Springtime Spectacular!
Overland Park, KSGorgeous, spacious, surprisingly affordable gem in Eureka Spring
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013
I cannot say enough nice things about 10 White Street and its owner, Peggy. From the moment we reserved the house, she took care of absolutely everything. She provided an area map a week before our trip and pointed out some wonderful restaurants and galleries. The house itself is absolutely darling-beautiful decor, plenty of room, and whimsical touches throughout. Check in and check out were a breeze! We arrived late in the evening-Peggy had already stocked the kitchen with some early morning essentials-coffee, breakfast bars, fresh fruit. We were spoiled! We loved the place so much, we've already booked it for next year's trip!

In the four decades we have been visiting Eureka Springs ~ first, as a couple and now, with our teenage son, we have long looked for the place we could call home. We have finally found such a place in Ten White Street. From the very beginning, Peggy embodies the utmost in hospitality, with her effervescent personality and sincere care for her guests' comfort. The love she has put into Ten White Street is evident. It is tastefully decorated with a reverence to historic charm and a nod to the arts which are woven into the fabric of Eureka Springs. Peggy has thought of all the little details that make one feel pampered, such as makeup mirrors, heated floor in the bathroom, luxury linens, local artwork throughout, washer/dryer, and a fully equipped kitchen. The floor plan allows privacy for our teenage son, as well as "couple time" for us. We travel to Eureka Springs 2-3 times each year, and have already booked two more trips at Ten White Street! We felt very much at home at Ten White Street and sincerely hope that all guests will take care of this special gem for years to come.

Ten White street is a great surviving example of Eureka Springs' Victorian architecture, and unique history, It's also a wonderful place to stay!
When we arrived, Peggy (the owner operator), personally greeted us with keys to the home. She gave us a tour of the home and told us some interesting bits about the home and the town. The house was outfitted with all the ammenites you'd expect at a hotel, wi-fi, towels roabes, deluxe, toiletries etc but the opportunity to have privacy and a use a a full kitchen. These perks were why we chose to stay there in leiu of a hotel or a bed and breakfast for our valentines weekend trip. We are so glad that we did. The living spaces are large and there even a full sized dining room table for formal meals.
We couldn't be more pleases theres also plenty to do in wlakin distance of the house.
The downtown historic district was about a five minute walk from the house, uphill on the way back, but we didn't mind at all. The house is also less than a block from the trolley stop if you're not the walking type.
We couldn't have been more pleased, I can't wait to stay here again in the summertime. -

We came to Eureka Springs for a girl's get away and stayed at 10 White Street. What an amazing experience. The house is adorable and everything in it had been planned for comfort. From the linens to the grounds that are perfect to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. It was easy to see the owners had thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. When we come back to Eureka Springs for another get away 10 White Street will be our choice.

10 White Street was the perfect place from which to explore Eureka Springs. It was a short walk to great restaurants, shops, and the bizarre Overlook-esque Crescent Hotel.
The house itself is beautiful modelled and decorated. Everything we needed for a stay was provided for us-from robes and locally made soaps to on-demand Netflix.
Definitely choose 10 White Street if you want a relaxing place to stay in Eureka Springs. -

This home is beautifully kept in a great location in Eureka Springs. The owner was very gracious showing us around the property, and going so far as to stock the kitchen with coffee, breakfast items and snacks for our 2-day stay. The house was immaculate. Very comfortable beds. It is located just a short walk from the shops and restaurants in E.S., but due to the July heat and steep hills we ended up driving whenever we went into town. My only quibble with the house, and it is a small one, is that in the early morning the sound of water moving through the pipes (which I assumed was for the outdoor water fountain) was loud and hard to sleep through (if you are a light sleeper like me).

Sometimes where you stay on a trip really does make a difference! My childhood friends and i meet once a year for a weekend away and this year we chose Eureka Springs. The last few years we have enjoyed staying in more, eating, drinking, and catching up, so having this "home away from home" where everything was so clean and comfortable meant a lot to us; not to mention so artfully decorated with local art, as the owner Peggy is the art Director of Eureka's School of arts, and has a real eye for decorating and design!
The location is great; the trolley stop is only a few steps away, and Ermilio's Italian restaurant is 1 block down.
If there is one thing i would change, it would have to be closing in the toilet area upstairs. it is now completely open to that bedroom, making it a bit awkward if you get my drift!
That being said, i will book this place again in a heartbeat! -

This is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway. It is very clean, very comfortable and beautifully furnished. It has a fully equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and oh so comfy king sized bed. There is a wonderful private courtyard out back and a nice double porch in front. Both are great places to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a cold drink. The courtyard has a great water feature that is so relaxing to listen to and beautiful plants. Peggy has done a great job making this a wonderful place to getaway to with your sweetheart or anyone else. She meets you on arrival with a big smile and leaves you feeling right at home. Ten White Street is close to downtown and the restaurants and just about anything you might want to do. We loved that we felt comfortable and right at home the first time we walked in. It was quiet and private and just a beautiful home to stay in. The kitchen is easy to cook in and everything you might need you will find and there is also a washer and dryer. (in a room off the kitchen) Ten White Street does not disappoint on any level. You can't go wrong if you stay here, so if you're looking for a quiet, private, beautifully furnished home to stay in on your next trip to Eureka Springs, give Peggy a call you will be very glad you did.

