springdaleA lovely home away from home
Left on 08/14/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My husband and I loved the location, the furnishings the size, and the lovely property's solitude right in the middle of Eureka Springs. So convenient and so well-appointed. We certaily appreciated the contemporary design approach in furnishings as opposed to the rufflely Victorian design found everywhere else. The bath is especially lovely. The only thing missing was the advertised breakfast pastries, fruit, sodas, etc. and also the fireplace didn't work. There is a steep flight of stairs to access the apartment which were not a problem for us, but might be for older or physically challenged visitors. However,we most certainly would return for a stay, and hope to soon.

Conway, ARPerfect escape with all the comforts of home!
Left on 08/04/2012 for a stay in April 2012
This place is our absolute favorite.. Beautifully decorated, all the conveniences of being at home , so close to town yet very private and secluded, amazing back deck overlooking a valley through the trees, comfy bed, huge bathroom, cute little kitchen with everything you need and the living area is spacious complete with a fireplace. Joe, the property manager is always so prompt and accommodating and Shirley has done an amazing job with the decor and comfort of this place . We don't stay anywhere else now that we have found this wonderful place! Luxurious, modern and comfortable all rolled into one!

We stayed here for a few days while on our honeymoon. We arrived very late in the evening during a thunderstorm. We couldnt have chosen a better place. We felt very much at home. There were snacks there for us and a very inviting jacuzzi tub. We were located within walking distance of the bus/trolley system. At the same time, we were tucked far enough away from the main road that we felt we were away from everything. Everything was very clean. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back.

Columbia, MOCozy Christmas as Pampered Guests!
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We had never been away from home for Christmas until 2011; we decided to give a short vacation a try. We had been to Eureka Springs, AK a couple of times and decided that this would be a good place. I cannot get across what a wonderful time we had, and the "Luxury Lodging" was exactly that. The layout, the amenities, and especially the wonderful decorating made us feel very much at home and relaxed. Having a full kitchen available with everything we needed to cook a Christmas dinner was a big bonus. The bath was fabulous; we're not hot tub people, but we indulged and it was nice. The bed was great. The lodge was very private; even the balcony. The location was perfect; we could walk downtown, although we chose to drive because we also wanted to drive through the town to see all of the lovely homes and buildings. Shopping was a delight with many artists' shops; we always enjoy browsing these with occasional purchases. The rental transaction was totally painless and, although we wouldn't have minded meeting the proprietors if only to tell them in person how much we enjoyed their place, we were left very much alone. We like to try different places when we stay away from home, but we may make an exception for future get-aways; we have very fond memories of our stay of Christmas 2011.

Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We had looked at renting another property for the weekend, and when it was unavailable we were told about the abernathy. We couldn't have been happier! This was luxury at it's best, the desinger touches, the quality of bedding, amenities. It was l00 degrees outside, yet very comfortable in the guesthouse. The most impressive was the wonderful location! Right next to the shopping and dining areas, yet tucked away so cozy and private, you wouldn't even know it existed. No neighbors, no noise. Very romantic. We can't wait to return on valentine's day for our anniversary. Highly recommend the abernathy for any romantic getaway! Mike and Debbie, Owasso, OK

Hampton, Arkansas, USAThe best place to stay in town
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
A great place for couples it was very clean, private and quiet. It's close to the down town area (someone use to walking a lot could walk it...but not in the heat of June), and there is a trolly stop within walking distance. It is upstairs, so if you have a problem walking stairs I would suggest you find something else. I would not think of staying anywhere else when I go back, I did not see any places as nice in my search to find somewhere to stay or when touring the town.

The abernathy was perfect! Great location, extremely clean, cozy, updated amenities, and easy to find. We had a wonderful weekend here and I would highly recommend the abernathy!
Do note there are stairs at the entrance for anyone with handicap issues but the stairs are easy to use if you don't have a handicap. They separate your area from the ground floor and also give you a great view.Response from Shirley M. Cantrell - 02/24/2011

My mom and I stayed at the abernathy and couldn't have been happier. I have visited Eureka for some 20 years and have stayed several different places, but the abernathy turned out to be a special treat. The fireplace was especially wonderful on those crisp autumn nights It was very quiet. Just like a home away from home. Can't wait to visit with my husband.

I found this place under the listings for Eureka Springs. It caught my eye because that was our last name and I wanted to surpise my husband, so I never told him the name.or showed him the pictures . We were so pleased, It was so private and quiet. The furnishings were so nice, very clean and so roomy. The kitchen was well supplied. Being so private, we never had to worry about leaving our vehicle there and could walk to catch the trolley. Since we have seen much of Eureka Springs, we would probably not go back there, but would highly recommend "The abernathy" as a great place to stay if going there. You would not be sorry.

The abernathy is secluded. It is located walking distance to the trolley. Our car was parked the entire weekend. The luxury accomodations were spacious and spotless. We felt at home. All of our tour plans and tickets were just as we asked. They were with our key when we arrived. Our 25th anniversary is a wonderful memory.

TulsaWe love the abernathy.
Left on 02/14/2011 for a stay in October 2010
We've stayed at the abernathy twice now, and look forward to staying again the next time we're in Eureka Springs. The location is perfect - it's tucked away with just a very short walk to a trolley stop, and the amenities are wonderful. We love having the full kitchen, which we used to save money by heating up leftovers from our meals out, and eating breakfast in. It's so quiet, peaceful, and secluded that it is the perfect place to run away to. We spend hours just reading in the living room.
The only hiccups we've had is that the last time we were there we could not get the wireless internet to work no matter what we did, and it was important that we have it for my husband's work. The gas fireplace also was not working, which was a disappointment, however we love every other detail of the abernathy so much that we can easily overlook those things.
Highly recommended to a single person who just wants to get away for some solitude, or for a couple who wants a romantic weekend away. -

Nice private accomodations. Nicely furnished and very well kept. The small kitchen was perfect and the laundry room a plus. The huge tub was perfect for bubble baths. The location was close enough to the main part of town, but still secluded for privacy.
