SLCLovely Stay in Casa Gardenia
Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Just spent two nights at a beautiful oasis in Fajardo!! Reina was so kind and her home was comfy, clean and surrounded by a gorgeous garden of orchids, bouganvias, and fruit trees. The location was near many great restaurants. We especially loved, The Vista, for breakfast...fabulous food! Only a block away from her home. It was about a fifteen minute drive to El Yunque Rain Forest. We would definitely return to sweet Reina's lovely homestead!

Kansas City, MissouriThe perfect haven in Fajardo
Left on 04/02/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My family's stay at Casa Gardenia was perfect. The owner Reina was present to greet us and give my family a very welcoming introduction to her little slice of paradise. The yard/garden was beautifully maintained with an amazing variety of tropical plants. The interior home had everything you needed to have a comfortable stay away from home.
Prior to coming to Puerto Rico we were concerned about safety in Puerto Rico. I voiced my concerns to Reina, she took the time to talk with me at length regarding her home and staying in Puerto Rico. I deeply appreciated her taking the time to talk with me. It helped to allay my husbands and my concerns. It was a very safe neighborhood, in a very safe home. We had the best stay possible in Puerto Rico and look forward to returning again.
Staying at Casa Gardenia gave us the opportunity to be our launch to see El Yunque, take a charted boat tour with Erin Go Bragh, go to the the San Juan Nature Reserve, go to Culebra and Vieques, the Bioluminscent tour, and visit the local beaches and hang in Las Croabas park. We had the best possible time! Being able to relax in the morning listening to the birds, watching lizards run around, and watching the chickens helped to make the this trip perfect. I can't imagine staying in a better place in Fajardo! Thank you for helping make our family vacation fabulous!Response from Reina A. Capron - 04/03/2013

Know the feeling where you get to an unfamiliar home and you immediately feel comfortable, as if in your own place?
That's the feeling we got from the moment of arrival at the Casa Gardenia. And it's not because it resembles our own home: it's the proportions, the manicured garden, the quiet and safe neighborhood, the wake up to the calls of the roosters and birds, the high-quality amenities - and last but not least - the interaction with the owner, which gave me the feeling of dealing with a friend (quite different from past experiences).
The owner and her caretaker were incredibly nice, willing to help and full of practical advice. Check-in was a piece of cake, with the caretaker waiting for us at the house, giving us a tour of the surroundings in her car, and so was check-out.
The Casa was just the right size for us. We had our breakfasts on the terrace, accompanied by the birds' songs. It was impeccably clean and well organized (including washer and dryer in a special washing room) and equipped with all the "little needs" for a smooth start (wash-up liquids, bath soaps, paper towels and toilet paper, bottled water, condiments, cooking oil, etc.), and had a covered off-street parking. The Casa is perfectly situated for nature lovers: # 2-3 minutes to the nature reserve "Las Cabezas de San Juan" - absolutely worth the 2-hour visit.
# Same distance to The Seven Seas Beach.
# A half an hour to the world famous Rain Forest Reserve "El
Yunque" (do not miss!).
# 15 minutes to the wonderful Luquillo Beach.
# 300 yards from the site of the Bioluminiscent Bay (another must!).
# Minutes to several good restaurants and the majestic "El Conquistador" Hotel, with its private island, golf course and several restaurants (quite pricey!).
# Next to the ferry for the neighboring islands (half an hour to the airport, if you wish to fly there): Culebra and Vieques. Flamenco Beach in Culebra is a must.
All in all: a great week's stay, absolutely good value for the money.Response from Reina A. Capron - 02/22/2013

Dear Dr. and wife,
It was my pleasure having you as our guest...our number 1 priority is making our guest feel right at home.
Very thankful for your awesome review! I am sure prospective guest would like to know other guest experiences. Check-in was on schedule and we understand you and your wife had traveled a long distance and with jet lag in a estrange place... so it was great my caretaker was happy to assist you in getting you situated.
Very pleased you enjoyed your visit to the Island and hope to have you again soon.
By the way thank you for the goodies left behind and like you stated all the "little needs" for a smooth start. "use what you need leave some items behind" policy works well for fellow travelers. -

Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This is a great home in a nice neighborhood close to beaches, bio bay, restaurants, etc. It played a big part in our family (2 adults,3 kids)having probably our best vacation ever. Even nicer than the pictures indicate. The owner was very responsive and helpful, especially considering that it was a last minute rental. We can't wait to return and stay there again.

New Yorkwaken up by the sunshine in the morning
Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011
I came here with three other friends, and spent four nights there. I have to say this is the most wonderful place I have ever lived. With beautiful garden, complete home appliance, very nice super, walking distance to the beach, we had a great time there. This is exactly what I expected for my vacation, a place far from city with nobody bothering, and I can enjoy the peaceful time in a beautiful environment while doing nothing. As I wrote in the tile, on each morning it is really wonderful memory to be waken up by the sunshine in the face instead of by working pressure.

Bryn Athyn, PAMy first trip to P.R., made superb by the Casa Gardenia!
Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in March 2011
I traveled with a group of 6 other people, and renting this house definitely made our first time to P.R. easy and wonderful. It was easy to coordinate the use of the house with the owners, James and Reina Capron, and the caretakers who greeted us were kind, friendly, and accommodating. It's location in a quiet, pretty neighborhood in Fajardo gave us a more "local" experience then staying at a high-rise hotel. The house is clean, beautiful and pleasant. The place may look small in pictures, but it easily accommodated our group of 7 people, and with the garden and porch, we never felt crowded. The beach is also a short walk from the house, and everything else you may need (such as groceries, etc) is a short drive.
If your are coming to Fajardo, PR for the first time, or you have been here and want a different experience than before, I would highly recommend this place!Response from Reina A. Capron - 03/10/2011

Sterling, VAMost wonderful honeymoon!!
Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We stayed at Casa Gardenia during week of Thanksgiving 2010 for our honeymoon. To our delight we arrived to a very clean, charming and cozy lodgings. The location was so close to so many tourist attractions we were able to stick to our itinerary without feeling exhaused at the end of each day. Casa Gardenia was well equipped with pretty much everything everyone anyone needs on vacation (even has secured wi-fi)! We really enjoyed grilling and eating outsidet too. The outside shower was great to use after visiting the beach! The nearby restaurants were for the most part very good. Some could have used more soap in the bathrooms.
We only explored the northeast part of island but we'll definitely be back to explore the rest of this lovely land! Thank you for making this once-in-a lifetime trip extremely special!Response from Reina A. Capron - 12/12/2010
