilltop ocean views when bike riding. And it's all just minutes of walking distance from the apartment!
It feels more like a cottage in this small apartment complex, plus it's cozy inside and very open. The apartment is delightful and clean, and has simple yet tasteful furniture. The place offers many interesting books, a very solid hammock, great mattress (Tempurpedic), and good location within the complex too. It's too easy to relax inside this beach apartment, yet minutes away from lots of fun shops, the famous Meditation Gardens, and the night life with people from all around. During the different times we stayed here, we once enjoyed a Cuban band in a mini plaza (next to a Café) on a weekend and a street fair the next time on the main road, just down the street. We love the atmosphere in Encinitas!! The neighbors are friendly and very helpful too.
The rental set up with Jon was too easy. He was trustworthy throughout the entire process. We found his ad to be subtle after our stay here. Everything in the ad is accurate and much more. The price is more than just right - look around nearby - this place is in the heart of Encinitas, it doesn't get any closer or less expensive. The price was lower here than at a hotel a few miles north. We had all the basic living necessities all around the apartment and the flexibility to contact Jon at any time. We recommend this place for people that are looking for tranquility, but still an active environment. If this is what you are looking for, you will not go wrong in choosing to stay in this comfortable apartment in such a charming town!

I stayed here for a week in late july, coordinated with the 1st full week of racing at delmar. Great access to all the fun spots in Encinittas, Surfing at Swamis and San Elijo beach, and easy bus or train access everywhere else up and down the coast. The apartment is in a lovely quiet complex, close to yoga and morning fresh croissants. Highly recomend
