MelbourneA gorgeous country retreat, well worth a visit
Left on 03/06/2012 for a stay in March 2012
A beautiful rustic setting with modern amenities. Fabulous food, service and attention to detail. Our group of 10 had a wonderful weekend!
It's great that most of the rooms have en-suites, but would be even better if all did! -

Left on 02/12/2012 for a stay in November 2011
Well what a find this was. We arrived to find a note apologising for no-one being there for our arrival; but on phoning the number - Wendy magically appeared - she was out gathering supplies for a dinner party for 8 other guests who were arriving that evening. We were shown to our gorgeous room in the Tower with lovely views out across the countryside with everything you needed including the fluffy bath robe.
Wendy is the supreme hostess, you would think that you were in a 5* hotel with her professional and friendly approach. She makes a fantastic coffee, so she must have also been a Barista in her former life!
We would love to return and rent the entire Villa for a weekend and share it with friends. The grounds including an organic vegetable patch and orchard, the history and furnishings of the Factory, the beautiful lounge with bar and honour system ... you could be anywhere in the world, maybe we were in Tuscany or Provence after all.
This is a tucked away little gem, from where we explored the area and the wineries, and we hope one day to return.

This beautiful building has been converted into gorgeous boutique accommodation. Wendy is lovely, always there when we wanted to know about the property and the local area yet not intrusive. The location is just out of town, but it was nice and quiet. The Moulton Brown amenities were a nice touch.

MelbourneA Perfect Night away
Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012
From booking to check-out, the Butter Factory was a class act. Being familiar with the property prior to restoration, I have always wanted to see what was within. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was not disappointed.
The property has been superbly restored, leaving many original features in place. The rooms are well-appointed and every need is catered to. From the Molton Brown toiletries to the delicious homemade breakfast, the quality of the operation shines through.
We stayed in the Garden Room, which had a pied-Ã -terre feel, facing onto a side garden and courtyard. There were plenty of other areas in the garden to dine al fresco or sit with a tea or wine. A nice touch was having a table provided so we could dine directly outside our room.
We had a tour of the rest of the property and the internal rooms are equally impressive. The second floor sitting area would be perfect for groups or to curl up with a book. There is space for either indoor or outdoor functions and the venue is certainly high on the list for my next celebration.
I could not fault the Butter Factory and will certainly be back in the coming months to visit the soon-to-be opened cafe and to stay another night (or more).Response from Wendy Bartel - 01/26/2012

Thanks Fiona. Look forward to seeing you in the Garden Cafe later this year.

Its a nice spot. We stayed there a few years ago and had a memorable visit. There isn't that much to do in Euroa, but its improving.
The Euroa Butter Factory itself is well appointed and intend to go there again.Response from Wendy Bartel - 01/23/2012

Everyone loved the restored building, the lux rooms, the gorgeous garden (a vista at every turn) - but it was the level of service the staff gave and the quality of the food that just completed the picture and took it from great to fantastic.
The Butter Factory was the core of what became a fantastic few days with my family and friends and delivered on so many levels. Special moments like an impromptu lunch for four under the trees, a sophisticated dinner for six, also outside in the beautiful garden, and then breakfasts were a delight. Then we all had massages by a magician - the lady has special skills! There are lovely spots in both the Factory and the garden where you can find some space, read or catch up and have a chat, make your own coffee, have a glass of wine.
We also had a birthday picnic for 20 catered for by the Butter Factory which we took up into the Strathbogies Hills behind Euroa. one evening. It was all packed and sorted and delicious.
And all of this was arranged by email from London!
Ps There is a gorgeous natural wonder many would travel to the Top End to experience - natural granite waterfalls and rock pools a few ks out of Euroa, Gooram Falls.

Thanks, it was a pleasure! And thank you for highlighting the beautiful Strathbogie Ranges and Gooram Falls.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, nothing was too much trouble for Wendy. From the beautiful 3 course dinner, the pre dinner drinks to the well stocked guest lounge, it was all about us relaxing and enjoying ourselves. The property was amazing, it s a great mix of retaining the rustic charm of the old butter factory, while the facilities and guest accomodation were luxurious and welcoming. The grounds and gardens were lovingly restored and a credit to the owners, a fantastic location for functions and weddings. We loved the fact that as a group of couples, we could all stay together in one location and be together in the huge guest lounge, yet still have some privacy in our own suites. The best part was we had a beautiful 3 course dinner without having to leave the premises. A real home away from home with a resort/ guest house feel.

Our short stay in very comfortable surroundings was highlighted by the impeccable service and courtesy extended to our relatives visiting from Shepparton and our family staying with us from Sweden.
A delightful lunch under the trees on a hot summer day was made all the more memorable with Wendy's friendly and professional service.

The building is absolutely beautiful and the room we stayed is gorgeous (courtroom). I was very envious of the courtyard garden surrounding the building...I wish my garden was looking so lush and full of vibrant smells from the lavender and garden roses. The service we recieved from Wendy was brilliant/friendly and certainly made us feel very welcomed.
