At the foot of the Alpilles and right in the center of one of the most charming and preserved villages of Provence, this is a renovated, stone 'Maison de Village', furnished with beautiful country furniture, carefully chosen Provencal pottery, a baby grand piano, and original artwork. It is on a narrow quiet road that climbs to the old village.

The master bedroom on the third floor has queen size bed with a beautiful window that looks out onto the church steeple and the Alpilles. It also has a spacious alcove under the eaves with a desk, sitting area with two stuffed armchairs, TV, and air conditioner. There is a modern full bathroom i...n this master bedroom with both a claw-foot bath and shower (fixed showerhead on the wall, not hand-held!)

The second floor has two small bedrooms, each with a double bed. There is a modern bathroom on this floor too, with shower and washer/dryer.

The ground floor has a fully-equipped modern 'American' kitchen (who knows why the French call it that!), a well-maintained baby grand piano, long farm table in light pine wood, fireplace and sitting area with custom made leather arm chairs (where you will find plenty of maps and travel books to use in planning your day trips in the area). The house has a private cobblestone patio with colored flower pots for dining al fresco.

This house has WI-FI, DVD, TV, CD and radio with antenna on roof for France Musique. (classical radio, with many live transmissions from music festivals.

There are endless hiking trails, bike routes, and dozens of neighboring towns to visit. Vineyards and olive groves abound in every direction. It is ten minutes in the car to the beautiful village of St Remy, and 30-45 minutes from many others like Isle Sur la Sorge, Avignon,Arles, Maussane, Gordes, and Vaison La Romaine.

It takes just seconds to walk to the local 'La Presse' or Libraire d'Eygalieres for your newspaper in the morning and just a few more steps down to the two bakeries and cafés. Eygalieres is one of the most beautiful and preserved villages in all of Provence, at the foothills of a mountain range called The Alpilles. There are two bakeries and two cafés, small pharmacy, bookstore/newsstand, and hair salon all within thirty seconds from our doorstep, and yet, in the other direction, you are in full countryside. In every direction you will find olive groves, beautiful biking, hiking and walking paths. Our house is in the vieux village, the old cobblestone part of the village and when you climb just five minutes to the top, you can see a beautiful view of the town. Always the first stop to show visitors. There is a tennis court just minutes away and it is illuminated at night. Dozens of other villages are only 20 -30 minutes away by car: Avignon, Gordes, Isle sur-la-Sorgue, Arles, Maussane, Lourmarin, and others! Parking is very easy, either in the church parking lot, two doors down, or on the street.. Never a problem. The village becomes one big open market on Friday mornings, just steps from our home. There is an ATM in the village - you will need cash for the wonderful honeys, olive oils, tablecloths, tapinades, and provencal prints you can buy. You will make friends and want to keep coming back. This is where memories are made.
