Description from the manager

Farm Cottage is situated on a working farm in West Luccombe, which is only a mile from the village of Porlock. This 'cottage' is actually part of the farmhouse at West Luccombe has all the charm and character you would expect of this type of traditional building; an Aga in the kitchen, a wood-burner in the sitting room, very spacious throughout and much more besides.

The entrance hall leads into the kitchen with dining table, there is also a separate large sitting room with wood-burner. Farm Cottage sleeps 6 having three good sized bedrooms upstairs, two double (king-sized) and one twin room, which all enjoy lovely views across the fiel...Read more

A fantastic place to stay in every way

Left on 04/12/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Staying at Farm cottage with our son was a wonderful experience. We were met by a wonderful cream tea on arrival and a generous basket of logs for the wood burner. Jane the owner did everything she could to make us feel at home, even though it was lambing season and she was really busy, she made time for us. The farm was lovely, the cottage itself has everything you could want and more, including a great aga which kept the kitchen really warm and cosy and lots of toys to keep our son amused for the duration! Its a fantastic place to stay and we loved it. The location was also a fantastic bonus, as there are things to do locally and the house so comfortable we could allow for lots of time to relax if the weather wasn't up to much. We would recommend staying here without hesitation, a fantastic place for families, quiet and so suitable for couples, and very friendly and hospitable hosts. Thank you!

More like a Farmhouse than a cottage !

Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013

I booked this less than 48 hours before we arrived and was dithering between two cottages in the area. I'm so pleased that I picked this one. When we arrived, we were expecting a small cottage. We were amazed at the size of this place. A full size farmhouse kitchen, complete with aga and a lovely lounge with huge log burner. The bedrooms were comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean and fresh. The location is quiet, which is just what we wanted. My teenage son and younger daughter absolutely loved collecting eggs for their breakfast. I loved cooking on the aga, which took me back to my childhood. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. This is a really lovely cosy retreat and we will definitely be back for more, and we will bring the dogs next time. This place really did tick all the boxes for us.

      A very warm welcome

Left on 10/28/2012 for a stay in October 2012

The weather was very wet for most of our 4 days this October, but the warm welcome, comfort and cosiness of the house meant that we still had a good relaxing break. Our 2 labadors had their own towels and places in front of the aga. Nothing was to much trouble for Jane.

We know the area well and although we couldn't walk as much as we liked we still enjoyed visiting some favourite places such as Porlock Weir and Dunster. We drank coffee and sampled scones in many of the local cafes. Our favourites? Kintnors at Bossington the Old School Tea Rooms in Dunster.
