What Past Guests Are Saying
Comfortable stay and beautiful memories
Our whole family had a wonderful time and comfortable stay in this house. We all hope we could stay longer. It's a clean and lovely home, we can find everything we need. Also including books, Dvds, games and crayons for kids.
it's only few steps to the quiet and nice sandy beach. My daughters love to play with sand and collect shells there. And, it's only about 2miles from Safeway, Longs Drugs and Foodland. We always bought meals in Safeway during our stay. So convenient. And, it's about 15~20mins drive to Costco and Premier Outlets, where we had a pleasant shopping experience. :-)
Laurie, the house owner, is so friendly. Her hospitality and kind help made us feel warm and contributed to our beautiful memories in Hawaii. We appreciate the welcome fruit basket, Kona coffee, the local popular chocolate pie and the sharing of Oahu attractions. And, thank you so much Laurie for all the help you offerred during our stay! So nice meeting with you and talking with you. Hope to see you again.
Next time to Oahu, I will definitely come back to this house again!

Darla and Laurie were amazing. We had 6 kids and 4 adults. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house and the close proximity of stores and the beach. The tradewinds were lovely, no need for the aC. The kids played in the spacious front yard. The short walk to the beach was nice. The house had boogie boards, snorkel gear and some water shoes. We live in Oregon and we left our snorkel and water shoes there that way another family could use them. Lots of wonderful memories were made in this home. A huge thanks to Laurie and Darla!
A warm, cozy house
This is a wonderful house sitting in the 2nd row on the beach. You can watch the ocean from the deck, fall sleep with the tide sound at night and wake up by the bird songs in the morning.
If your group (we're party of 6) is looking for a cozy place to enjoy the beach and sun but want to be away from the crowd, this is a perfect place to stay. The house is very well decorated and equipped for some comfortable family/group beach life, the hostess Larrie is very friendly and considerate, she will greet you in a hawaii way. For us, she brought a fruit/candy basket, a bag of Kona coffee and a pumpkin pie, fresh from the oven since we arrived in the Thanksgiving day. She also come to say goodbye when we leave with more hawaii candies. There're restaurants and super markets near by, it's convinient if you just want to order some food and eat in or make some light meal at home. The place is about 30 minute drive to the downtown/Waikiki, but during rush hours, the traffic can get bad on H1 highway, so it'll take some extra time.
One note for people who go into water there, the bottom of beach is covered by rocks and corals, some of them are very sharp, so make sure wear a pair of beach shoes (or swim fins) which are stocked in the closet on the deck.

Beautiful home just steps from the sandy beach!
We recently stayed in Lauie and Darla's home in May 2012. It was a fabulous stay, everything you needed in order to have a pleasant time was right there. We were even greeted with fresh fruit and dessert! A beautiful sandy beach was just steps away, with a short walk to easy swimming with little to no coral. We even had a seal on the beach! If we ever make it to Ewa Beach again we will be sure to look Laurie and Darla up!
Peaceful, relaxing and great access to the beach.
We had a wonderful time vacationing in your lovely home. Laurie and Darla were so kind and friendly, and were available whenever we needed them. There was only a short stroll down to the beach, and the sound of the waves was heard throughout our entire stay. We loved sitting on the lanai, eating dinner or just enjoying the beautiful view. Ewa Beach was close to all the major sightseeing locations, and there were lots of restaurants and grocery stores near by. We loved walking the beach in the mornings to gather seashells, and also enjoyed our seaside walks at night in the moonlight. The views were beautiful, and most times we had the beach all to ourselves! Thank you, Laurie and Darla, for being part of such a memorable and enjoyable vacation for our family.
Wonderful home just a few steps away from the beach!
We traveled with our 3 young boys ages 6, 5, and 1. My brother's family joined us with their 5-year-old daughter. The 8 of us had plenty of room to enjoy during our stay. We loved the back porch, sitting out there at night during the week we stayed.
Laurie and Darla spoiled us with welcome and departure gifts, always being available when we needed simple things like toilet paper.
This home was right in between the two places we visited most...Honolulu area and Ko Olina. Because it is a little out of the way of regular tourist traffic, it was great to enjoy an almost empty beach everyday! We would choose one or two places to visit each day, then return for the afternoon and evening to relax.
We visited the aloha Stadium Swap Meet, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, North Shore, and the Dole Plantation. Ko Olina has the nice resorts on the west side and we made our way there for a wedding and visiting friends who were also visiting for the wedding.
One thing we didn't care for was the Saturday night partying next door. It was our first night there and as we were trying to sleep, the radio remained blasting next door. We slept with the windows open to experience the lovely trade winds, but the music traveled right on in, too. However, the rest of the week it was quiet.
We normally don't wear shoes inside the house, but it was hard not to drag in sand every time we walked in the door. Had to keep sweeping and sweeping. I guess that just comes with beach living! :)

We loved your place, felt like we were home. Would do this over a high rise anytime. We lacked for nothing. Would highly reommend for anyone wanting to have a quiet getaway from the usual tourist locations. We could still do those tourist things and come home to relax, cook out play cards, sit on the beach, whatever. The neighbors were very nice to us.It was everything we hoped for.
"What a great house, it has everything home has and more. This was my first house rental and it was the right choice for my family. There was 6 of us staying at this house and we all had our own privacy. Two grown daughter, a teenage daughter and son, my girlfriend and I. Darla directed my attention to this property after another was booked for our time period. We all looked at the pictures and said it looks nice, wow - pictures do not do it justice. It is bigger and more comfortable than the pictures show. Everything you could want is here, we even found some spare bibs that we have since long not needed. Upon arrival we found the house book and it covered everything we could have any questions about. Fresh fruit, coffee, milk and juice had been left for us and what a Godsend that was to relax with a cup of JOE before unpacking. Later the owner Laurie showed up and welcomed us and said "any questions please call," I am a short distance away. Laurie called the house a few times to inform us of special events and local attractions worth checking out. Laurie thank you so much for all your help, your kindness and relaxed manor made us feel like Ohana (Family in Hawaiian). God only knows when but we will be back for some more of your hospitality, warmth and to see more of Paradise. This was the best vacation ever - Mahalo Darla and Laurie - You made our trip the best and painless - if you don't count the kids sunburn - LOL."
Girls getaway weekend in paradise
My best friend and I rented to Ewa Beach house and had the greatest vacation! The house was simply amazing. We had all the amenities and then some! The house was beautiful, the beach was warm and inviting (a bit too much coral but that can’t be helped). The evenings were stunning, sitting on our lanai, drinking a glass of wine, listening to the waves crashing, watching the sunset… stunning. Laurie was such a great hostess. She did everything in her power to make sure our stay was exactly what we had hoped for and it was!

Ewa Beach house led to great time
Ewa Beach house was our home base. Worked great. House was actually larger than expected and accomodated 8 just fine. Clean. Excellent service and personal support. Safe. Beach was just fine for hanging out. Covered deck great for hanging out and talking. From here we were able to make it back into Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, and North Beach without much difficulty.