Lovely place and lovely folks running it. The house is fabulous and the location is perfect. Modern enough to make you feel like you are not missing anything but still quaint enough to give you a feel for times gone by. The garden space out back was just perfect for early morning coffee or late night gab fests. The second story bedroom with the huge shower and bath is enough to make you fight over who gets to sleep there. The resturant Ermilios just down the street is truly wonderful and just enough of a walk to justify all the food you eat!!
Peggy and her husband went out of their way to accomodate us. He met us and gave us the grand tour and she took the time to stop by and check on us to see if there was anything else we needed. Definitely a place we will go back to. -

I don't want to tell anyone how great this home is because I want to keep it to myself. The location is perfect one block from a great restaurant and one block from a great show. Too many extras to list! Beds and pillow were wonderful, top notch. Gardens were zen, private and offered several different sitting areas. The art and decor in the home were beautiful and tasteful. The bathrooms are outstanding and I will not spoil the surprise by telling you about them but the house in worth staying in just for them. You will not be sorry if you stay here. Peggy is great and next time we stay she is going to be invited to hang out with us. Her husband brought us local papers and went the extra mile to show us all the great features of the home. So glad we stayed and we will make this a trip to make again and again.

The service was great.
There was everything that you could need in the kitchen if you wanted to cook.
All of the decks were great with a good view! This was my favorite thing about the house.
The music was great for relaxing.
The interior decorator did a great job of decorating the house.
The flowers and landscaping were just gorgeous. This was my second favorite thing about the house. You could sit on the deck and watch all of the insects flying around to each of the different flowers.
It was nice to be close enough so that you walk around town and get exercise, too.
There were many good shops in town.

Peggy has created a welcoming environment that is not only beautiful but comfortable. The private gardens and wrap around porch provided wonderful places to sit and relax. The interior of the home had heated floors in the main floor bathroom and a very large, tiled shower adjacent to a bedroom in the upstairs bathroom.Local art work , whimsical pieces of furniture and decor was through out the home. This home feels quintessentially Eureka and we will return!

This house seriously made my trip! It's beautiful inside and out and every single detail too! Not only was it beautiful but so comfortable! Bath robes, tons of towels, a mini bar, etc. etc! I actually think this house can sleep up to 7 people actually. One of the bedrooms has a day bed that can comfortably sleep an extra person. Lots of sitting areas too. And a nice Italian restaurant (Ermilio's) down the street. I miss this house already and would recommend this house to anybody!

My sister and I wanted to spend some time with a cousin we had not seen in years. We decided to stay here and it was an awesome experience! Once we got over the excitement of looking at the beautiful decor, we enjoyed the ambiance of the house and spent as much time sitting around talking as we did exploring Eureka Springs. The trolley stop was a very short distance away which was a big plus for us. We liked it so much we want to come back again.

10 White Street is truly lovely- gorgeous house, furnishings and grounds. The front porch is perfect for morning coffee and watching the world go by. The back patio perfect for intimate evening drinks. The house itself is just beautiful, luxurious and cozy (a tough to find combination for sure). Peggy, the owner, thought of everything and was incredibly accommodating, not to mention genuinely nice. We would come back just to have coffee with her.
The location is very convenient to Spring Street, only 2 blocks walk. The parking on Spring Street is horrendous, so a 2 block walk is perfect. There are so many things close by, you won't lack for amusement. Try Ermelio's literally down the street for Italian, it was delicious!
Overall, 10 White Street was amazing, I highly recommend it, believe it or not, for families & girls trips (it sleeps 6 easily not stuffed in every corner and has 2 large bathrooms!) or couples (seriously romantic!!). The rates are very reasonable for what you get. My husband and I will definitely be back!!!Response from Peggy Kjelgaard - 02/04/2012

We felt as if we had gone back in time...being a lover of antiques it was the perfect place for us. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard in the midst of nature to talk to God and sitting on the front porch with a hot cup of tea watching the world go by. The location was a little hard to find but Peggy stayed on the phone with us and guided us right to our "home away from home". She has thought of everything...if you forget your glasses not to worry there is a pair in every room...Great...great...great...can't wait to go back...
