Left on 08/16/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This property was excellent. My two sisters and their families stayed in two other properties. Everyone liked ours the best! Good floor plan, well stocked with cooking equipment, books, toys, etc. but not cluttered or crowded with owners stuff. Lots of windows for view and breeze. Vacuum sweeper was appreciated, but would have like something to mop the kitchen floor. Only complaint: refrigerator door needs repair to be able to take full advantage of the space. Service was fine, and house location near Rocky Mountain National Park was convenient.

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Right from the point of discovering the property on trip advisor to staying at alleman South, the experience was easy breezy. I wrote to leasing office enquiring about availability, received prompt reply. I called and booked for 3 days for 6 of us. As we were arriving late in the night the keys were left at the office along with map.
The property was absolutely gorgeous, clean and surprisingly well stocked. We were surprised with the range of grocery items in the kitchen. Spices, utensils, cutlery, pots pans everything was in more than ample supply (just like we would keep at home). It felt like walking into someone's house who has left it well stocked for a few days stay. The bedrooms were neatly arranged, towels, toiletries everything in good supply. We couldn't stop gushing over how comfortable our stay was.
Alleman South has some amazing views of the mountain, the deck is just perfect for a sunny morning chats or night sky watching. We spent a lot of time in the cosy living room area, savoring the views just watching the sun rise & set.
Glad to have have found such a perfect place for our stay. -

This was our second time at alleman South and our third time at Windcliff. Once again, everything was perfect. There was a problem with the phones when we arrived and as soon as we told the office manager it was taken care of.
The house is spotless, the view is gorgeous and an easy ride to access the park for lots of hiking. -

I am impressed with the easiness of renting alleman South online and getting the keys and directions to the house once we arrived. The home was perfect for us. It is a wonderful house, tastefully decorated with Native american works of art which is a favorite of mine. The house was spotless when we arrived and every thing that needed to work did. My favorite was the deck with an amazing view of the mountains. What a way to start the day with morning coffee on that deck. The only problem we had was the stairs. We are three aging ladies so we had to take care going down to our bedrooms and back up again.

Lincoln NEAnother Beautiful autumn in Colorado
Left on 10/18/2011 for a stay in October 2011
My wife and I have enjoyed coming to Estes and Rocky at various times of the year and particularly in the Fall for several years. Windcliff properties has been our choice of lodging destinations on our last three trips. The alleman South property was clean and comfortable and offered the amenities indicated on both the Windcliff & Trip advisor websites. It the properties are homes and even as a guest the comforts of being "at home" can be enjoyed. This particular property is on the South side and is about a 10 minute drive from the office. Its location and proximity to the National Forest and aspen Brook Trail provide a welcome disconnect from the touristy activities of downtown Estes, though they are to be partaken as well. Arriving after sunset I was pleased to find lights had been left on to help in entry. One of the amenities that isn't promoted for those of coming from more urban locales is the beauty and splendor of the clear night time & early morning skies and constellations. I have had no concerns about recommending Windcliff to friends, family, and coworkers. This year I was on my own as my wife had work considerations and hit the perfect conditions for enjoying the autumn colors and the elk rut. I'm beginning my planning for 2012 travel and certainly intend for a stop at Windcliff and possibly alleman South if available to be included.

Alleman South was a perfect Colorado getaway. Nestled in the far side of the Windcliff neighborhood, it was fairly secluded and open to amazing views of mountains and wildlife. The only drawback was that the grill was at the front (driveway side) of the property so you couldn't take advantage of the views while grilling. All in all, it was absolutely idyllic and we would definitely stay here again.

We had a family reunion and used both the alleman South and the Murphy duplexes. We had lots of room for the 16 people who came. Discovering that the Rocky Mountain National Park is literally out the back door was also a great bonus. Being set back around the side we weren't sure if we would have the view that we have had from other homes in Windcliff. But discovered we had a great view. Since it's at the end of the complex it was also very quiet. Wonderful experience over all.

I found Windcliff on the internet and can't believe how lucky we were. It was just exactly what we were looking for. When in Estes Park I saw some of the other places we were considering and was so glad we chose Windcliff instead. It was quiet, comfortable, and the views were gorgeous. The office staff was so nice, helpful, and friendly. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.

