Brief Description: The Blaine Creek Home is a passive solar home with great views. Blaine Spring Creek is on the property, and it is just a short walk to the Madison River. The rural, streamside location is wonderful fo...r wildlife viewing and excellent

for fishing. From the back deck of the home, you have incredible views with the Madison River winding its way across the valley. The wide open valley views are complemented by the magnificent Madison range. It's truly a magical spot!

General location: This home is located at Varney Bridge in the Madison Valley, between the towns of Ennis and West Yellowstone, Montana. It is approximately 10 miles from Ennis, and 50 miles from West Yellowstone.

Bedrooms and baths: Blaine Creek Home has three bedrooms, a loft sleeping room and two full bathrooms. The downstairs level of the home has three of the bedrooms, with a king size bed in one room. The other two bedrooms each have two twin beds. One full

bath with a beautifully tiled shower is located out in the hall and shared by these three bedrooms. The second full bathroom is located on the main level of the home, off the living area. Up above the living area is a lofted den that has a sleeping room off

to the side. This bedroom is a bit reminiscent of an attic, but it is neat and tidy with two big windows and includes a full size bed.

Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities and nice serving ware. There is an electric range and oven, microwave, toaster and all the cookware and serving ware that you will need. There is a dining area which will seat up to six.

Living Room: The comfortable living room has plenty of seating for gathering to talk over the day's adventures. Guests also enjoy gathering on the glassed-in sun porch to take in the views of the valley and mountains. Bird feeders just off the porch

invite a wide range of bird life. The lofted family room up above, accessed by a ladder, has a sofa and chair and a small television with a VCR player. It's a great place to read a book or take an afternoon nap!

Outdoor amenities: The home has a large deck overlooking the valley where you can relax and take in the views, or cook up dinner on the gas barbecue grill.

Services available: The rental rate includes an end-of-stay cleaning. Guests staying two weeks or longer will enjoy a weekly "spiff up" cleaning during their stay. Additional housekeeping can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.

Activities nearby: Fishermen will have plenty of choices of where to go: Blaine Creek, the Madison River, Yellowstone National Park and Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Other great activities include hiking, mountain biking, exploring Yellowstone National

Park, shopping and dining in the little town of Ennis, and visiting nearby ghost towns. There is so much to do!Read more

  We could not have asked for a better view and Montana experience We ate dinner on the deck with a view of the mouuntains and Madison valley. The house was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It was only a short walk to the Madison for good fishing and the quaint town of Ennis was only a few miles away. We loved it all.

  Somewhat messy home with GREAT views

  We loved our stay at Blaine Creek. The house is comfortable. The location and views are fantastic. We will definitely want to stay at Blaine again next year. There were a few small issues. There were leaks in several sinks, the dryer didn't work, the railing broke off in our hand, the kitchen was disorganized. Other than the leaks, none of this really bothered us EXCEPT that we were concerned that we would be considered responsible. As such, it caused a bit of worry and we left a long list of things that need to be fixed. We weren't complaining - just trying to be responsible and also clear that the problems were there when we showed up.

  Relax and Enjoy

  The service and attention we've received has been excellent. One year
  everything went smooth as silk. This past year some unforeseen problems
  arose (key didn't work and water pump problem) and were attended to very
  well. In each case we called and were taken care of immediately and in a very
  friendly manner. Couldn't ask for better service.
  
  We loved the home and it's location just off the Madison river. The views were
  terrific and the house was simple, but very comfortable. We wanted and
  needed nothing more as we try to get away from the pressures and
  information overload of work.
  
  The place was just so comfortable and convenient to fishing and hiking that it
  was just what we wanted. It would be nice to be 30 minutes from Yellowstone
  rather than over an hour to get where we wanted, but that was only a minor
  part.

  Nice but...no fishing and mice!!

  We loved the views and the setting. You couldn't imagine a prettier horizon and the sound of the creek below was perfect. The access to the creek was impossible. I was determined to make it down there (heck I paid extra for this house to specifically be able to fish in my backyard) but I couldn't scale the hill and fight the brush. This really disappointed us!!!
  
  Every night we would go to sleep in the master bedroom and as soon as it was quiet and dark you could hear their little claws on the hardwood upstairs...YES, mice! We only saw one the entire time but we heard them every night.
  
  The furniture in the cabin, the sunroom, the grill on the deck were all nice and worked perfect. We were just frustrated with the two items above. We would rent the home again IF we were promised the mice had been cleared and a path had been cut down to the creek.

(This is the countryside and wildlife of many kinds - including the occassional mounse - are to be expected, but we certainly don't want mice to feel welcome!) And yes, the path from the yard down to the creek is steep. We will alert future guests to that fact.   We loved this house. It feels like it was meant to be there, on this ground in this place. It is a uniquely peaceful home in which it is hard to separate the inside from out. The view fromthe deck is exquisite and the quiet palpable. Every detail fits, we found the home to be very warm and comfortable.
