The owners live beside the property and are very friendly but not intrusive and they have lots of useful local knowledge. The cottage is in a very scenic location but a car is necessary for sightseeing. It is nicely furnished and has a comfortable bed with nice linens but be aware that towels are not provided which came as a surprise and is not very convenient if you are overseas tourists like us. There is a washer but no dryer. Children are not allowed and probably no pets either as the owners have a large(friendly) dog of their own. The beach is not accessible from the property, a dangerous path leads down to it but this year the path had been washed out due to earlier heavy rain. However there are other beaches nearby. There is a well equipped farm shop selling provisions for self catering within a new minutes drive and of course large supermarkets in Hastings about 5 miles away. The kitchen is small but well equipped with cooking utensils, etc. but the shower was a little hard to operate. Owners seem to be aware of this problem.

We were given a warm welcome by the owners who were never intrusive but always there if we needed them. The accommodation was light and roomy, clean and well planned with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. A delightful extra was the use of the summerhouse overlooking the cliff, a beautiful spot for breakfast or an evening read. We found the proximity to Hastings very convenient and spent a lot of time enjoying the historic Old Town with it's narrow streets, historic port and fanicular railway. We would definately go back.
