      Beautiful Lodge with artistic Details

Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in October 2012

If Blue Moon Lodge is in your price range you should definitely book it. You won't be disappointed. Our family stayed there for our Girls' Weekend to attend the Southern Highlands Craft Fair and we couldn't have been more pleased. Just watch the video and you'll be hooked.

Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in June 2011

If you look at the photos online, you can tell that this was meant to be a very special home filled with artistic details by North Carolinian craftsmen. The stonework, use of many complementary natural materials and overall architectural design on the home-site are all spectacular. The proximity to downtown asheville and The Biltmore Estate is also very convenient.

We expected a clean, well-maintained home. Instead we found a home that has not been cared for - either in terms of general maintenance or cleanliness. This is not what you expect for the price we paid ($4,875/week) and the fact that this is a two-year-old house. The light fixtures, furniture, mini-blinds and floors were dirty and grimy. When we ran the vacuum cleaner in just one bedroom, the entire dirt container filled with dust. There was a general feel of neglect in this once-magnificent home - a broken window, many broken mini-blinds, scrapes and scratches on floors and walls, water leaks, broken electronics, dead bugs everywhere, and overgrown landscaping...you get the picture. I just wonder how long it's been since someone really walked the home and checked everything it it?

In addition to the maintenance issues, the check-in information was provided to us much too late - 5 days before check-in vs. the 30 days promised in the rental agreement. Upon arrival at the property, the alarm (which was supposed to be turned off by the cleaning staff) blared non-stop for over an hour as we tried to reach a management company representative. Even after three phone calls and the arrival of two deputies from the county sheriff's office, the management company was still unable to turn off the alarm. It was only after we made numerous pleading phone calls to the alarm company that they provided a code that would disarm the alarm. There were also many occasions during our stay that the gate code provided to enter the community, did not work and we had to wait until someone left the neighborhood in order to enter.

We had a great time in the asheville area but we hope that this wonderful home will get some much-deserved TLC.

      Awesome

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in November 2010

No details of comfort left undone in this house. It was obviously built for an indicidual with taste and a sense of style and beauty as it really was a home away from home experience. We had 16 for Thanksgiving dinner, and the house accomodated that number easily, not only for space, but for table settings and barware.

      Great Mountain Get-Away!

Left on 01/24/2010 for a stay in November 2009

Blue Moon Lodge is a great place to get away and relax. Fourteen family members spent Thanksgiving week there and had a great time. The kitchen is great for cooking with a wonderful pantry. The sitting areas are spacious and there are plenty of places to get away by yourself. The views are incredible. You are only a few miles from Asheville and the Biltmore. Some of us went to both. There are lots of restaurants to pick from if you want to eat out. The best thing about Blue Moon Lodge is the spaciousness of the house and the comfort of the beds and furniture. Great fireplaces! We could have used a different arrangement on beds but managed to work it out. Another TV in the house would have been helpful with that many people (as they were all adults). The service provided by Carolina Mornings was great - they took care of our reservation, answering questions, and taking care of a couple of simple problems immediately. We would love to return and would highly recommend anyone spend a few days in this incredible house.