The screaming infants next door sounded as if they were in the bedroom with us all night long. Parking was also an issue with the four cars they decided to bring. Our duplex was well appointed and comfortable, but I would only stay at this location again if we were renting both duplexes. We have stayed at Windcliff a total of five times at five different locations. This was the first time we did not have a perfect stay through no fault of Windcliff. We will definitely be back.

Thanks for your review. We regret that you were bothered by noise which can be a factor with side-by-side condominium homes. We also have detached homes, including homes on an acre of land, that you might find more suitable for a future stay.

Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We stayed at the alleman home and it was fantastic! We have three young children, 7, 5, and 2, and they were very comfortable in this home. There was a nice selection of children's movies and games for them to keep busy in the evening downtime before bed. The alleman home had all the ammenities of our home and more. The view was spectacular, not to mention having morning coffee while huge 5X elk and deer fed in the front and back yards! Simply amazing. The home sits by a trail head into the Rocky Mountain National Forest that was easily accessible from our driveway, so no reason to load up the van. The road up the mountain to the alleman home took a bit getting used to, but the views were spectacular. We would highly recommend this home because of it's comfort, ammenities, views, and wildlife.

We have now stayed three times at Windcliff in Estes Park, Co to snowshoe. This condo was by far the best. Check in was orderly and clear. The home was warm with radiant heat and a working fireplace. Everything worked perfectly, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The amenities added value to the home. Amenities included spa tub, honor wine bar, tvs in every bedroom as well as living room, surround sound system and wifi. We will definitely come back to this condo.

We found the alleman South very comfortable for us. We stayed for 9 nights, our daughter's family joined us for 4 nights. the kids loved it. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was easy for us to work in. The living room was very comfortable. We do a lot of hiking when we come to the Rmnp area and The alleman was a relaxing retreat when we got done for the day. This was our 2nd stay at Windcliff this year and both have been great. We are spoiled!

Left on 11/03/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We discovered this property on the internet and rented it from 9/26/09 to 10/3/09. It far exceeded our expectations! The Alleman South on Ram's Horn Mountain is GREAT!! It is spacious, extremely clean and has fantastic mountain views from both the front and rear. The location could not have been better! Just a couple miles to the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park entrance. Only 4 miles to Estes Park. There is a National Park hiking path just next to the Alleman South!
We had mule deer in our front and rear yard almost every day and saw a large bull and female elk just steps away from our driveway. Lots of elk in the Park! We also saw a large brown bear in Estes Park!
It snowed in the mountains just before we arrived and again on 9/30/09. The mountains looked absolutely beautiful!
The road to Alleman South up the mountain is a 3 mile winding road but very well maintained and you get use to it once you travel it.
The agents in Windcliff's office , Michelle, Andrew and Nancy, were wonderful! I thought that "internet access" in the rental meant that there was a computer to use. However, it just means that there is a internet connection for your computer. Since I failed to bring a laptop with me, the agents let me use one of their computers in their office to access my email. I really appreciated that!
Your cell phone will not work in the Alleman South but there is a line phone there to use. Your cell phone will work in Estes Park.
My wife and I previously vacationed in a townhouse in Estes Park in September, 2007. That place was filthy and disappointing! Alleman South beat that place by 1000 percent for cleanliness, furnishings and views!!! There was even a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates on the table welcoming us to Alleman South!
We highly recommend Alleman South and would definitely rent it again if we should decide to vacation in Estes Park again. You will not be disappointed if you should decide to rent it!!!

My wife and I first visited Estes Park on our 5th wedding anniversary some 45 years ago. This week we celebrated our 50th! This was our first visit to Windcliff and I don't think we could have picked a better location nor a better house than Alleman South. This house is everything covered in it's Webpage.....and more.....and better! Upon arriving on the Windcliff properties, we were greeted with a "welcome/information" package by the friendly people at the front office who cautioned us about the "twin bears" alert but never matrialized. The house itself lacked nothing one might expect to find except.....scissors! Immaculate throughout. It was a beautiful home and the owners had left an information package with recommendations on their favorite restaurants and things to do which was helpful. Scenic views from most windows of the mountains. On several occasions during the week, deer would stroll across the yard and vertually "pose" for photos. We loved the quietness of the area. What did we like the least......having to leave this beautiful place but. . . .we shall return.

It is close to Estes and RMNP but removed from the hustle bustle of the main town areas.

