Casa Britto is strategically placed just 20 minutes from Juan SantamarĂa airport with three main routes of access. EscazĂş city center with its small town local flavor is just 5 minutes away, the bustling Multiplaza mall is 10 minutes’ drive and many smaller malls are closer by. There are numerous excellent restaurants, great shopping, several good gyms and two golf courses within a 3 km radius. San JosĂ© center is about 15 minutes away. Day trips from Casa Britto include: the IrazĂş and Poas volcanoes and several botanical gardens within an hour’s drive, the Pacific Coast, Puntarenas, Hotel Punta Leona, Mariott Hotel Los Sueños and Guayabo National Park in Cartago within an hour and a half, LimĂłn, Manuel Antonio, El Arenal volcano and Liberia within three hours.

My family of 7 (self, wife, mother, kids age 10 - 17) spent the first half of our visit to Costa Rica in Guanacaste relaxing by the Pacific, and the second In San Jose due to it's central location.
This was our first time in Costa Rica, and we would not have found our way around without the Garmin from avis. My iDevice map apps were very poor in Costa Rica. This house is on a hillside overlooking the city, and as such has a street that passes in front of the house and one that passes in the back of the house. Once we found the house we put the front street location into the favorites on the Garmin and had no problem finding it after that.
We were checked in and out by Evelyn, who was very gracious and helpful during the process. Make sure you have the house landline phone number with you, we found mobile phones to be intermittent in the house.
The house was quite large and beautifully decorated. The beds were firm but comfortable. The views were incredible and the house staff did a great job keeping the house and pool immaculate. Escazu is one of the more affluent areas of the city. The house has a gate, a security system, and is surrounded by razor wire, we felt completely safe during our stay.
We chose the breakfast option at the house each day, and had more than enough to eat. The fruit was very fresh. We also chose to have them buy drinks and snacks for our stay, which worked out quite well on the drive to and from arenal and La Paz. It was nice to have a glass of wine back at the house overlooking the city after a long day of travel and touring. There are many good restaurant choices within a 10 - 15 minute drive of the house.
We asked the maid to do our laundry on the last full day, and it was well worth the tip to return to the house and see our week's worth of laundry clean and folded for the trip back.
Probably our only regret was that we split our trip and only stayed at the house for 3 days. We would definitely return.

We're very happy with our stay in Casa Britto. The house is beautiful in person as it is in the photos. The views by day and night are breathtaking. You feel at home yet you have all the comforts of a hotel. The staff working in the house, Maria and Pablo are kind, helpful and respectful.
The house was perfect for our stay in Costa Rica, we really enjoyed it. We also had a party in the garden area and it was magical. Casa Britto is amazing to do any kind of event. If you're planning to visit Costa Rica, entertain family and friends or do a special event, this is the place to stay!! -

The house is phenomenal, just as stunning in person as on photos. The owners were extremely kind and responsive to all of our questions, and continued to provide additional touches to ensure that we felt at home, including having some sandwiches and juice waiting for us at the house after our flight into Costa Rica.
We felt like we had our own mini resort to ourselves. The pool was heated and wonderful. We'd sip hot cocoa on the upper balcony at night and look out at the lights of Escazu. The staff was so courteous and kind. The grounds, flowers, and birds surrounding us added to the allure of this property. We had so much fun and such a positive experience.
Additionally, this was our first international travel with our young son. We were pleasantly surprised to find an adorable playroom for young kids downstairs that included a table, toys, chalk board, legos, etc.
We enjoyed cooking most nights, and the kitchen was fully equipped. There were also wonderful indoor outdoor dining options. They also had candles, plates, and more made from the beautiful Costa Rican wood.
Basically, the house had everything we needed to feel close to home. We would gladly stay again. We absolutely give the highest recommendation!!!

Our two families, 12 total, arrived at Casa Britto to find a much more magical place than we had imagined. They do not do justice for the breathtaking views, especially from the rancho. The home was beautifully decorated and well appointed with plenty of seating and different areas to sit. Our children enjoyed the pool day in and day out. The open floor plan with the breeze was refreshing. We visited Irazu, La Paz, went on a jungle crocodile cruise, the pacific, banana plantations, etc... We were overwhelmed with God's magnificent creation! Casa Britto was perfect for us, helped us truly live "tranquilo" :).
We would love to return as soon as we can. Evelyn will check you in in and she speaks English very well and was extremely helpful. Maria and Pablo were very helpful and it was such a blessing to come home to a clean house every day. Thank you for assisting in making such wonderful memories.

Casa Britto is a wonderful property! It is an absolutely gorgeous house with plenty of space to host a large family or several families. In our case, we were two families of 6. The pool was a great asset and was high on our list of necessities for a rental home. The garden and the front yard were amazing (great job, Pablo)! There were plenty of places to explore and room for the kids to run and play. It was nice to feel so secure with a fence all the way around the property. The balconies and terraces were a great place to sit and relax. And the views were stunning from about anywhere in the home! Our kids loved the play room! Such a nice addition and a pleasant surprise (you should include pictures of it on your website). The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed to make our meals there. We loved being able to fit both of our families around the dining room table! It's always nice to be able to seat 12 people for a meal at one table. Also, the lighting in the house is really well done. They went above and beyond to make it a comfortable place. Beds were comfortable. The furniture was so beautiful and very cozy. Maria (the maid) was a blessing so that we didn't have to worry about making beds or cleaning the kitchen. The location of the house made it easy for us to take day trips to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, Irazu volcano, and the Pacific Ocean. Overall, it's a wonderful place to spend a week (or more!) If we get a chance to go back to Costa Rica, we would love to stay there again.
Again, we really enjoyed our stay at Casa Britto! It is a fantastic property and we would highly recommend it. -

The house looked the same as it did in the photos, which was wonderful. It is spacious and clean and offered a great view of the city.It allowed for great privacy due to the location. There was daily maid service which kept the house imaculate.The location was ideal for easy access to shopping and restuarants. Although I did not meet the owners, they were very nice and made the experience seamless.I would definately stay at the location if I return to Costa Rica.
