      We will come back!

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed at the Maison-A in February. It war great to be located in the hearth of the Medina in such a beautiful and luxurious house. We went to the fish market everyday and cooked at home thanks to the fully equipped kitchen (and when I say fully equiped I mean the Italian way for serious cooking). Asma was adorable, she cooked for us one evening and dinner was delicious. I really recommend to go for this house if you are a party of 6 or more ..

Highlight of the week. In front of the fireplace after dinner tasting a Jasmine tea after a full day spent at horse riding of surfing (with the whole family) .

      we will come back !

      Beyond Expectations !

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Amazing stay for our New Year holiday with friends and a great place to explore Essaouira. We were so lucky to discover the Maison a and, for once, experience the Moroccan tradition of the Riad with all the comforts and elegance that make for a relaxing holiday.

Recently renovated by the new owners, it is clean and cosy, chic and relaxing, with great attention to details. I've stayed in other Riads and found them dark, scruffy, and often lacking the western standards of cleanliness & comfort. Not the Maison a!

The stylish rooms all have en-suite bathrooms, and give you all the desired comfort and privacy. The beds are so comfortable that will make you rest whether you a longing for it or not, and every room has a boiler, so you don't run out of hot water while having a shower!! I also loved the roof terrace, split on two levels, with a view of the ocean and the rooftops of the Medina. There are sofas and lounge beds to sun tan, and the danger is that you won't feel like leaving the terrace at all!

The chic dining room made a perfect setting for our New Year's Eve dinner, as well as daily breakfast. If you choose to have breakfast included, like we did, it will feel like heaven to walk down the stairs in the morning and sit at a table with fresh orange juice, coffee, milk, bread, croissants, cheese, and home made crepes! The living room is very cosy, with sofas around the fireplace and a beautiful lounge to lie down. Tvs, stereo and wi-fi are included.

Asma, the care taker, is gracious, helpful and a great cook. She picked us up on time, smoothly organised all the transfers, gave us the best tips for local amenities. Just ask her!

The location is good, on a quiet road, off one of the nicest streets of the Medina..It is easy to find and everything (beach/restaurants) is a short walk away.

Essaouira is beautiful, but can be tiring to the senses. La Maison a offered the needed sanctuary. Vividly suggested, whatever your interests are!

A Star gate in the Medina

Left on 12/09/2012 for a stay in November 2012

I have been staying in Maison a , the last week of November , I was travelling with my husband and we were looking for same authenitic experiences , without compromise confort and Style . We were amazed by the Riad' s High standard , We felt like at home , Asma , the gilrl who take care of the guest , is just perfect . She makes succulent breakfast with fresh , warm bread ... For coffe's addicted like me , she can source same selected marocco 's blend . We have also asked her to make two dinners for us , and the food was excellent . Made with love . The house is full of charme , I would say the quintessense of class , as the Riad combines the old historical elements with the most contemporany architectural solutions. Admiring the sunset from the Riad's Terrace , drinking mint tea , was one of the best part of the day . Staying at Maison a is a great chance for travellers that want to try the Medina's buzz , as you can reach the souk , the fishmarkets , restaurants in few minutes . But as soon as you will hold your Riad's key , you are aware that when the buzz is too much, you only have to open the Grey Riad's door , and your out of time nest is waiting for you !,

A stylish and beautiful haven from the bustle of the Medina

Left on 05/21/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We stayed at the Riad in april 2012 and received an excellent service from annalisa from start to finish. It is clear that annalisa and her brother alessandro have put a lot of thought and a lot of work into decorating and finishing the Riad and the result is breathtaking. Each of the rooms are beautifully finished and furnished and whilst the Riad is very stylishly appointed, it has not lost its homely charm. The Riad is run on a day to day basis by asma who cannot do enough to help. Her genorisity and kindness only added to an already fantastic Riad. Her cooking is also excellent!

The Riad is also well-located, being located down an alleyway off one of the main streets and a few minutes walk from the main square. We also fell in love with Essaouira itself and cannot wait to go back (we will be staying at the Riad). Essaouira has all the charm and culture that you would expect from a stay in Morocco, but without the pollution and hassle of Marrakech. The town itself is big enough to find plenty to do, but also does not have the city feel or pace of some of the larger Moroccan towns. Shopping (and haggling) in Essaouira is also a much more pleasant experience!

Overall, we had a brilliant time and I would not hesitate to recommend this Riad to family and friends. We are already hoping to return shortly.

      True Moroccan style and comfort!

Left on 12/29/2011 for a stay in November 2011

I was one of five friends that stayed in beautiful maison a in the fall of 2011- thank you to asma and annalisa for a wonderful experience. Essaoiura was our first destination in Morocco and it was a real pleasure to stay in such a beautiful and comfortable riad. Asma was a delight, and indispensable in providing meals, directions and making us feel at home.
We cannot say enough good things! Thanks and hope to return some day soon!

      Unforgettable Place!

Left on 09/30/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We stayed here as a family of four and I can't say enough good things about this place. It made our stay at Essaouira truly special. The house is big, comfortable, and cozy while at the same time one of the most stylish and aesthetically sophisticated places that we've ever stayed at (and we've traveled and stayed at many places around the world - from hostels to 5-star hotels). It was a great advantage to be able to walk to the beach in 10 minutes while having immediate access to the center of town. Last but not least, Asma, the person who met us at the house was extremely helpful and professional. It was our first time in Morocco and her assistance and presence gave us a great sense of ease and comfort. We look forward to returning to this wonderful house very soon!

      the perfect getway

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in August 2011

I just spent a week in essaouira at Maison a with a group of friends, the owners alessandro and annalisa offered me the chance to be the first guest, since the complete renovation of the house. Well, they did a fantastic job, rooms are as beautiful as one can imagine, the atmosphere of the whole house is unforgettable, we felt totally pampered by asma, the person responsable of the house, who would cook for us lunch and dinner. I'm sure next guests will enjoy the same way we did.
