Description

Domaine de la Tour is a magnificent 18th century farmhouse, situated in peaceful countryside and very close to the medieval town of Falaise, Lower Normandy.

We have two very comfortable self catering cottages (gites) which are set in 7 hectares of land offering a tranquil, rural retreat in which to relax and unwind. Each gite sleeps up to 10 people. Formerly stables to the nearby chateau, the two gites have been entirely renovated whilst keeping their authentic charm.

Both gites have a spacious living area with leather sofas and english satellite TV, a DVD-player and a library of DVDs for kids and parents. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in both gites.

In each gite you will find: a booster seat, high chair, changing table, a baby monitor (DECT without interference), baby bath tub, potty, toilet seat reducer, a stroller and plastic plates, cups and cutlery.

Each gite has a private garden with garden furniture, parasol and a BBQ. There is a shared playroom equipped with plenty of toys for the under 5s and nearby table tennis for older kids (and their parents!). We have an outdoor play area and there are extensive grounds in which to play outdoor games and enjoy picnics and the little ones can enjoy petting the animals in the paddock.

Domaine de la Tour is a great option for extended families or several different families wanting to holiday together with plenty of space for everybody, old and young alike.

Accommodation Details

Both our gites have an identical layout and each one sleeps up to 10 people over three floors. The gites also have stair gates on every floor.

Ground floor:

Kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, cooker, coffee machine, water boiler, washing machine, dryer)

Open plan living room with dining area including high chair (with french windows leading into the private garden)

Lounge area with leather sofas, TV and DVD-player

W.C.

Staircase (protected top and bottom by stair gates) leads to the First Floor:

1 triple bedroom with ensuite bathroom (bath, shower, sink, toilet) + 1 change table

1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room (shower, sink, toilet)

1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room (shower, sink, toilet)

1 triple bedroom with ensuite shower room (shower, sink, toilet)

Additional beds and cots can be added to certain rooms on request at extra charge.

Our rates include heating, water and electricity, final cleaning, towels and bed linen (all beds are made on your arrival). Extra towels are on request, without any charge.

OPTIONAL SERVICES

Meal service

Its not really a holiday if you have to cook every night so why not take the easy option and order in? Delicous meals prepared by us or a local gourmet restaurant can be delivered to your gite up to three times per week ready to re-heat at a time that is convenient to you – quality take-away with a twist.

Babylistening

Babylistening can be ordered to enable you to enjoy time alone with your partner and sample the local gastronomic restaurants.

Pre-arrival Shopping Service

Before arrival simply email your requirements and you can arrive to a well-stocked fridge and plentiful nappy supply. You just need to pack a few clothes and we'll take care of all the rest.

Massage

Relax and unwind with a massage at Domaine de la Tour.

French conversation lessons

Pre-bookable French conversation lessons are available for both adults and children (20 euro per ½ hour, minimum 2 people).

Fresh bread service

The service is free: fresh bread delivered every morning before 9:00 am to your door.

Maid service

A daily cleaning service : 20 euro per hour.

Organic food basket

The possibility to order an organic vegetables basket on your arrival day (2 sizes).

Bike rental

En effet, cette chambre est très grande et sa salle de bain aussi ; c'est la dernière chambre de l'époque, du temps de la comtesse, la propriétaire avant nous. Rénovation prévue : janvier/février 2018. Notre petit déjeuner : minimum 3 fruits frais, 3 céréales, miel du pays de Falaise, 3 confitures faites maison, jambon, fromage, pas la baguette moulée standard, mais baguette tradition et baguette aux graines, jus d'orange, lait froid, lait chaud, des noix, thé, tisane,café, sucre, sticks café décaféine, chicorée. De bons produits, la variété ; ce n'est pas vraiment standard, n'est-ce pas ?

If Mark (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