This was a family vacation with our 16 & 22 year-old daughters. We stayed 8 nights in Alleman South. The house was in excellent condition, very clean, and a perfect size for the four of us. I would guess it was built in the late 70's or 80's. All bedrooms are on ground floor, with other rooms above. All rooms in the house were large enough for us. Master bedroom and bath are very big. Plenty of bath towels. Kitchen fully furnished. Lots of books and games. Satellite TV and wireless internet worked fine all week. Cell phones do not work there. Spent a lot of time on the deck - fabulous view of the mountains from there and inside; some trees partially block the view, but not bad. I really enjoyed waking up each morning and having a great view of the mountains right from the bed in the master bedroom.
One drawback for this house is it's a duplex and the other unit's master bedroom is directly above this house's master bedroom. We often heard walking above, crying toddlers, and water running. We didn't hear anything from the other rooms.
The neighborhood is very nice. It's great to take walks on the rarely traveled roadway to see other houses and views. Many of the other houses are much larger, but Alleman South was plenty large for our family. There's a hiking trail right into RMNP very close to this house. The drive from the office up to this house has 10 switchbacks. Not scary unless you really fear heights. The drive up/down takes 7-10 minutes of slow driving so don't plan to go up and down frequently during the day - it will be tedious. We found it fine and not a problem since we left and returned at most twice a day, sometimes only once. I suggest doing your grocery shopping before you check in so you can stay in the house that first evening. Windcliffe staff very nice at check-in and check-out; no other interaction needed.
Alleman South was very clean, well-furnished, very comfortable, and had great views. It was a peaceful stay. I highly recommend it. -

The check staff were very friendly (I am biased as one is a relative, but his co-workers are great too)and knowledgeable. The Alleman House had everything a family of four, with two teenagers would need for relaxing after busy days of hiking. We saw neighbors, but did not feel crowded. The beds were great, the "bubble tub" was heaven for this mom who spent most of the day trying to keep up with the energetic hikers in the group. We had cookies fresh from the oven almost every night after making basic home made dinners in a kitchen that was easy to work in. On site laundry was great too. The TV's, etc were appreciated by the other members, but I am of the crowd that comes to the mountains to get away from all that. I would recommend the home to friends and check its availability when we return. Thank you for a "home" to relax in.

What a wonderful property!
With so many places in Estes park that are near the road, or with obstructed or partial views, we were specifically looking for a quiet, out of the way location, with wonderful views. I really wanted a place that I could get up early, look out on a deck, see the mountains and hear nothing but nature. This property was perfect. The ladies were a little distraught at the road in, however, with the quality of the unit and the breathtaking views, they didn't mind.
For travelers arriving late in the day, I would strongly recommend that you purchase your groceries for your evening meal rather than planning on going out and getting a "quick bite". Once up the mountain, you won't want to make the trip back down (first, it is beautiful and second, you are really up the mountain and it is initially an intimidating drive for a flatlander. Third, you really won't want to leave the place). We just happened to buy breakfast and lunch food, thinking that we would go for a quick bite, yet discovered that a PBJ with wine was a perfect evening meal.
We will certainly recommend this property to others and if/when we come back, this is the only property we will stay at. -

We very much enjoyed our stay, the management especially(!), the view, the quiet, really everything! The only issue we had, and this is the only reason I didn't mark "highly recommended", was with connectivity to the internet. There was an issue with getting and maintaining a connection.
We loved the deck and view, the beautiful living space and fireplace, the kitchen and dining area too. I really can only say good things other than the internet issue. The nice stock of wine (honor system for replenishing) was a nice touch and we enjoyed having it available when we arrived. The mattress in the master bedroom was a little firm for us.
We stayed during a time when rates are a little lower and we hope we can afford to stay during the summer when rates are higher.Response from Windcliff Properties, Inc. - 01/15/2009

We stayed for a full week the week of Thanksgiving and had a delightful time. The home is very well appointed; we didn't lack for anything. We have an adolescent and a toddler so the floor plan was perfect - room for everyone with plenty of privacy as well as lots of space to be together. We were also surprised at how toddler-proof the house is - a great benefit for us. The views are lovely from every window in the home and the fireplace in the great room was a huge hit with all of us.
The office staff was the best of any place we've stayed previously (and we've stayed a lot of places in a lot of towns). They were patient with our requests, quick in their responses, and wonderfully courteous.
We eagerly suggest Wind Cliff and Alleman South to anyone looking for a quiet place that feels like home. You won't regret the chocie!
