Oxford, United KingdomA perfect place for two..
Left on 04/16/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Delightful property just perfect for 2 .. Although small it is very well appointed and has everything you need for a great stay. The fact that the pub and two restaurants are within a few minutes’ walk also mean that you don’t have to eat in (although the facilities are good and there is a fantastic butcher in Minehead and also in Porlock) or drive to find some good food. We stayed over Easter and despite the freezing temperatures, the sky was blue and the views from the cottage awesome across the bay (you imagine you are on the Riviera... from inside at least!).
Only downside of the cottage is the parking. We have a large car and it was quite an art to get it into and out of the drive (very tight turn). Fortunately the people staying in the adjacent property had a small car which just allowed us both to be able to manoeuvre. The other car had to back out the whole way.. Not easy!.. If we had both had large cars it would have been impossible.
As the cottage has only under floor heating downstairs we had to light the wood burner. It would not have been warm enough in the evenings without it.
The garden area is good so would recommend it for a summer holiday in particular. -

Reading, United KingdomVert smart and tidy cottage with great views
Left on 01/11/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We stayed here for a week over the 12/13 New Year. The cottage is very well appointed with some very nice touches - lovely bathroom and bedroom; with flat screen TV in bed. The area is great for walks and the cottage is an easy 10 minute walk to the pub and hotel in Porlock Weir. The views from the cottage are really good. When the weather is clear you can look across to the Vale of Glamorgan coast line.

EnglandFantastic accommodation, Beautiful Location
Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed for my birthday weekend in November 2012 & the Stable Block is lovely inside & out. The views are wonderful and the area is fantastic. We didnt want to leave. There is so much to visit nearby in the spring/ summer - Dunster Castle & village, Selworthy tearooms, travel on the steam trains etc. Porlock Weir is a relaxed area & lots of walks in all weathers. The Stable Block was lovely & warm, coal/log fire, fully equiped (tv coming out of bottom of bed was a particular favourite for hubby!) & we will definately return again
